Abstract

Online learning events carried out for students with ADHD certainly cause children to experience more difficulties, but parents also experience complex problems in assisting children's online learning during Covid-19. According to Ryff, mental well-being consists of six distinct dimensions. This study aims to determine the mental well-being of parents of ADHD children aged 6-12 years who are undergoing online learning based on Ryff's theory. This study uses a qualitative research design. The results of this study indicate that the parents' condition of mental well-being is quite low. Parents are still able to organize and make decisions when there is online learning. However, online learning affects the acceptance of their situation, fosters good relationships with others, manages and takes advantage of existing opportunities, sees the meaning of experiences before and after accompanying children to learn online and is not aware of their potential.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of teaching materials used in each class program on the Edufic.id online platform. In addition, this study also aims to identify the PAI learning strategies applied and analyze the implications of applying these strategies on students' learning experiences and parental involvement in supporting their children's development. This research uses a qualitative method with a virtual ethnography approach. Data collection techniques obtained by online observation through posting content uploaded by the Edufic.id Instagram account platform. The results of this study indicate that the PAI learning strategy on the Edufic.id online platform is carried out in several ways namely, first, learning strategies by integrating the United Kingdom curriculum with the Islamic curriculum of Al-Azhar, Egypt. Second, the selection of learning methods that are adapted to the characteristics of children’s developmental age (fun-based learning). Third, the use of digital media in learning aims to create a more interactive learning process, and fourth, online-based evaluation strategies that involve parents, so that parents can observe their children’s learning development holistically.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19, membawa perubahan dalam berbagai bidang hidup manusia secara global. Dunia pendidikan turut mengalami imbasnya, sehingga belajar secara daring atau dalam jaringan menjadi satu pilihan yang tidak bisa dielakkan. Teknologi komunikasi berkontribusi secara siknifikan dalam mengatasi situasi belajar selama pandemi ini. Tetapi perangkat teknologi yang baik, tidak cukup untuk menyelesaikan masalah dalam bidang pendidikan, karena akibat pandemi baik orang tua dan anak samasama mengalami tekanan secara psikologis. Tekanan ini membuat timbulnya masalah dalam komunikasi antara orang tua atau pendamping dan anak. Ada banyak peristiwa yang terjadi, sebagai akibat perubahan yang drastis, orang tua harus siap bersinergi dengan guru dalam mengajar anak selama masa pandemi ini. Orang tua harus terlibat aktif berada di antara anak dan guru supaya proses belajar berjalan. Untuk situasi ini maka dari pihak orang tua atau pendamping harus memiliki kemampuan berkomunikasisecara empatik sehingga bisa membantu anak belajar daring dengan lebih baik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan kajian literature, dengan mengggunakan beragam sumber yang relevan untuk kasus yang diteliti dan menganalisa berbagai data yang diperoleh. Temuan dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut, bahwa sesuai dengan dengan UU Nomor 52 Tahun 2009, tentang Perkembangan Kependudukan dan Pembangunan Keluarga, maka orang tua harus membangun komunikasi dengan anak. Komunikasi empati menjadi sebuah keharusan untuk dipraktekkan dalam pendampingan anak belajar secara daring, sehingga anak-anak bisa melewati masa pandemi ini dengan baik dan terhindar dari masalah psikososial.[The COVID-19 pandemic has brought changes in many aspects of living globally. It also impacts the education world, leading to the inevitable choice of online learning. Communication technology contributes significantly to cope with learning issues during the pandemic. However, devices with great technology are not sufficient in solving educational concerns as parents and children both suffer from stress. This causes problems in communication between parents (or other companions) and hildren. Drastic changes have driven parents to collaborate with teachers to educate children in the pandemic. Parents must actively engage between teachers and children to ensure a smooth learning process. In this situation, parents or companions must own empathetic communication skills to help children learn better online. This research employs the literature review from various relevant sources and data to the case studied. The finding from this research is that parents should communicate with children as suggested by Law Number 52 of 2009 on the Development of Population and Family. Empathetic communication should be applied when accompanying them in online learning so that they may cope well with the pandemic without any psychosocial issues]

Abstract

The objective of this research is to provide a depiction of the effects of online science education on children between the ages of 5 and 6 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically in relation to the development of science learning abilities in this age group. This research aims to investigate the challenges and barriers encountered during the execution of science education for children aged 5–6 years at Barunawati 3 Samarinda Kindergarten. The research employs a case study methodology, which centers on the individuals involved in a particular teacher's online science learning case, as a means of adapting to crisis situations. The Barunawati 3 Samarinda Kindergarten has been accredited as "Good" based on the school's established criteria for evaluation. The study employed the interaction model proposed by Milles and Huberman to analyze the data collection methods, which included direct interviews, direct observation, and documentation, with a sample of one teacher, three parents, and three students. The findings indicate that the effects of incorporating online science education were facilitated via WhatsApp Video Calls and assignments completed by students with parental involvement. Additionally, the study examined student reactions during learning activities and the outcomes of instructional methods that did not employ digital learning resources. Hence, the findings of this research offer valuable insights for educational institutions to enhance their online science education programs, thereby facilitating a smooth transition of children to formal schooling.

Abstract

This study is to determine the effectiveness of children's learning time when the role of the teacher is taken over by the parents as a controller of children's learning at home. This research is a qualitative exploratory research with an inductive approach using social situations involving three elements, namely: place, actor and activity. Respondents in this study involved 15 educational institutions, teachers of study groups aged 4-6 years, parents and students at kindergartens in Makassar City. The data analysis used thematic analysis and was presented in a descriptive form. The results show that the use of the effective learning time during the COVID-19 pandemic had decreased significantly by 200 percent from the average learning time of children per week, from 900 minutes of direct learning to 300 minutes in online learning. The change in effective time is due to the adjustment of the home learning policy, the lack of readiness of schools in implementing online learning systems, the support of teachers and parents, and the availability of school and parent facilities as well as infrastructure related to the implementation of online learning systems.

Abstract

Since the covid outbreak, online learning has been widely implemented and comprehensively applied. Problems with student participation in the teaching and learning process are quite common. The goal of this research was to see how efficient the case study learning method was in increasing online lecture activity in Child and Adolescent Development Psychology class 3A at BKI UIN Surakarta. Observation, interviews, and questionnaires were employed as part of the qualitative method. The implementation or application of case study learning methods in online lectures begins with providing short but solid material. Problems related to the material are given to be solved together. Educators will become facilitators by allowing students to express opinions, feedback, or questions. This study also discovered that student activity rose, notably in terms of learning enthusiasm, confidence, and optimism.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of parents in assisting social skills learning activities in online learning in Kindergarten (TK) age children. The reason for taking this research is because of the physical distancing policy which makes social activities limited. At the same time, making children's play needs become unfulfilled. So it demands not to interact directly with their friends socially. Usually studying happily at school, meeting and socializing with teachers and friends, now they are forced to study in unusual conditions, namely learning from home. The method used in this research is a survey method with quantitative research. The data collection instrument used a closed statement with these indicators adjusted to what the role of parents and those faced by children in the Covid-19 pandemic condition and distributed online. In this study, 44 parent respondents were collected from the results of distributing questionnaires via WhatsApp, Facebook broadcasts. Based on the results of the study, it was found that knowing the role of parents in assisting learning activities for social skills in online learning for Kindergarten-aged children cannot be separated from the roles and responsibilities of parents during the current pandemic which requires children to learn, play, and play. interact at home accompanied by parents.

Abstract

This current study aims to document the challenges encountered by children in adapting to the learning applications in online learning. A literature study is used to answer the research question. The data was obtained from a systematic search in the Google scholar. From the search, 23 articles from 2000 – 2021 were gathered as the research data. To analyze the data, a content analysis was implemented. The findings revealed that the children met the difficulties because they tend to have short concentration span and the limitation of learning device and signal stability. Moreover, less parents’ control causes young learners disoriented while using the applications. Surprisingly, the students did not face hindrance in relation to the applications use. Most of them adapted quite easily in using the applications. This implies that children nowadays are very adaptive towards technology and are easier to learn through diverse platforms in online learning. Limitations and future recommendations are also presented.

Abstract

Cognitive learning during the COVID-19 pandemic encountered many obstacles, but the use of various gadgets could be an effective solution in early childhood learning, especially to prepare them to enter the elementary school level. This study aims to describe the online cognitive learning process (OCL) in early childhood during the COVID-19 and new era of the pandemic through integrated technology and hybrid learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study involving two ECE teachers and one principal. Data analysis using Miles and Huberman models. The findings of this study explain the importance of the teacher's role in OCL and its constraints, how parent-teacher collaboration is the key to successful cognitive improvement through online learning, and the implementation of OCL through effective learning to prevent learning loss. Further research in distance and hybrid learning, especially for early childhood, is expected to give birth to various new learning models and methods that are integrated with technology towards online teaching-learning when needed. Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the learning interest of elementary school students in Kemaduh Village, Baron District, during the COVID-19 pandemic, through a door-to-door online learning assistance method. The primary objective of this initiative was to provide direct learning support to students, especially in remote areas where access to technology and internet services is limited. The community service involved teachers, parents, and local community members in a collaborative effort to deliver personalized guidance to students, helping them overcome the challenges posed by online learning. The results showed a significant improvement in student engagement, understanding of learning materials, and parental involvement in supporting their children's education. This approach highlights the importance of community-based strategies in addressing educational inequalities during a crisis. The findings suggest that such door-to-door assistance can effectively increase student motivation and academic performance, even in areas with limited resources
