Abstract

This research is a classroom action research. The purposes of this study are (1) describing the activities of Lecturers and Students in Human-Animal Physiology courses on circulation material with the 5E learning cycle strategy; (2) describing students' science process skills in Human-Animal Physiology courses on circulation material with learning cycle strategy. The research method used is descriptive, to describe the activities of Lecturers and Students as well as science process skills. The data analysis technique used is quantitative-qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the study show that (1) the implementation of the syntax of the 5E learning in the first cycle is 86.5% and the second cycle is 93.3%; (2) the value of science process skills in the first cycle is 73.3% and the second cycle is 82%. There are differences in the average implementation of the learning cycle 5E syntax and the science process skills between cycle I and cycle II.

Abstract

Abstract: This research was aimed to describe (1) the learning process in the subject of High Plant Taxonomy; (2) science process skills and metacognitive skills of students; (3) the needs of lecturers and students in learning. This type of research is descriptive quantitative-qualitative. Research samples were subject lecturers and 35 students of biological education. Data collection techniques used are tests and surveys. Data collection instruments are test sheets and requirement analysis questionnaire sheets. The results showed that (1) students had difficulty understanding the taxonomic material of plants; (2) student science process skills in Plant Taxonomy courses, namely observing (sometimes), measuring sometimes), managing data (sometimes), deviating (often), planning experiments (sometimes) and conducting experiments (sometimes -sometimes); (3) metacognitive planning skills (76, sufficient), monitoring (76, sufficient), evaluating (69, enough), revising (82, good); 4) Lecturers and students need teaching materials in the form of modules from the results of local potential to achieve the expected competencies.

Abstract

Important writing skills need to be enhanced to help students compete in the 4.0 educational era. The aim of this study is to describe the ability to write the results of field studies in the Panjang beach TWA area. Data collection techniques used are rubrics. The research instrument used was the rubric sheet assessing scientific reports. The results of this study indicate aspects of writing skills, namely score 3 category for the aspects of title, method, results, conclusions, bibliography, while score 2 with category of sufficient is obtianed for the aspects of introduction and discussion. The average score in the ability of students to write reports is 3 with a category of good via utilizing the field of study activities. Empowering writing skills can be done by innovating learning using outdoor learning.

Abstract

Modules are teaching materials that provide independent learning experiences and increase studentcompetence effectively. The purpose of this research is to develop a research-based module on the variationof Nepenthes miriabilis (L) Druce in various habitats for plant taxonomy courses. The research design usedis research and development. The development results consist of 1) potential analysis consisting of a highdiversity of Nepenthes miriabilis (L) Druce and no research-based modules have been applied; 2) moduledesign consisting of cover, learning activities and assessments; 3) the validation test shows that the moduleassessment obtained from material experts is 98.4% very valid and field trials can be carried out. The resultsof the assessment of the Plant Taxonomy module based on the media aspect amounted to 96.87% with avery valid category and worthy of field trials
