Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the diversity of medicinal plants utilized by the community of Tindaki Village, South Parigi District, and to document their scientific names, morphological characteristics, plant parts used, and methods of preparation. The research employed a descriptive design with a qualitative approach using exploratory techniques. Data were collected through direct field observations conducted in six hamlets, structured interviews with ten informants consisting of five key informants and five supporting informants, and field documentation. Species identification was carried out through detailed observations of morphological characteristics, including roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits. The identification results were subsequently verified using relevant scientific literature to ensure taxonomic accuracy. The findings revealed a total of 34 medicinal plant species belonging to 23 families and 18 orders. The plant parts most commonly utilized by the community were leaves and rhizomes, followed by fruits, roots, stems, and sap. These plants are traditionally used to treat various health conditions, including fever, cough, diarrhea, diabetes, hypertension, kidney stones, digestive disorders, and skin diseases. In conclusion, the results indicate that Tindaki Village possesses a high diversity of medicinal plants that continue to be actively utilized by the local community. Therefore, sustained conservation and systematic documentation efforts are essential to preserve this valuable ethnobotanical knowledge for future generations.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' learning outcomes in Biology for Grade X students of SMK Manbaul Hikmah through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observation sheets of teacher and student activities as well as learning outcome tests administered at the end of each cycle. The results indicate that the application of the PBL model significantly improved students' learning outcomes. In Cycle I, classical learning mastery reached 85%, while in Cycle II it increased to 92%. The 7% improvement in classical mastery demonstrates that the PBL model is effective in encouraging students to think critically, collaborate, and solve problems related to contextual learning materials. In addition, students' activity and engagement during the learning process showed continuous improvement in each cycle. Therefore, the Problem Based Learning model can be considered an effective alternative for improving Biology learning outcomes of Grade X students at SMK Manbaul Hikmah.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth response of Katokkon chili plants to the administration of shallot extract. This type of research is an experiment using a quantitative approach method carried out in the form of experiments arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). This design is carried out with a single treatment consisting of 5 treatment levels, the treatment codes to be tested are: B0: control / no treatment, B1: 7% shallot extract, B2: 14% shallot extract, B3: 21% shallot extract and B4: 28% shallot extract which treatments were repeated 3 times so that there were 15 experimental arrangements. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves and stem diameter. Data analysis used the ANOVA test and continued with the BNT test. The results showed that the shallot extract treatment had a significant effect on the growth of Katokkon chili plants in the parameters of plant height and number of leaves. The best treatment was obtained at a concentration of 14% and had no significant effect on stem diameter.
