Abstract

Abstract. UMKM are businesses that have the characteristics of a region with various types of categories. The number of categories provides obstacles for the community in choosing the UMKM they want to visit. Mapping and sorting UMKM location in Bireuen Regency needs to be done to make it easier for people to choose UMKM and display routes to the location of these UMKM. The author built a Geographic Information System (GIS) using the A* algorithm which aims to sort the closest UMKM according to category and display the closest route to the location. The data used consists of 320 with a division of 7 culinary categories, 2 clothing categories and 2 handicraft (craf). The A* algorithm is the calculation of the lowest estimated cost f(n) by summing the path distance between 2 road intersection points and the heuristic value h(n) of the current node as a basis for finding the shortest route and providing the user with information on which nodes around the user can be passed by comparing the smallest f(n) distance.  The results of research on 10 sample data show that the A* algorithm is able to sort the closest route with a MAPE accuracy rate of 1.1%.

Abstract

Big Data Analytics (BDA) is increasingly helping Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) improve resilience, efficiency, and decision-making. This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) explores the adoption of BDA in SMEs, highlighting its benefits, challenges, and key trends. Using the PRISMA framework, a structured search in Scopus identified 60 studies, with 42 meeting the inclusion criteria (2015–2025). The findings show that BDA supports SMEs in crisis management, supply chain optimization, and customer analytics, contributing to long-term business sustainability. However, several barriers limit its adoption, including high costs, technical complexity, and data security concerns. To understand its impact, this study applies Resource-Based View (RBV), Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE), and Dynamic Capabilities View (DCV) frameworks. To address adoption challenges, government support through financial incentives, improved digital infrastructure, and specialized training programs is recommended. SMEs should focus on cloud-based analytics, strategic collaborations, and building a data-driven culture to maximize BDA benefits. Although BDA has great potential, its adoption among SMEs remains uneven. Future research should explore its combination with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to enhance competitiveness and drive innovation in a fast-changing business environment

Abstract

The regulation of cigarette advertising on television is a crucial issue in protecting public health, particularly in efforts to reduce the prevalence of smoking in Indonesia. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the Minister of Health Regulation No. 56/2017, which mandates health warnings and health information on tobacco product packaging, in mitigating the negative impacts of cigarette advertisements especially among vulnerable groups such as children and adolescents. Employing a normative method with a legislative approach alongside descriptive analysis, the research reveals that while the regulation has successfully imposed restrictions on both the airtime and content of cigarette advertisements, its implementation is hindered by several challenges. These obstacles include insufficient oversight, the absence of stringent sanctions, and resistance from the tobacco industry. Furthermore, the study finds that despite offering initial protection, exposure to cigarette advertising on television continues to contribute to the normalization of smoking behavior within the community. Comparative analysis with regulations in other nations, notably Australia, indicates that a complete ban on cigarette advertising is more effective in lowering smoking prevalence. In light of these findings, the study recommends enhancing monitoring mechanisms, enforcing stricter sanctions, and considering a total ban on television cigarette advertisements to further reinforce public health protection.

Abstract

Blockchain technology has emerged as a transformative innovation in information systems, offering enhanced security, efficiency, and transparency. However, its adoption faces multiple barriers, including technical, organizational, and regulatory challenges. This study aims to systematically review the integration of blockchain technology in information systems, analyzing its security enhancements, adoption barriers, and efficiency improvements. A systematic literature review was conducted using scholarly databases, including IEEE Xplore, Scopus, Web of Science, and Springer, covering studies published between 2019 and 2024. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology was applied to screen and select relevant studies. The findings indicate that blockchain significantly improves security features in information systems. For example, one study showed that blockchain’s cryptographic mechanisms reduced fraud rates by 30% in healthcare transactions (Aboagye et al., 2023). Additionally, blockchain’s decentralization decreased system vulnerabilities by 25% in financial applications. However, key barriers such as high implementation costs, regulatory uncertainties, and scalability issues hinder widespread adoption. Moreover, blockchain enhances efficiency by reducing transaction times by up to 40% and improving data integrity. Blockchain technology holds immense potential for securing and optimizing information systems. Overcoming adoption barriers through standardized regulations, technological advancements, and organizational readiness is crucial for its widespread implementation. Future research should explore scalability solutions and real-world applications to enhance blockchain integration in various sectors.

Abstract

The laboratory is a place to conduct scientific research, experiments, measurements, or scientific training. FMIPA UNNES has several laboratories distributed in each department to support student lectures. Through the implementation of practicum in the laboratory, students are expected to be able to find a concept, foster scientific attitudes, and critical thinking skills. Good laboratory management is expected to be able to utilize laboratory resources effectively and efficiently. Laboratory equipment must be ensured to function properly and be ready to be used for practicum. To support this, it is necessary to monitor the condition of the equipment and immediately repair the equipment if any damage is found. The current obstacle is monitoring tool repairs manually, so there are shortcomings such as poor documentation, and equipment conditions that cannot be monitored online. In this study, an information system for monitoring the maintenance of laboratory equipment in the departments in the FMIPA UNNES environment will be built. The research method begins with a literature study, initial data collection and observation, EAP-based system design, system testing, system analysis, and system evaluation. This study uses the SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) approach which is used to develop a product for the Monitoring Information System for the Maintenance of Laboratory Equipment. Testing is done using black box testing. From the results of development and testing, it can be concluded that the system can be used to simplify the process of managing laboratory equipment with a UAT value of 88% suitable for use.
