Abstract

Indonesia, as a multicultural country, faces a major challenge in preventing bullying practices rooted in cultural differences in educational environments. With the spread of bullying practices in Indonesia, guidance and counseling teachers (BK) need to be equipped with the understanding and skills to provide services to students, including basic case-based services. This activity was carried out at SMAN South Sumatra, attended by 23 BK teachers who are members of MGBK SMA Kota Palembang. The activity was carried out in October to November 2025 in a hybrid manner. The activity was conducted using discussion, practice, case-based learning, and assignment methods, where participants were trained to create cases and solve them using 3C3R. The activity began with a pretest, followed by material delivery, practice, mentoring, and ended with a posttest. The output of this training is the preparation of RPL and  multicultural bullying case which will be applied to basic services.  The analysis of pretest and posttest data showed an N-Gain coefficient of 0.85, which is in the high category. This indicates an increase in the understanding and skills of guidance counselors in implementing basic case-based services to enhance students' multicultural awareness. This training was effective in improving the competence of guidance counselors as agents of multicultural bullying prevention and supporting the creation of an inclusive and harmonious school environment. Abstract

Suicide prevention was a global mental health issue that was closely related to sustainable social development. The increasing attention to this issue encouraged the growth of interdisciplinary scientific publications, but it also led to potential fragmentation of knowledge. This study aimed to map the development of research on suicide ideation prevention within the perspective of sustainable social development using bibliometric analysis. Data were obtained from the Scopus database using keywords related to suicidal ideation, suicide prevention, community, social development, and sustainable development. A total of 4,424 English-language journal articles published between 1958 and 2025 were analyzed using VOSviewer software. Bibliometric analysis was conducted to identify publication trends, country contributions, and author productivity. The results showed that publications on suicide prevention within the context of sustainable social development increased significantly since the mid-1990s, with publication peaks occurring in 2024 and 2025. The United States became the largest contributor in terms of publications and citations, followed by Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom. In addition, the author analysis revealed several researchers who occupied central positions in scientific collaboration networks and played important roles in advancing suicide prevention research. These findings confirmed that suicide ideation prevention was increasingly positioned as an integral part of the sustainable social development agenda and required more inclusive global research collaboration.

Abstract

Bullying in educational settings constitutes a serious psychosocial risk, with Indonesia reporting a rapid escalation in documented cases. Despite the availability of psychological intervention frameworks, secular counseling approaches have demonstrated limited cultural resonance in majority-Muslim contexts. This study systematically reviews the literature on bullying from an Islamic perspective, with the aim of synthesizing scholarly evidence on how Islamic values can be integrated into guidance and counseling services as a framework for bullying prevention. A thematic literature review was conducted using Google Scholar, DOAJ, Dimensions, and Crossref, with search strings combining ('bullying' OR 'school bullying' OR 'cyberbullying') AND ('Islam' OR 'Islamic values' OR 'Islamic counseling' OR 'maqasid sharia'). Seventy-one sources published between 2017 and 2024 were screened; 22 met the inclusion criteria. Thematic analysis following Braun and Clarke's (2006) six-phase framework yielded five major themes. Findings indicate that Islamic jurisprudence provides a comprehensive normative prohibition against bullying through Qur'anic injunctions (QS Al-Hujurat 49:11; QS Al-Humazah 104:1; QS Al-Ahzab 33:58) and prophetic traditions. The maqasid al-shari'ah framework identifies bullying as a direct threat to five protected interests: religion, life, intellect, lineage, and property. The values of rahmah (compassion), 'adl (justice), ukhuwah (brotherhood), tazkiyah (purification), and karamah (human dignity) map coherently onto established psychological constructs of empathy, fair treatment, social connectedness, self-regulation, and respect all demonstrated to reduce bullying propensity. The integration of Islamic values in school counseling is not merely a normative proposition; it offers a culturally grounded and empirically plausible framework that complements social-psychological theories. Schools in Muslim-majority contexts are encouraged to adopt integrative counseling models that embed these values into preventive and restorative interventions.

Abstract

Suicidal ideation is a global mental health problem that has serious impacts on individuals, families, and communities. In the context of Muslim societies, Islamic spirituality is believed to play a crucial role in the prevention and management of suicidal ideation. This article aims to systematically review the literature related to the role of Islamic spirituality in managing suicidal ideation. Methods systematic literature review. This study was conducted by reviewing articles published between 2014 and 2024 from the Scopus database. The results indicate that the dimension of Islamic spirituality plays a significant protective factor in the prevention and treatment of suicidal ideation. Islamic values such as tawakkul (religious trust), patience, and the meaning of life provide psychological strength, while Islamic counseling has proven effective when integrated with modern psychotherapy approaches. However, more robust empirical research and standardized interventions are needed to strengthen the evidence of its effectiveness.
