Abstract

ABSTRACT                      The increase in tourist visits to Bali has become a growing place in various sectors in Bali which have an impact on health support facilities in the form of international hospitals. In its supporting activities, English language is the main thing in this field health workers, especially nurses who are able to communicate in English are needed to achieve good communication with international patients who visit the hospital. English language proficiency possessed by nurse nurses is professional in providing care to patients where nurses must be able to explain nursing procedures, drug administration, appropriate handling that allows patients to speak accurately and correctly. The lack of ability of a student in English is a phenomenon that occurs due to various factors. This study raised the ability of 5th semester nursing students in Stikes Bina Usada Bali. In this study, Stikes Bina Usada Bali students majoring in Nursing were the object of research. This study aims to analyze the problems faced by students of Stikes Bina Usada Bali in the pronunciation and analysis of factors that influence the ability of English Language on students at Stikes Bina Usada Bali. Descriptive data was used to analyse data in this study. This study shows that nursing students at Stikes Bina Usada Bali experience problems in English as the influence of the mother tongue (main language of each student) and second language (Indonesian). Several factors also influence the ability of students to speak in the form of internal and external factors such as language components and content components and the environment during the learning process.  Keywords: speaking ability, pronunciation, nurse, diabetes mellitus

Abstract

Bahasa Inggris adalah salah satu kemampuan komunikatif yang harus ditingkatkan pada era globalisasi karena bahasa Inggris sangat penting. Bagi mereka yang bekerja di sektor kesehatan, memahami Bahasa Inggris juga merupakan suatu kewajiban, terlebih lagi dengan diberlakukannya MEA (Masyarakat Ekonomi Asean) yang salah satunya meminta para perawat untuk dapat bersaing di era globalisasi ini. Menulis merupakan fokus pembahasan dalam penelitian ini karena beberapa perawat masih mengalami kesulitan dalam menulis deskripsi keluarga akibat kurangnya pembendaharaan kata dan mereka juga merasa kesulitan dalam menggabungkan kata menjadi suatu kalimat yang padu. Guided writing dapat digunakan untuk memecahkan masalah dalam menulis dan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pre eksperimen atau single group pre-test and posttest. Dalam penelitian ini, data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes untuk menentukan keberhasilan dalam proses pembelajaran. Terdapat dua jenis tes yang digunakan yaitu pretest dan post test. Berdasarkan data yang telah didapatkan, kebanyakan dari mereka mengalami kesulitan dalam menulis. Hal ini disebabkan karena kurangnya kesiapan dan terlalu banyaknya beban yang dirasakan oleh mereka.

Abstract

Health education is defined as the process by which health professionals provide information to patients that will change their health behavior or improve their health status. Properly targeted health education can lead to reduce hospitalizations. Educational interventions in heart care have been shown to increase physical activity and lead to healthy dietary habits and smoking cessation. One of the promotional methods that can be used to prepare home readiness of patients is audio visual media. This study aimed at determining the effect of video education on home readiness of patients with coronary heart disease in Mangusada Badung Regional Hospital. This study was a quasi-experimental study with a nonequivalent control group design. Home readiness of patients was analyzed using RHDS questionnaire. The control group (conventional lecture method) in this study was a group without video education, the treatment group had been given video education with 36 samples of each group using a systematic sampling method. Data analysis used t paired sample test and Man Whitney test. Based on Mann-Whitney U test with a confidence level of 95%, the results obtained P-value, = 0.000 with Z value = -7.215 therefore it can be concluded that providing video education media had a greater effect than providing lecture media education on home readiness of patients with coronary heart disease.

Abstract

Peran Generasi Milenial dalam Pengembangan Desa Wisata Berbasis Kearifan Lokal. Generasi milenial dan eksistensinya di media sosial mampu memberi energi yang besar dalam pengembangan desa wisata.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran generasi milenial dalam pengembangan Desa wisata Nyambu dan Desa Baru Marga di Kabupaten Tabanan serta implikasinya terhadap kearifan lokal. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data deskriptif kualitatif melalui wawancara dengan informan, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Informan yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini adalah tokoh masyarakat, pengelola desa wisata dan organisasi pemuda yang tergabung dalam Sekaa Teruna Teruni. Tahapan analisis data kualitatif yaitu, menandai kata-kata kunci dan gagasan yang ada di dalam data dan berupaya menemukan tema yang berasal dari data, menuliskan model yang ditemukan dan koding yang telah dilakukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peran generasi milenial dalam pengembangan Desa wisata Nyambu dan Desa Baru Marga melalui tiga tahapan meliputi tahap produser, tahap proses dan tahap produk. Bentuk inovasi generasi milenial terkait upaya pengembangan Desa wisata dilakukan dengan penguatan SDA dan implikasinya adalah generasi milenial dapat berkomitmen menjaga tradisi sosial budaya sehingga identitas diri dapat dipertahankan dan kelestarian alam dapat terjaga. Abstract

An increasing number of elderly in Japan and Indonesia, especially Bali, has led to increased health needs to care for them in nursing homes. Health workers, such as caregivers, are the closest people to communicate directly with the elderly. Communication can be called interpersonal communication which is a process of direct information or transfer of understanding of two or more people. Good interpersonal communication will build closeness and intimacy in the process of delivering messages. Therefore this study tried to analyze the experience of caregivers in implementing interpersonal communication and also determine the form of directive speech acts used by caregivers in caring for the elderly in nursing homes. The method used in this research was a qualitative descriptive method by phenomenological approach. The results showed that interpersonal communication applied by caregivers in caring for the elderly provided verbal and non verbal interpersonal communication. In addition, in the communication process of caregive-elderly is also formed directive speech act including prohibitions, requests and questions. In conclusion, caregivers need to have the ability to communicate effectively with elderly.

Abstract

Tujuan: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh hypnosleep terhadap kejadian enuresis pada anak usia prasekolah (4-6 tahun) di TK Widya Kumarayasa.Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan pre eksperimental design dengan rancangan penelitian one-group pretest-posttest design tanpa kelompok control. Penentuan sampel menggunakanteknik total sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 10 orang tua yang memiliki anak berumur 4-6 tahun. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner kebiasaan mengompol. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji statistic Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test.Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kejadian enuresis pada anak usia prasekolah sebelum diberikan hypnosleep, mayoritas anak yang mengalami enuresis yaitu sebanyak 10 orang dengan presentase 100% dan angka kejadian enuresis setelah diberikan hypnosleep mengalami penurunan menjadi 8 orang dengan presentase 80%. Berdasarkan uji statistic Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test didapatkan p (0,005) < ? (0,05) sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh signifikan hypnosleep terhadap kejadian enuresis pada anak usia prasekolah (4-6 tahun) di TK Widya Kumarayasa.Simpulan: Ada pengaruh signifikan hypnosleep terhadap kejadian enuresis pada anak usia prasekolah (4-6 tahun) di TK Widya Kumarayasa.Kata kunci: prasekolah, hypnosleep, enuresis

Abstract

This research aimed to find out how far the use of role-play technique could help the students of Triatma Jaya Badung Vocational High School in grade XI Hospitality Accommodation 1 to improve their speaking ability especially in using the simple past tense. Some theoretical frameworks are used in this research, such as the theory of teaching speaking by Richard and the theory of teaching grammar by Williams. Before the treatment was carried, a pretest was conducted to know the students’ basic ability, so that the achievement can be compared with the next circles after the treatment was given. The result of quantitative data showed that the use of role-play technique could improve the speaking ability of students of Triatma Jaya Badung Vocational High School. It can be seen from the result of the students’ achievement tests which increased continuously during the application of the role play technique. Those speaking aspects which were used as an indicator are vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, fluency, and comprehension.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research on improving English vocabulary in kindergarten students through health education video. The purpose of this study is to find out the improvement of English vocabulary through early health education video. The results of this study indicate an increase in English vocabulary through the health education video on preschool students of Pradnyandari I Kindergarten. The research method used in this research is Action research with the subject of TK Pradnyadari I Kindergarten student. Data collection techniques are using observation, documentation interviews and a collection of English words about dental and oral health through early health education video. This research was conducted in 3 cycles. The results showed an increase in vocabulary ability in English through early health education video on Pradnyandari I Kindergarten. The increase in the first cycle was 40.65%, in the second cycle, 48% and a significant increase of 65.9% was in the third cycle. It can be concluded that the increase in vocabulary through early health education videos is effectively implemented to students of Pradnyandari I Kindergarten.Keywords: English, vocabulary, health education video

Abstract

Language plays an important role in our life. Through language, we can transmit messages, communicate ideas, thoughts, and opinions. It is realized that language as the main tool for communication. In everyday communication, we are attuned not primary to the sentences we utter to one another, but also the speech act of those utterances. Communication will be successful when there is no misinterpretation. Communication can be held based on the situations, means that different speech situations will show the use of different speech acts too. One of the speech situations which can give us an idea of the usage of speech acts is in the health care sector. This study aimed at analyzing speech act in verbal communication between healthcare professionals and patients in Public Health Centre Branch Kerobokan Kelod.This study used the descriptive qualitative method with a total sampling technique. The population and sample of this study were the entire healthcare professional in Public Health Centre. The number of samples was 25 respondents.This study is expected to improve the healthcare professional’s skill in communicating based on the situation, therefore, the goal of health service which is targeted can be reached by the patients or patients’ family.

Abstract

Perawatan anak prasekolah di rumah sakit merupakan pengalaman yang penuh dengan stress bagi anak. Respon anak usia prasekolah yang menjalani hospitalisasi seringkali merasa cemas, menangis karena kepergian orang tua mereka, sering bertanya tentang dirinya, tidak kooperatif terhadap petugas kesehatan yang sedang memberikan tindakan keperawatan, wajah menjadi kemerahan serta memberontak. Perawat sangat berperan dalam mengurangi kecemasan akibat hospitalisasi dan mempunyai strategi untuk menghadapi anak yang sedang dirawat di rumah sakit. Salah satu cara adalah dengan melakukan komunikasi terapeutik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan komunikasi terapeutik perawat terhadap perilaku kecemasan anak usia prasekolah pada saat prosedur nebulizer. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analisis observasional dengan rancangan penelitian yang digunakan cross-sectional dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 32 orang menggunakan non probability sampling dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data adalah lembar observasi sedangkan analisisnya menggunakan uji korelasi Sperman Rank. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan 14 responden (43,0%) menyatakan komunikasi terapeutik perawat dalam kategori cukup. Perilaku kecemasan anak usia prasekolah pada saat hospitalisasi sebagian besar yaitu 21 responden (65,6%) mengalami kecemasan kategori sedang dan pada hasil uji Sperman Rank dipadatkan p value = 0,001 (p< 0,05) yang menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan komunikasi terapeutik perawat terhadap perilaku kecemasan anak usia prasekolah pada saat prosedur nebulizer di Ruang Sandat Rumah Sakit Tk. II Udayana. Oleh sebab itu, disarankan kepada perawat dan staf medis lainnya untuk melaksanakan komunikasi terapeutik saat melakukan tindakan medis maupun keperawatan.
