Abstract

In the digital era, building Generation Z customer loyalty has become a major challenge for culinary businesses due to rapidly changing consumer behavior and the strong influence of social media. This study aims to formulate priority strategies for strengthening young consumer loyalty through an integrated SWOT–TOWS and Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) approach. A case study was conducted at Mie ABC using digital audits, field observations, and interviews with business stakeholders and consumers aged 17–25 years. The SWOT–TOWS analysis generated sixteen strategic alternatives, which were further analyzed using ISM and MICMAC to identify hierarchical relationships and strategic priorities. The results indicate that customer feedback utilization, TikTok virality, recipe consistency, and product quality are key drivers in building loyalty. Furthermore, all strategic elements demonstrate high interdependence, suggesting that loyalty is shaped through the synergy of digital marketing, operational excellence, customer experience, and community engagement. These findings provide valuable insights for developing long-term loyalty strategies among young consumers. This study contributes an integrated SWOT–ISM framework and provides practical guidance for culinary SMEs seeking sustainable customer loyalty in a digital marketplace.

Abstract

Abstract

Turnover intention has become an increasingly complex issue in digital work environments due to the combined influence of employees' psychological conditions and social interactions. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of turnover intention diffusion using an agent-based modeling (ABM) approach. The model was developed in NetLogo with 100 employee agents and incorporated digital work stress, job engagement, organizational commitment, interaction intensity, and digital work environment quality as key variables. Simulations were conducted for 96 ticks, representing 24 months, across three scenarios: digital work stress, social diffusion, and organizational commitment. The simulation results indicate that higher digital work stress consistently increases turnover intention, while job engagement and organizational commitment help reduce this tendency. Social interaction intensity significantly accelerates the spread of turnover intention through a contagion effect, resulting in faster diffusion within highly connected employee networks. Furthermore, organizational commitment acts as a protective factor that promotes positive emergent behavior by reducing turnover intention and maintaining organizational stability. These findings demonstrate that ABM effectively captures how individual behavioral changes evolve into collective organizational patterns and provides a valuable decision-support tool for evaluating employee retention strategies in digital work environments. Abstract

Background: Indonesia’s digital platform economy has expanded market access for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), yet prior studies have not sufficiently examined how algorithmic opacity interacts with capital constraints to produce differential visibility outcomes for MSMEs. Purpose: This study explores how algorithmic governance shapes MSME fragility and resilience in Indonesia’s digital platform economy by examining visibility dependence, unequal platform literacy, capital-based exposure, and collaborative adaptation. Method: Using a qualitative exploratory case-study design, this study draws on semi-structured interviews with MSME owners/managers operating on major Indonesian e-commerce platforms. The data were analyzed through iterative thematic coding, constant comparison, and source triangulation across participant accounts and supporting contextual documents. Results: The findings reveal five major themes: algorithmic opacity as a source of visibility fragility, cognitive stratification in MSME adaptation, capital fragility and unequal platform exposure, collaboration as collective resilience, and the need for fair platform governance and inclusive digital policy. These findings indicate that MSME resilience is not determined merely by access to digital platforms, but by sellers’ capacity to interpret algorithmic signals, mobilize resources, participate in collaborative networks, and operate within transparent and accountable platform ecosystems. Conclusion: The study shows that MSME resilience is shaped not only by digital adoption but also by sellers’ capacity to interpret algorithmic signals, mobilize resources, and participate in collaborative networks. This study contributes by positioning cognitive stratification as an analytical lens explaining how unequal platform literacy mediates algorithmic governance and MSME vulnerability.

Abstract

Abstract

Kata Kunci: agent-based model; adopsi marketplace; UMKM; social influence; difusi inovasi.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of power distance on the communication effectiveness of Indonesian migrant workers in international multicultural workplaces. The study employed a quantitative approach using a survey design. Data were collected through online questionnaires distributed to Indonesian workers who had experience working abroad. A total of 107 responses were obtained, and after outlier screening using the Z-score method, 101 valid responses were analyzed. The research instruments were tested using validity and reliability tests, showing that all items were valid and reliable with Cronbach’s Alpha values above 0.70. Because the data did not fully meet the normality assumption, hypothesis testing was conducted using the bootstrap method with 1000 resampling iterations. The results showed that power distance had a negative but statistically insignificant effect on communication effectiveness, with a regression coefficient value of -0.047 and a significance value of 0.211 (>0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) value was 0.011, indicating that power distance explained only 1.1% of communication effectiveness, while the remaining 98.9% was influenced by other factors outside the study. Therefore, it can be concluded that power distance is not a major factor affecting the communication effectiveness of Indonesian workers abroad.
