Abstract

The study aims to analyze the constraints in the implementation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) learning across three senior high schools in Metro City. A qualitative approach with a multi-site design was employed. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using cross-site analysis techniques. The findings indicate that teachers generally possess basic conceptual knowledge but face limitations in technical skills and access to continuous training. As a result, instructional strategies remain largely lecture-based, with minimal integration of technology. Students experience difficulties in understanding GIS concepts and show relatively low engagement due to the lack of practical activities. In addition, limitations in facilities, software availability, infrastructure, and institutional support further hinder effective implementation. This study concludes that GIS learning challenges are systemic and require integrated efforts, including improving teacher competence, enhancing training programs, promoting interactive learning strategies, and strengthening institutional support.

Abstract

This study addresses the research problem of inconsistent empirical findings regarding the determinants of earnings management, particularly the roles of information asymmetry, intellectual capital, and leverage in Indonesian manufacturing firms. Despite extensive prior research, limited consensus exists on how these factors simultaneously influence managerial discretion in financial reporting. This study aims to examine the interplay among these variables in shaping earnings management practices. Adopting a quantitative design, this study utilises balanced panel data from manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange over the period 2015–2024. The analysis employs a Fixed Effects Model, selected through Chow and Hausman tests, to control for unobserved heterogeneity across firms. The findings indicate that information asymmetry has a statistically significant negative effect on earnings management, suggesting that improved transparency constrains opportunistic reporting behavior, while intellectual capital and leverage exhibit statistically significant positive effects, indicating that firms with greater intangible resources and higher financial pressure are more likely to engage in earnings management practices. Overall, this study provides stronger empirical support that earnings management is shaped by informational conditions, firm capabilities, and financial constraints, offering important implications for strengthening corporate governance and enhancing the reliability of financial reporting in emerging markets.

Abstract

Previous studies have shown that an ASiR-V rate of 60% is optimal for contrast-enhanced abdominal CT scans in patients with kidney stones. In this study, however, the ASiR-V variations tested were 60%, 70%, and 80%, with a focus on clinical intra-abdominal tumors. The objective was to measure the optimal signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) values for CT images of these tumors. The research employed a quantitative retrospective experimental design with a sample of 10 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The findings reveal notable differences in SNR, CNR, and Hounsfield Unit (HU) values across the ASiR-V variations, with the 70% ASiR-V showing the highest values for both SNR and CNR.

Abstract

Indonesia’s digital economy has undergone an accelerated transformation following the enactment of Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (PDP Law) and the amendment of Law No. 11 of 2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE Law) via Law No. 1 of 2024. This systematic review analyses the transformation of normative policies and the realities of regulatory implementation using a literature review method. Key findings highlight progressive regulatory synergy that is, however, hampered by a policy-practice gap, low compliance among businesses (35%), weak institutional coordination within the Personal Data Protection Commission (KPDP), and adaptation costs that burden SMEs. The Tokopedia-Akulaku data breach case study illustrates enforcement challenges, whilst private initiatives such as ‘Privacy by Design’ demonstrate the potential for collaboration. This article recommends accelerating the establishment of the Personal Data Protection Agency (KPDP), harmonising implementing regulations, conducting national digital literacy training, and adopting a multi-stakeholder model to bridge the regulatory-practice gap, thereby supporting the target of the digital economy contributing 25% of GDP by 2029.

Abstract

Warehouse management in car rental businesses requires an efficient system to manage vehicle storage and retrieval processes. However, many existing systems still rely on manual recording or focus primarily on transaction management without integrating inventory prioritization methods, resulting in inefficient vehicle rotation and increased operational errors. This study aims to develop a web-based car storage warehouse information system that implements the Last In First Out (LIFO) method to improve storage efficiency and decision-making processes. The system is developed using the Research and Development (R&D) approach and the Waterfall model, with implementation based on PHP and MySQL. The LIFO mechanism is applied by prioritizing vehicles based on the most recent entry timestamp. The evaluation results show that the system reduces vehicle selection time from 3-5 minutes in manual processes to 5-10 seconds, representing an efficiency improvement of approximately 95%, while achieving 100% consistency in vehicle selection. This study contributes by integrating LIFO-based inventory control into a practical web-based warehouse system, providing a more structured, efficient, and accurate solution for vehicle storage management.
