Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) The level of students' ability to think mathematical patterns through learning models problem based learning by using software geogebra, (2) The process of student answer sheets in solving pattern thinking problems through learning models problem based learning by using software geogebra, (3) Difficulties in solving problems that require the ability to think patterns in learning problem based learning by using software geogebra. This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Based on the research data, it was found that: (1) The level of students' ability to think mathematical patterns through learning models Problem Based Learning by using software geogebrais at a moderate level. Of the 19 students, 4 students had a 'high' level of mathematical thinking ability, 12 students had a 'moderate' level of mathematical thinking ability, and 3 students had a 'low' level of mathematical thinking ability. (2) The process of student answer sheets in solving pattern thinking through learning problems based learning models problems by using geogebra software found that the errors that appear more often are errors in differentiating concepts between arithmetic sequences and series, (3) Difficulty in pattern thinking skills in learning problem based learning by using geogebra software including difficulties in exploring and identifying, extending and reproducing, comparing, representing and describing. Keywords: Mathematical Patterns Thinking Ability, Problem Based Learning, Geogebra, Qualitatitve Research

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' mathematical abstraction ability, answer process and difficulties faced by students in solving derivative problems. The subjects in this study were 11th grade students of SMA SWASTA AN - NIZAM Medan who were taught with the application of PBL model and scientific approach. The instrument in this study is a formative test used to see the level of mathematical abstraction ability and the answer process given by students. The difficulties faced by students in the process of solving the problems given can be known through the interview process conducted and documented through cell phones. Of the 19 students who took the math abstraction ability test, 4 students had high category math abstraction ability (21%). 11 students have medium category math abstraction ability (58%), and 4 students have low category math abstraction ability (21%). Of the 4 problems given, for the recognition stage, problem no 1 can be solved by all students. problem no 2 can be solved by 17 students, problem no 3 can be solved by 12 students and problem no 4 can be solved by 8 students. The decline also occurred at the representation and structural abstraction stages. After being analyzed based on the process of answers given by students and the results of interviews conducted, the decline was caused by: 1. the level of difficulty of the problem, 2. learning experience, 3. reasoning power and 4. literacy skills of each different student.. In this research, the media used to help the research process is geogebra. The use of this media is only limited to how to solve the problems given in other ways besides the concepts taught at school. Keywords: Qualitative Research Analysis; Mathematical Abstraction Ability; Problem Based Learning Model

Abstract

This research examines students' computational thinking abilities in problem-based learning (PBL) classes. (2) Kolb's learning style profile towards students' computational thinking in the PBL context. This type of qualitative research is descriptive in nature, analyzing class XI MIA 4 students at SMAN 1 Langsa using data reduction techniques in assessing Kolb-type learning styles, computational thinking tests, interviews, and documentation. (1) The results of the computational thinking test using the problem-based learning (PBL) learning model showed that the low category was 9 people (25%), the medium category was 15 people (41.44%), and the high category was 12 people (33.33%). Nine low categories, 15 medium categories, and 12 high categories show this. Most students are intermediate computational thinkers. (2) Profile of MS participants with a convergent learning style with indications of decomposition (4 and 90.33%); pattern recognition (3 and 88.35%); thinking algorithm (3 and 72.85%); and patterns of abstraction and generalization (3 and 69.71%). Various learning styles with indications of decomposition (4 and 90.33%); pattern recognition (3 and 80.15%); thinking algorithm (3 and 71.85%); and pattern abstraction and generalization (3 and 69.40%) constitute the profile of DYZ subjects. Keywords: Students' Computational Thinking, Problem Based Learning, Kolb Learning Style.

Abstract

Bibliometric Mapping on the Research “Merdeka Belajar” Using VosviewerObjectives: To find out the development of research on the topic of Merdeka Belajar. Methods: The method is done by tracing articles in national journals with Publish or Peris then stored in the form of a Research Information System (RIS) and analyzed with VosViewer. Findings: The topic of Merdeka Belajar started in 2019 and increased rapidly every year. The authors who published the most on this topic were Reyna Virgina Nona, Fauzan Putraga Albahri, and Abdus Salam as of February 15, 2022. The most total link authors are Ummu Aiman, Nanda Alfan Kurniawan., Roimil Latifa, Ainur Rofieq, Randi Saputra, and Eko Susetyarini. The most dominant topics appeared were "Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka", "MBKM", "Covid" and "Kebijakan Merdeka Belajar" Conclusion: Through bibliometric studies, researchers are able to determine topics related to the researched and open gaps for other researchers while looking at maps between topics, and authors with each other.  Keywords: mapping map, merdeka belajar, bibliometric, vosviewer, publish or perish.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i2.202207
