The experimental method used for this study was a pre-test and post-test pattern. In the implementation of this research, the population was used, namely all students of class VIII SMP YPK Merauke for the 2019-2020 academic year. The total population of this study from each class, including; Class VIIIa consists of 28 students, VIIIb has 26 students, VIIIc has 28 students, and class VIIId has 25 students. The total population is 107 students. The number of samples in this study are; 6 students from class VIIIa, 5 students from class VIIIb, 6 students from class VIIIc, and from class VIIId there are 5 students. The total sample in this study was 22 students. The research instrument used a soccer heading test. The results of this study can be concluded that the back up exercise has an effect on the results of students' ball headers. Abstract

This study aims to examine differences in student sport culture between urban and rural schools in Papua, focusing on cultural perceptions of the body, participation rates, and physical education curriculum implementation. A quantitative survey method was employed, involving 100 students, with 50 from urban schools and 50 from rural schools. Data were analyzed using t-tests and multiple linear regression. The results show that urban students and teachers had more positive perceptions of physical education, with mean scores of 4.2 and 4.5, compared to 3.5 and 3.8 in rural schools (t = 5.67, p < 0.001). Daily participation rates were higher among urban students (40%) compared to rural students (20%). Urban students were primarily motivated by health benefits (50%), while rural students were motivated by recreational and social aspects (40%). Recommendations include developing culturally relevant curricula, improving rural school infrastructure, providing teacher training, fostering community involvement, and integrating technology to enhance access and participation.

Abstract

ABSTRAK This study aims to evaluate the application of the ball tower model in learning forehand top spin shot techniques for students of the Physical Education, Health and Recreation Department of Unmus. The research identified four main indicators of problems, namely: lack of effective tools; low student confidence; lack of constructive feedback from the instructor, and  the importance of considering variations in student learning styles. The results showed that limited tools and practice time had a negative impact on students' ability to practice optimally. In addition, students' low confidence was caused by uncertainty in applying techniques and lack of support from instructors. Unspecific feedback also caused confusion in understanding the correct technique. This study recommends corrective measures, including providing adequate tools, increasing instructor support, and paying more attention to students' learning styles to create an inclusive and effective learning environment. The application of the ball tower model in learning forehand top spin strokes for Penjaskesrek Unmus students shows that several significant obstacles need to be overcome to increase the effectiveness of the learning process.

Abstract

The increase in life expectancy globally has led to a significant increase in the elderly population, including those aged 60 years and over. This condition requires special attention to various aspects of elderly welfare, one of which is mental health. Elderly mental health is a crucial issue due to various factors such as social isolation, unstable economic conditions, and limited access to mental health services. The World Health Organization (WHO) in its guidelines for 2010-2025 has emphasized the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in improving the quality of life of the elderly, including social and economic aspects that play an important role in determining well-being. The Scopus database-based bibliometric analysis method is one of the largest sources of scientific information covering various disciplines. The results of the analysis show that research on elderly mental health has increased significantly in the last decade, especially after the increasing global awareness of the importance of mental health in the elderly population. The main topics referred to in this study include the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, BMJ Open Sport and Latihan Medicine, Frontiers in Psychology, Journal of Physical Education and Sport, and the British Journal of Sports Medicine. These journals publish various studies that examine how social and economic factors affect the mental health of the elderly

Abstract

Abstract

Examining the strategies for the advancement of sports development in Papua following the XX National Sports Week (PON) based on the perspective of DISORDA Papua is crucial as sports development must be carried out in a methodical, measurable, and continuous manner. This study aims to assess the policies of sports development programs in Papua post the XX PON. It utilizes qualitative methods involving interviews, observations, and documentation for data collection. The policy analysis methodology employed includes problem formulation, forecasting, recommendations, monitoring, and evaluation. The study involved 5 participants from the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Papua. The research findings indicate that the sports development program policy in Papua following PON XX demonstrates that the province's sports development program has not been effectively integrated. In general, the policy in Papua Governor Regulation Number 29 of 2020 concerning the Description of Duties and Functions of the Papua Province Sports and Youth Service reveals that the sports development program in Papua province is not yet well integrated.

Abstract

Learning the forehand topspin stroke is essential for students in the Physical Education and Health program at Musamus University, Merauke, as it underpins advanced tennis skills and performance. This study identifies challenges faced by students in mastering this technique, including unbalanced body positions, difficulties in selecting proper racket grips, and limited access to facilities and tools. The research employed a quantitative developmental approach, collecting data from 23 student respondents through a questionnaire focusing on body positioning, racket grip, technique understanding, and facility availability. Descriptive statistical analysis revealed that 75% of students struggled with unbalanced body positions, 70% lacked preparation, and 50% faced concentration issues. Furthermore, 60% reported confusion with racket grip selection, while 80% cited inadequate facilities as a major barrier. These findings highlight the need for targeted interventions, such as improved training programs, enhanced resources, and clearer instructional methods, to address these challenges. This research underscores the importance of addressing these obstacles to optimize student learning outcomes in tennis skill acquisition.

Abstract

Providing students to go directly to teaching practice in schools is not enough to be equipped with theory and practice in the field. The knowledge gained in college must also be supported by students' skills in providing facilities and infrastructure for field practice. Through a combination of skills improvement and skills expected to be better and alert in the learning process at the School. This activity is an effort to equip students majoring in Physical Education and Recreation before taking the Field Experience Practice (PPL) program. The method used in this training uses training and application. The training process provided in the form of theory in the classroom and the application is carried out directly in the guided field. The application consists of making modifications to the means of the four nets as well as the direct practice of use in the game. The results obtained from this activity are the knowledge, skills and abilities of students to improve, this can be seen in the results prepared by students
