Abstract

Modern radiology may be classified as a pivotal determinant in the early detection of chronic diseases, particularly through advances in imaging technology and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI). This study aims to examine the contribution of CT, MRI, ultrasound, and PET to identifying subclinical abnormalities and to evaluate the impact of AI in enhancing diagnostic accuracy and operational efficiency. Employing a systematic and PRISMA-based scoping review methodology, data were collected from PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and IEEE Xplore (2015–2025). The analysis indicates that AI-assisted mammography achieved an AUC of 0.92 with 95% sensitivity and 78% specificity, while low-dose CT screening reduced lung cancer mortality by up to 20%. MRI- and ultrasound-based radiomics improved non-invasive detection of hepatic and renal fibrosis with >85% accuracy. Molecular PET and multimodal imaging demonstrated potential for detecting inflammatory and metabolic alterations at an early stage. Furthermore, AI improved interpretation efficiency by approximately 30% and reduced diagnostic errors by 25%. Nonetheless, data bias, limited external validation, and ethical issues in data governance remain persistent challenges. These findings affirm the strategic role of modern radiology as the cornerstone of preventive medicine and underscore the necessity for multidisciplinary collaboration to develop a standardized, ethically governed multimodal data ecosystem.

Abstract

Background: The MRI knee joint examination procedure for clinical ACL rupture in the Radiology Installation of Sidoarjo Regional Hospital often adds a T2 Mapping MR Cartigram sequence. T2 mapping MR Cartigram is a special sequence for detecting damage to the collagen component of the cartilage matrix using a quantitative approach method by producing a color map. The aim of this research is to determine the procedure, reasons for use, and diagnostic information resulting from the T2 mapping MR Cartigram sequence. Method: This type of research is qualitative research with a case study approach. The research was conducted in March-June 2022 at the Radiology Installation of Sidoarjo Regional Hospital. Research subjects included three patients, three radiographers, one radiologist, and one sending doctor. Data was collected by means of observation, interviews and documentation and then analyzed using an interactive model system method which would be processed in the form of transcripts, then identified, reduced and categorized the data and made open coding so that conclusions could be drawn. Results: The results of the study show that the clinical MRI knee joint examination procedure for ACL rupture at Sidoarjo District Hospital includes patient preparation, equipment preparation, examination techniques and routine sequences used such as PD Fatsat, T2, T1, STIR, T2*GRE, PD 3D Cube, and additional T2 Mapping MR Cartiram sequence. The use of the T2 mapping MR Cartigram sequence aims to determine the effect of ACL rupture on cartilage damage quantitatively and objectively by placing an ROI in the cartilage area so that it can provide diagnostic information including early detection of cartilage damage, increased water content, and cartilage degenerative processes. The results of the interpretation of the analysis carried out by the Sidoarjo Regional Hospital Radiologist were only subjective, namely looking at the resulting color map to see whether it looked even and homogeneous. Conclusion: Basically, existing saturation measurements are not always the same, they will depend on the patient's diagnosis for which the action will be taken. This saturation measurement uses the AVOXimeter 1000E. no less important in the continuity of actions in the cath lab room.

Abstract

Microcephaly is a condition in which a child's head circumference is smaller than the average for age and gender. The diagnosis can be made using a CT Scan, which should be adjusted to the patient's age according to the IAEA protocol (2012), with an ideal effective dose of 1.8–3.8 mSv for a tube current of 200 mAs. However, at the Radiology Installation of Roemani Muhammadiyah Hospital Semarang, the examination was carried out without differentiating age, resulting in an excess dose of 9.317 mSv. This study aims to evaluate the procedures, diagnostic information, and radiation protection in plain head CT Scans of pediatric patients with microcephaly. This study used a qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation of 3 radiographers, 1 PPR, and 1 radiologist. The results showed no protection for patients and only basic protection for companions. CT Scans showed decreased brain volume and ventriculomegaly. It is recommended that the CT Scan protocol be adjusted to the child's age to reduce the radiation dose, through the setting of exposure factors, slice thickness, and pitch.

Abstract

The Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) is an essential instrument in supporting data management and enhancing healthcare services more effectively. This system is designed to provide accurate, fast, and reliable information, thereby facilitating decision-making processes within hospital environments. The Radiology Department of Dr. R. Soetijono Regional General Hospital, Blora, has adopted a WebView-based SIMRS as part of its digital transformation efforts. The procedure begins with patient data management initiated by referring physicians. The data are then imported into the SIMRS, which is automatically connected to the radiology department, thereby simplifying the workflow of patient examination services. The objective of this study is to evaluate the benefits and effectiveness of using SIMRS Pilar compared to SIMRS WebView, particularly in the context of radiology services. This research employed a quantitative method using a questionnaire consisting of 30 items, which was distributed to 13 radiographers directly involved in service delivery through SIMRS. The findings indicate that SIMRS WebView significantly improves service efficiency. This is reflected in faster patient data entry and access, smoother integration between hospital units, and a reduction in errors and data redundancy. Validity testing of the research instrument showed that all items had correlation values above 0.444 with significance levels below 0.50, confirming their validity. In addition, respondents considered the new system more practical compared to the previous one, as it allows access through devices connected to the hospital’s internal network. Nevertheless, the study also identified several technical challenges, such as unstable network connectivity and the need for adaptation among users who were not yet fully familiar with web-based technology. Overall, the study concludes that the implementation of SIMRS WebView in the Radiology Department of Dr. R. Soetijono Regional General Hospital is effective and beneficial in improving service quality.
