Abstract

Background: Dysmenorrhea is a disorder that occurs during menstruation and often occurs in adolescent girls, causing feelings of anxiety and negative beliefs about menstrual pain, the incidence of dysmenorrhea in adolescents with a prevalence of 43% to 93%. Purpose: Effect of counseling on knowledge and attitudes of adolescents daughter about dysmenorrhea at MTsN model Palu. Methods: This type of analytic research with a pre-experimental design the one group pretest-posttest design. The total population of this study were all students of class VII and VIII of MTSN Palu Model as many as 309, the sample size used the slovin formula, the sample size was 76 respondents, and the sampling technique used proportional stratified random sampling. The sample was taken by lottery technique. The analysis used the Wilcoxon test through a computerized system. Results: There was an increase in knowledge of 69.7% and an increase in attitude of 63.5% after being given counseling. Statistical test has the effect of counseling on increasing knowledge and attitudes of young women about dysmenorrhea (r = 0.000 < α =0.05). Conclusion: Counseling affects the knowledge and attitudes of young women about dysmenorrhea at MTsN Model Palu. Suggestions need to do research with different variables.

Abstract

Background: Breast cancer because it belongs to a type of malignant disease and ranks first in Indonesia after cervical cancer. The purpose in this study is to find out the influence of health education on breast examination itself (REALIZE) on the attitude of young women at Sma Negeri 4 Palu. Method: The type of research used is Pre-Experiment with the design of The One Group Pre-Test Post-Test. The sample number of 40 respondents used simple random sampling in grades X and XI. The data is analyzed using chi-square. Results: showed an increase in the percentage of respondents' attitudes before and after being given Health Education on Breast Self-Examination (23 respondents (57.5%) in pretest and 29 respondents (72.5%) in posttest. Conclusion: the provision of health education about breast examination itself shows an increase in good attitudes in adolescent girls at Sma Negeri 4 Palu. Advice is expected that many female students seek information from various media, so as to have a good understanding of SADAR.

Abstract

Background The use of KIA books by midwives in Parigi Moutong Regency has not been optimal at around 82.1%, while those who do not use KIA books as much as 17.9% are due to the fact that at all times there is always a revision of the KIA book and there is no training in filling KIA books, only socializing Zoom Meetings and YouTube Channels, so many midwives still do not understand about filling it out, especially in the mother's section of the book. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between midwife's knowledge and the role of midwives in the use of KIA Books. The method is Cross cross-sectional approach, the population in this study is all Midwives in the Parigi Moutong Regency Area. The sample amounted to 83 respondents. The instrument used is a questionnaire—univariate and bivariate data analysis with a chi-square test. The study's results found that some respondents were well knowledgeable, 77 people (92.8%) and had good roles totaling 81 people (97.6%). With a p-value of ≤ 0.05 which is 0.004. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between midwives' knowledge and the role of midwives in the use of KIA Books in the Parigi Moutong Regency Area. It is expected for health workers, especially midwives, to motivate mothers more in terms of using KIA books.

Abstract

Background: Anemia is a global health problem in pregnant women which can result in bleeding in the mother, while low birth weight (LBW) can occur in the fetus. Data on pregnant women with anemia at the Sangurara Community Health Center in 2023 is 23 people. Purpose: The aim was to determine the relationship between age and parity with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the third trimester at the Sangurara Community Health Center, Palu City. Methods: This research design uses observational analytics with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study was 635 pregnant women and the number of samples used was 86 respondents, with a sampling technique namely Purposive Sampling. Data collection techniques use secondary data. This research was conducted at the Sangurara Health Center and carried out from 07 to 12 August 2023. Results: The results of the research showed that 23.4% of mothers of healthy age experienced anemia and 36.4% of mothers of healthy age experienced anemia. Mothers who have no parity are at risk of experiencing anemia as much as 28.2%, while mothers with parity ≥3 experience anemia as much as 25.5%. The results of the analysis obtained an age p-value of 0.237 (p > 0.05) and a parity p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: This study concludes that there is no relationship between age and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the third trimester and there is a relationship between parity and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the third trimester in the Sangurara Community Health Center area. Researchers hope to improve services and provide information so that they can reduce the incidence of anemia in pregnant women.

Abstract

Background: Teenage girls often do not maintain their hygiene, because they consider vaginal discharge as unimportant. Interviews conducted with 10 female students at SMPN 18 Palu found that they had experienced vaginal discharge but did not know about the causes and impacts of vaginal discharge. Purpose: The relationship between the personal hygiene behavior of adolescent girls and the incidence of vaginal discharge at SMPN 18 Palu is known. Methods: This study is an analytical survey with a cross-sectional approach. The study involved 57 female adolescents using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The study was conducted in April-May 2024 and the data collection tool was a questionnaire. The Chi-Square test was used to analyze the data. Results: As many as 28 respondents (49.1%) had adequate personal hygiene behavior and 43 respondents (75.4%) experienced vaginal discharge. The Chi-Square test results obtained a p-value of 0.027 (<0.05). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the personal hygiene behavior of adolescent girls with the incidence of vaginal discharge at SMP Negeri 18 Palu. Health workers are advised to provide education about personal hygiene to prevent vaginal discharge in every school

Abstract

Background: Mamboro Health Center is one of the health centers that experience problems in antenatal care visit compliance, in 2023 the coverage of K4 as many as 350 people (97.2%) has decreased compared to 2022. Objective: To identify predisposing factors that affect pregnant women's compliance in the third trimester with antenatal visits. Methods: Quantitative research method, with a cross-sectional design using 50 samples of pregnant women in the third trimester at the Mamboro Health Center. Samples were taken on a total sampling basis. Univariate and Bivariate data analysis using the chi-square test. Results: Univariate data were obtained from mothers who were obedient in carrying out antenatal visits, 56% of whom were The results of the Chi-Square test showed a relationship between ANC Visit compliance with age (p-value 0.0027), education (p-value 0.005), occupation (p-value 0.000) and no relationship with parity (p-value 0.052). Conclusion: Age, Education and Employment are related to antenatal visits and Parity is not related. It is recommended that the Mamboro Health Center provide counseling programs more often on the importance of regular antenatal visits during pregnancy.

Abstract

Background: Perineal suture wounds caused by episiotomy and rupture, if not handled properly and correctly, can become a medium for germs to enter and can cause infection, the mother becomes feverish, and can even cause a foul odor from the vagina. Objective: to determine the effect of vulva hygiene using betel leaf decoction on the healing of perineal wounds in postpartum mothers in the Working Area of the Pantoloan Health Center, Palu City. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental research type, with a sample of 20 people, 10 intervention people, and 10 control people, with a sampling technique using consecutive sampling. Univariate and bivariate analysis with Wilcoxon test. Results: The healing of perineal wounds in the intervention group all healed after being given betel leaf decoction, while the control group healed perineal wounds totaling 5 people and 5 people did not heal. Wilcoxon test with a p-value of 0.002 (< 0.05).  Conclusion: there is an effect of vulva hygiene using betel leaf decoction on the healing of perineal wounds in postpartum mothers in the Working Area of the Pantoloan Health Center, Palu City. It is recommended for health workers at the health center to provide vulva hygiene material to postpartum mothers during counseling.

Abstract

Background: Sleep disorders for children can affect their emotions and behavior, to overcome the quality of sleep that is not optimal, one of which is with massage. Massage using lavender-scented oil can have a relaxing effect on the baby's body. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of the baby's sleep duration by massaging using lavender aroma oil. Methods: This study was designed to involve 30 respondents. The sample takers used simple random sampling by drawing lots based on inclusion criteria, namely babies aged 6-12 months, healthy babies and willing to be repondent, and exclusion criteria, namely sick babies requiring treatment. The study was conducted in May and June and the data were collected using questionnaires. The Wilcoxon test was used to analyze the data. Results: before the massage, 27 (90.0%) babies with insufficient sleep quality were found and there were 3 (10.0%) babies who were classified as having sufficient sleep quality. Through Wilcoxon's test, his analysis found that Z is -4.690 and p-value is 0.000 (<0.05). P < 0.05 so that Ha is accepted by Ho is rejected, meaning that there is an effect of baby massage using lavender-scented oil on the length of sleep of babies aged 6-12 months. Conclusion: Baby massage using lavender-scented oil is optimal for the length of sleep of babies aged 6-12 months. Medical workers are proposed to take part in baby massage training so that they can educate and practice baby massage at the posyandu

Abstract

Background: Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnant women is a nutritional problem that impacts the health of both the mother and the fetus. In the working area of Lere Health Center, Palu City, 38 cases of CED were recorded in 2021–2022. This study aims to identify the determining factors of CED occurrence in pregnant women in that area. Method: The research method used was a case-control study with a retrospective approach. The study population consisted of 214 pregnant women, with a sample of 76 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Secondary data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Chi-square test through SPSS software. Result: The research results indicate that pregnant women with primary and secondary education levels (65.8%), parity >3, and a history of hyperemesis gravidarum (55.2%) are more likely to experience chronic energy deficiency (CED). Bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between education (p = 0.000; OR = 9.436), parity (p = 0.000; OR = 6.321), and hyperemesis gravidarum (p = 0.001; OR = 11.998) with the incidence of CED. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between education, parity, and a history of hyperemesis gravidarum with the occurrence of CED in pregnant women. The researchers recommend improving the quality of health services and nutritional counseling to reduce the incidence of CED in the working area of Lere Community Health Center.
