Abstract

The development of digital services has transformed the pattern of interaction between librarians and library users, shifting from face-to-face communication to technology-based communication. This transformation creates new challenges in maintaining interpersonal closeness and the quality of information services. This study aims to analyze the application of Symbolic Interaction Theory, Social Exchange Theory, and Dramaturgical Theory in understanding the dynamics of librarians’ interpersonal communication in the digital library environment. This research employs a literature review method with a qualitative analytical approach. Data sources were obtained from research findings, journal articles, and relevant scholarly books published between 2018 and 2025. The analysis was conducted through the stages of identification, classification, and synthesis of literature findings, focusing on the application of the main concepts of the three social theories within the context of digital library services. The results indicate that the three social theories provide complementary conceptual frameworks. Symbolic Interaction Theory explains how the meaning of services is constructed through symbols and digital language; Social Exchange Theory highlights the reciprocal balance between librarians and library users in the process of information sharing; while Dramaturgical Theory describes the role strategies of librarians in presenting a professional image in the digital environment. The integration of these three theories strengthens the understanding of the importance of interpersonal communication based on empathy, trust, and professionalism in building effective and humanistic information services in the digital era. This research contributes to the development of a theoretical framework in the study of library communication and provides a conceptual basis for enhancing the interpersonal competencies of digital librarians in the future.

Abstract

Indonesia's National Sports Grand Design (the Desain Besar Olahraga Nasional - DBON) positions digitalization as its core governance instrument, operationalized through the mandated Sports Personnel and Organization Information System (the Sistem Informasi Tenaga dan Organisasi Keolahragaan, SITENOR). However, implementing centralized digital policies in complex, multi-stakeholder environments often creates a significant gap between strategic vision and ground-level reality. This study evaluates the effectiveness of this digitalization policy by examining SITENOR’s implementation. Employing a qualitative interpretivist paradigm, this research conducted in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with key policymakers from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), system developers, and representatives from national sports federations. Data were analyzed using the integrated lenses of the McKinsey 7S organizational framework and the End-User Computing Satisfaction model. The findings reveal a profound "digitalization paradox." While the central strategy and technical system (the "hard" elements) are well-defined, implementation is critically undermined by weaknesses in "soft" organizational elements: a misalignment of shared values (compliance vs. data-driven culture), passive local leadership, a severe deficit in dedicated staff and digital skills, and consequent low user satisfaction regarding data accuracy, ease of use, and timeliness. SITENOR’s development is assessed as stalled at an incomplete cataloguing and transactional stage, with minimal vertical and horizontal integration. The effectiveness of the DBON digitalization policy is significantly constrained not by technology but by socio-organizational and governance gaps. Successful transformation requires a strategic pivot from a top-down, compliance-based model to a co-creative, capacity-sensitive approach that builds human infrastructure and fosters genuine data-driven values across the sports ecosystem.

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of digital pluralism on political party preferences from the perspective of Islamic Human Resource Management (HRM) in West Sumatra. This study aims to examine how pluralistic narratives on social media shape the perceptions and political choices of people with a strong religious-cultural basis. This study uses a quantitative descriptive-correlational approach, data collected through a survey of active social media users. The results of the statistical analysis indicate that the level of digital pluralism and Islamic HRM ethics are in the high category, while party preferences based on pluralistic imagery are classified as moderate. There is a significant correlation between digital pluralism and party preferences, with Islamic HRM ethics acting as a mediating variable. These findings indicate that the influence of pluralism in digital politics is only effective when integrated with substantive ethical values. The implication is that strengthening ethical human resource governance and leadership with integrity are important prerequisites for increasing democratic participation and political professionalism in the context of Islamic society.

Abstract

Large language models have the potential to improve the quality of information services in higher education environments through responsive and natural interactions. However, LLMs are prone to generating answers that are not supported by valid knowledge sources due to knowledge cut-off limitations. This study implements Retrieval-Augmented Generation on LLMs to build an information service chatbot for the Indonesian University of Science and Technology (USTI). RAG is built using a hybrid retrieval mechanism that combines dense retrieval and sparse retrieval (BM25) through reciprocal rank fusion and is equipped with cross-encoder reranking. The knowledge base is compiled from official and public documents obtained through the USTI website. The evaluation was conducted using 13 test queries by comparing several configurations to analyze the contribution of each component. The evaluation results show that the hybrid retrieval configuration produces the best retrieval performance with Precision@3 of 71.7%, Recall@3 of 87.5%, and NDCG@3 of 96.3%. In addition, the application of RAG improved the quality of answers compared to LLM without retrieval, as shown by an increase in BERTScore-F1 from 84.8% to 89.4% and a faithfulness score of 88.8%. These findings indicate that RAG integration improves the relevance of LLM answers to source documents, with the hybrid configuration providing an optimal balance between retrieval quality and faithfulness.

Abstract

The Loan Origination System (LOS) has become a key infrastructure in Indonesia’s digital mortgage lending ecosystem, where technological innovation increasingly intersects with regulatory governance. This study examines LOS through an integrated perspective that bridges information systems architecture and legal-regulatory frameworks. Using a qualitative normative-analytical approach grounded in systematic document analysis (2021–2026) and thematic synthesis, the research identifies a triple-layer compliance gap: a regulatory gap in technical specification, an implementation gap between regulatory intent and system design, and a legal defensibility gap concerning evidentiary robustness. The study proposes a conceptual legal-by-design framework integrating technical security, regulatory alignment, and evidentiary considerations within a unified architectural model. Rather than offering a validated industry standard, the framework serves as an analytical proposal to inform future empirical research and institutional system development.

Abstract

Home Industry Glagahan, which produces traditional kerupuk (crackers), faces several challenges in managing sales, stock recording, and product distribution, as these processes were previously carried out manually, leading to errors in record-keeping, loss of transaction data, and difficulties in generating structured sales reports. To address these issues, this study developed a Web-Based Sales Information System for Kerupuk Products using the Laravel framework supported by a modular e-commerce package, applying the Waterfall development method that includes requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and evaluation stages. The system provides features such as an online product catalog, automated transaction recording, integrated stock management, and sales reports based on specific periods, while system functionality was tested using the Black-box Testing method to ensure that it meets user requirements. The results show that the system successfully assists the business owner in managing sales and stock data more effectively compared to the previous manual method, although limitations remain, such as the lack of fully implemented online payment integration and a relatively simple user interface. In the future, this system can be further enhanced by integrating courier services, digital payment methods, and a more flexible user interface to support wider market expansion.
