The background of cord care is to keep the umbilical cord clean, dry and help protect newborns from possible infections. The umbilical cord fades faster and reduces the risk of infection. The content of breast milk, namely leukocyte cells, proteolytic enzymes, and immunological substances that can help accelerate the release of the umbilical cord. The study aimed to determine the effect of topical breastfeeding on the length of umbilical cord release in newborns at BPM Anatapura and Setia Palu BPM. The method used was pre-experiment with Static Group Comparison. The study population was all newborns aged 0 days until the cord was released, born at BPM Anatapura and BPM Setia Palu. The sample was divided into 2 groups (intervention and control), the number of samples was 15 for each group, so that a total of 30 samples were taken by consecutive sampling technique. Data analysis used was univariate and bivariate with Independent t-test. The results showed that the mean cord release in the topical breastfeeding group (102.7+ 22.08 hours) was smaller than the open dry treatment group (145, 36+ 37.63 hours) in the 95% CI with ρ-value of 0.001. The topical ASI group had a chance of 1.42 times (42.66 hours) experiencing umbilical cord release more quickly than the open dry treatment group. The conclusion of the study was the effect of topical breastfeeding on the length of umbilical cord release. The results of the study can be used as reference references in providing health services, especially simple umbilical cord care using topical breast milk.Keywords: Topical Breastfeeding, old release of the umbilical cord

Exclusive breastfeeding is the most appropriate food for babies aged 0-6 months for brain development and infant intelligence as well as to improve the baby's immune system or immunity from disease attacks. The coverage of exclusive breastfeeding is influenced by many factors, one of which is the very limited number of ASI counselors. The purpose of this study is to know the relationship of breastfeeding counseling with mother's attitude in exclusive breastfeeding in Tawaeli Health Center work area. This research includes descriptive correlation type with cross sectional approach. The design of this study was used to analyze the correlative relationship between breastfeeding counseling and the mother's attitude in exclusive breastfeeding. The location of this research is the work area of Puskesmas Taweli in Palu City and implemented on July to August 2015. The sample of this research is all mothers who have babies aged 0-6 months in work area of Puskesmas Taweli in Palu City. Sampling was done by using consecutive sampling, with total sample of 73 people. The results showed no significant relationship between breastfeeding counseling and mother's attitude in exclusive breastfeeding in Tawaeli Health Center Working Area. This can be proved by statistical analysis with X2value <X2table (0,292 <92,808) at 95% CI and ρ-value = 0,589> α (0,05). Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that there is no relationship of breastfeeding counseling with mother attitude about exclusive breast feeding in Tawaeli Public Health Working Area.Keywords: 0-6 months old baby, Mother’s attitude, Counseling

The prevalence of stunting in five-year-old infants in Indonesia in 2018 it is 30.8% while in two-year babies it is 29.9% which consists of 12.8% very short and 17.1% short. Stunting can be caused by a variety of factors, such as the implementation of initiation of early breastfeeding which is not appropriate and the provision of breast milk is not exclusive. The purpose of this study is to know the relationship between early breastfeeding initiation and exclusive breastfeeding with stunting in two-year-old infants aged 7-24 months in the work area of Pantoloan Health Center. This type of research is an analytical survey with design cross sectional. The sample in this study were two-year-old infants aged 7-24 months totaling 57 samples with sampling techniques namely simple random sampling and data analysis using Chi Square. The results showed that respondents who experienced stunting were 36.8% and not stunting 63.2%. Respondents who had early breastfeeding initiation tended not to experience stunting (79.2%), while respondents who received exclusive breastfeeding tended not to experience stunting (81.0%). The results of the statistical test showed a significant relationship between early breastfeeding initiation and exclusive breastfeeding with stunting with the same p-value of 0.033 (? <0.05). The conclusion is that there is a relationship between early breastfeeding initiation and exclusive breastfeeding with stunting. Suggestions for researchers for health workers to promote and implement early breastfeeding initiatives and exclusive breastfeeding for mothers to prevent and minimize the incidence of stunting in children in the future.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konseling tentang ASI Eksklusif terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap ibu hamil trimester ke III di Puskesmas Biromaru. Desain penelitian ini adalah pra experiment one group pretest and posttest design. Populasi adalah semua ibu hamil di Puskesmas Biromaru. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 43 orang dipilih menggunakan teknik Simpel random sampling. Kemudian data dianalisis menggunakan uji-t berpasangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengetahuan responden meningkat setelah diberikan konseling sebanyak 10 orang (23,2%). Hasil uji-t berpasangan diperoleh nilai Mean Rank -3,163 dan nilai p=0,000 (pâ‰¤0,05). Setelah diberikan konseling terjadi perubahan sikap responden sebanyak 12 orang (27,9%). Hasil uji-t berpasangan diperoleh nilai Mean Rank -2,880 dan nilai p=0,000 (pâ‰¤0,05). Kesimpulan ada pengaruh konseling tentang ASI Eksklusif terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap ibu hamil trimester ke III di Puskesmas Biromaru. Saran bagi Puskesmas Biromaru diharapkan bagi membuat jadwal konseling tentang ASI dan mengembangkan metode konseling sehingga ibu dapat lebih termotivasi untuk menyusui bayinya dengan baik.

The flash flood disaster hit Galumpang Village, Aung Village and Bajungan Village in Tolitoli Regency, Central Sulawesi on Wednesday morning 23 March 2022. Due to the large number of victims of flash floods and the urgent needs of victims of flash floods, the Civitas Academic of Poltekkes Kemenkes Palu provided humanitarian aid for victims of flash floods in Tolitoli Regency, Central Sulawesi. Humanitarian assistance in the form of ready-to-eat food, rice, Toothpaste, Soap, Sunlight, Shampoo, Sweetened Condensed Milk, Tea, Sugar, Bucket, Dipper, Mask and Pampers Children under two. The assistance was handed over by the Chief Community Service Officer to the Head of Galumpang Village on April 1, 2022 at the Disaster Management Command Post in Galumpang Village, Dakopamean District, Tolitoli Regency, Central Sulawesi. The flash flood victim’s community as beneficiaries have received assistance from the Poltekkes Kemenkes Palu Academic Community through Community Service activities. ABSTRAK Bencana banjir bandang telah menghantam Desa Galumpang, Desa Aung dan Desa Bajungan di Kabupaten Tolitoli, Sulawesi Tengah pada Rabu dini hari tanggal 23 Maret 2022. Oleh karena besarnya jumlah korban banjir bandang dan kebutuhan korban banjir bandang yang mendesak, maka Civitas Akademika Poltekkes Kemenkes Palu memberikan bantuan kemanusiaan korban banjir bandang di Kabupaten Tolitoli Sulawesi Tengah. Bantuan kemanusian berupa makanan siap saji, beras, Pasta Gigi, Sabun, Sunlight, Shampoo, Susu Kental Manis, Teh, Gula Pasir, Ember, Gayung, masker dan Pampers Baduta. Bantuan diserahkan oleh Ketua Pelaksana Pengabdian Masyarakat kepada Kepala Desa Galumpang pada tanggal 01 April 2022 di Posko Induk Penanggulangan Bencana Desa Galumpang Kecamatan Dakopamean Kabupaten Tolitoli, Sulawesi Tengah. Masyarakat korban banjir bandang sebagai penerima manfaat telah menerima bantuan dari Civitas Akademika Poltekkes Kemenkes Palu melalui kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat.
