Abstract

Drosophila melanogaster is a member of the insect class that is used to prove the truth of Mendel's monohybrid and dihybrid crossing theory. Fruit flies were chosen as the object of the experiment because they are easy to find, have many offspring, have various phenotypes, have many mutants, and male flies do not crossbreed. This experiment aims to practice making monohybrid and dihybrid crosses and calculate the phenotype ratio of F1 and F2 offspring. The method used in this experiment is to make a medium for the fruit flies, inoculate for transferring fruit flies, and conduct monohybrid and dihybrid crossing methods. The results obtained will interpret the phenotype ratio in F1 and F2 offspring. This experiment concludes that the factors that control each character will separate at the time of gamete formation, and the factors that determine different characters are entered freely from each other.

Abstract

This study explores the representation of transcendental themes in the music video Stuck in the Middle by K-pop girl group BABYMONSTER using Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic framework. Through qualitative analysis, six visually rich scenes were examined to uncover how signs—icons, indexes, and symbols—convey deeper meanings related to self-reflection, emotional isolation, aspiration, and the human connection with the cosmos. The research finds that visual elements such as cosmic landscapes, symbolic colors, lighting contrasts, and fantasy-inspired settings serve as metaphors for emotional and spiritual journeys. These scenes construct a layered narrative that combines fantasy aesthetics with existential themes, reinforcing K-pop’s capacity to deliver profound messages beyond entertainment. By analyzing these transcendental signifiers, the study highlights the role of visual semiotics in shaping the cultural and philosophical depth of Korean popular music in a global context.

Abstract

In the context of globalization, the Korean language has emerged as a strategic asset in Indonesia, especially in labor mobility, academic exchange, and cultural diplomacy. This study explores how Korean language education enhances Indonesia–South Korea relations by enabling Indonesian workers to access employment through the Employment Permit System (EPS) and facilitating academic opportunities via scholarships and university partnerships. The Korean Wave (Hallyu) further fuels interest in the language, especially among youth, aligning cultural fascination with professional aspirations. Despite its growing prominence, challenges such as unequal access, limited qualified teachers, and high costs hinder equitable implementation. By adopting a qualitative methodology and analyzing secondary data, this paper argues for stronger policy support, digital solutions, and bilateral cooperation to expand language education. Ultimately, Korean language learning fosters mutual understanding, soft power, and long-term collaboration between Indonesia and South Korea.
