Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study reviews previous research on the disclosure of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) information in sustainability accounting reports of public companies in Indonesia. The main purpose of this paper is to summarize key discussions in the literature, identify commonly used theories and research methods, and highlight existing research gaps related to CSR and ESG disclosure practices. Materials and Methods. This study employs a literature review approach by collecting academic articles from national and international journals. The reviewed studies were published in reputable journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and SINTA within the last ten years. Articles were selected based on their relevance to CSR disclosure, ESG disclosure, sustainability accounting, and public companies in Indonesia. The selected literature was systematically analyzed and classified based on research topics, theoretical frameworks, research methods, and key findings to identify overall patterns and research trends. Results. The review indicates a significant increase in CSR and ESG disclosure research in Indonesia over the past decade. Most studies apply legitimacy theory, stakeholder theory, and agency theory as the main theoretical foundations to explain corporate disclosure behavior. Quantitative approaches, particularly content analysis combined with regression or panel data analysis, dominate the research methods, while qualitative and mixed-method studies remain limited. Empirical findings generally suggest that CSR and ESG disclosure are positively associated with firm value, financial performance, and investor responses, although the quality and consistency of disclosures vary widely across companies and industries. Regulatory developments, such as mandatory sustainability reporting requirements, have encouraged broader disclosure practices; however, disclosure quality and standardization remain ongoing challenges. Conclusion. This review highlights several research gaps, including the limited use of integrated theoretical perspectives, insufficient attention to disclosure quality and assurance, and the lack of longitudinal and comparative studies. Future research is encouraged to explore the effectiveness of ESG disclosure, its real impact on corporate sustainability performance, and the role of institutional and regulatory factors in improving sustainability reporting practices in Indonesia.

Abstract

Background: Hospital Management Information Systems (HMIS) are increasingly recognized as essential tools for improving administrative efficiency in healthcare settings. Rumah Sakit Islam Malahayati (RSI Malahayati) in Medan, Indonesia adopted an integrated HMIS to streamline its administrative processes; however, the extent to which the system has effectively improved service delivery efficiency remains inadequately evaluated. This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of HMIS on administrative service efficiency at RSI Malahayati, Medan, in 2026. Methods: A qualitative study employing a phenomenological approach guided by the Colaizzi method was conducted from September to December 2025. The study was set at RSI Malahayati, a 150-bed Islamic private hospital in Medan, North Sumatra. Purposive sampling was applied to recruit 18 participants, including hospital administrators, information technology staff, medical records officers, and front-line administrative personnel. Inclusion criteria required direct engagement with HMIS for a minimum of six months. In-depth, semi-structured interviews were conducted face-to-face, averaging 55 minutes per session. Interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed verbatim, and analyzed using NVivo 12 software. Data saturation was confirmed at the 16th interview. Trustworthiness was ensured through triangulation, member checking, and peer debriefing, in conformity with COREQ standards. Results: Four major themes emerged from data analysis: (1) Enhanced administrative workflow integration, characterized by reduced manual data entry and inter-departmental communication delays; (2) Barriers to optimal system utilization, encompassing inadequate technical training, system downtime incidents, and user resistance; (3) Impact on patient service responsiveness, reflecting shorter waiting times and improved patient registration accuracy; and (4) Organizational and cultural factors shaping HMIS adoption, including leadership support and Islamic institutional values influencing staff acceptance. Participants consistently acknowledged improvements in data accuracy and reporting efficiency, though persistent technical and human resource challenges limited system performance. Conclusion: HMIS implementation at RSI Malahayati has demonstrably improved administrative service efficiency through enhanced workflow integration and data management. However, sustainable efficiency gains require addressing identified barriers through comprehensive staff training, technical infrastructure reinforcement, and culturally responsive change management strategies tailored to Islamic hospital settings.

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in the Indonesian economy with significant contributions to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and employment absorption. In today's digital era, the application of information technology (IT) is a potential solution to overcome these challenges. However, the implementation of IT in the MSME sector still faces various obstacles, especially in terms of finance and limited technical capabilities. This study uses a descriptive-correlational survey design to show how information technology is used in MSMEs and measures the correlation or relationship between IT variables and operational efficiency variables. The data are collected and analysed qualitatively and statistically. The results of the study show that the use of IT has a positive and significant impact on the operational efficiency of MSMEs, particularly in saving time, reducing operational costs, and increasing productivity. In addition, the positive correlation between IT implementation and operating efficiency shows that the higher the use, the greater the impact on improving MSME performance. Comparative studies between sectors or regions can enrich insights into the effectiveness of IT and provide more specific recommendations to support sustainable digitalisation in this sector.

Abstract

Primary Health Care (PHC) serves as the frontline of national health systems, making digital transformation essential for improving service quality, efficiency, and coverage. This study aims to assess the level of Information Technology (IT) adoption and evaluate supporting management practices at Pusat Kesehatan Masyarakat (Puskesmas) in Indonesia. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed using official secondary data obtained from government institutions, including the Ministry of Health, BPJS Kesehatan, and the Central Statistics Agency, with West Java Province designated as the study area. The analysis encompassed five dimensions: infrastructure availability, utilization of clinical information systems (SIMPUS/ASIK), IT human resource capacity, service performance indicators, and IT management maturity. The results indicate a high adoption rate of basic infrastructure such as internet access and computers; however, the utilization of core clinical systems, including ASIK and PCare, varies considerably across Puskesmas. Limited availability of dedicated IT personnel and insufficient IT management training for leadership were identified as key constraints. Overall, successful digital transformation in PHC depends not only on adequate infrastructure but also on strengthened management practices, particularly in human resource capacity, data governance, and effective use of clinical information systems to achieve improved service outcomes.
