Abstract

The career transition programme is a programme implemented to prepare students with special needs (SSN) to face future working environment. Parents are among the factors contributing to the successful completion of SSN’s career transition programme. This survey was conducted to identify the level of involvement of SSN parents in the implementation of career transition programmes in schools. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire consists of 48 items with five points Likert scale. This questionnaire was developed based on six elements of Epstein’s Parental Involvement Model: i) parenting, ii) communication, iii) decision making, iv) learning at home, v) collaboration with the community and vi) voluntary assistance. This study involved 30 respondents comprising parents of SSN who had undergone a career transition programme at Special Education Integrated Program (PPKI) at four secondary schools in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. The data were analysed descriptively using SPSS software. The findings show that parents’ involvement is high in terms of communication and voluntary assistance while their involvement in parenting, decision-making, home-based learning, and collaboration with the community is at moderate level. Parents’ education level was found to have no significant relationship with the level of parental involvement except for communication and voluntary aspects. The findings of this study can give some insights to policy makers to increase parents’ level of involvement in the context of planning and the implementation of programmes to support SSN’s readiness for the career realm. Parents are encouraged to improve their advocacy skills and awareness on the importance of their roles in the career transition.

Abstract

This study is carried out to highlight the types of pencil grips among KKBP , types of pencil grip level students with learning disabilities in primary schools. Study is to determine differences by category KKBP pencil grip . This study involves taking a pencil grip when writing by 225 respondents from seven primary schools Special Education Program Integration with learning disabilities in primary schools . A pilot study was conducted on 36 respondents in a school. The result shows students with learning disabilities Specific category recorded the highest percentage of the three types of pencil grip level of 8.4 % ( 19 students ) in mature stage , 51.6 % ( 116 students ) of the immature stage and 1.8 % ( 4 students ) for the others. Hopefully, this research can provide knowledge to educators to be more focused on how to grip a pencil when writing and occupational therapists to design more effective intervention programs and provide feedback to curriculum planners about the curriculum more effective to KKBP . The use of adaptive devices can enhance the ability of grasping the pencil pencil pencil grip towards maturity.Kajian tinjauan ini dijalankan untuk mengetengahkan jenis-jenis genggaman pensel dalam kalangan KKBP, jenis-jenis peringkat genggaman pensel murid-murid bermasalah pembelajaran di peringkat sekolah rendah. Kajian ini juga ingin menentukan perbezaan genggaman pensel mengikut kategori KKBP. Kajian ini melibatkan pengambilan cara genggaman pensel semasa menulis oleh 225 orang responden dari tujuh buah sekolah rendah yang mengikuti Program Pendidikan Khas Integrasi Bermasalah Pembelajaran di Sekolah Rendah. Kajian rintis telah dijalankan terhadap 36 orang responden di sebuah sekolah. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan kategori murid Bermasalah Pembelajaran Spesifik mencatatkan peratusan tertinggi bagi ketiga-tiga jenis peringkat genggaman pensel iaitu 8.4% (19 orang murid) bagi peringkat matang, 51.6% (116 orang murid) bagi peringkat tidak matang dan 1.8% (4 orang murid) bagi peringkat lain-lain. Diharapkan hasil kajian ini dapat memberi pengetahuan kepada pendidik untuk lebih berfokus kepada cara menggenggam pensel semasa menulis dan ahli terapi cara kerja untuk merancang program intervensi yang lebih berkesan serta memberi maklum balas kepada perancang kurikulum pendidikan tentang penggubalan kurikulum yang lebih berkesan untuk KKBP. Penggunaan alat adaptif pensel boleh meningkatkan keupayaan menggenggam pensel ke arah genggaman pensel peringkat matang.

Abstract

The research to analysis on the application of peer-mediated intervention to improve social skills at the children with learning disabilities in inclusive elementary school. Social functions in children with learning disabilities problematic as indicated by the low level of peers acceptance, tend to be isolated, lower social status among their peers of normal in inclusive elementary school. Research subjects consisted of 5 children with learning disabilities and 31 children having not learning disabilities (normal children). Results showed that children with learning disabilities have social functions which are lower than their peers who are not learning disabilities. Thus, it does not affect the substance of the inclusive school social functions of peer learning disabilities in children.Penelitian ini membahas tentang penerapan intervensi teman sebaya untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial anak berkesulitan belajar di sekolah dasar inklusif. Fungsi-fungsi sosial pada anak berkesulitan belajar bermasalah yang diindikasikan dengan rendahnya tingkat penerimaan dari teman sebaya, cenderung diisolasi, status sosial yang lebih rendah di antara teman sebayanya yang normal di sekolah dasar inklusif. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 5 anak berkesulitan belajar dan 31 orang anak bukan berkesulitan belajar (anak normal). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anak berkesulitan belajar memiliki fungsi-fungsi sosial yang lebih rendah dibandingkan teman sebayanya yang bukan berkesulitan belajar. Dengan demikian, secara substansi sekolah inklusif tidak mempengaruhi fungsi-fungsi sosial teman sebaya pada anak berkesulitan belajar.

Abstract

The research problem is how the results of learning to write sentences before and after the use of the word picture card media, as well as whether there are differences in learning outcomes before and after the use of the word picture card media. The purpose of this study was to determine the learning outcomes of students write sentences before and after the use of the word picture card media, as well as to determine whether there is difference in learning outcomes before and after picture of media use word cards to students' ability to write a sentence. This research used an experimental method "One group pre-test post-test design". The results of the analysis of the data shows the average value of the pre-test is 43, the average value of post-test is 87, and test hypotheses obtained Z = 2.9> 1.96, it concluded there is the influence of media use word cards illustrated on learning outcomes of the ability to write a sentence on students.Masalah penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sebelum dan sesudah menulis dengan media kartu gambar kata, dan apakah ada perbedaan hasil belajar sebelum dan sesudahnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa menulis kalimat sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan media kartu gambar kata, serta untuk menentukan apakah ada perbedaan hasil belajar sebelum dan sesudah gambar penggunaan kartu media kata untuk siswa ‘kemampuan menulis kalimat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen “Satu kelompok pre-test post-test design”. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan nilai rata-rata pre-test adalah 43, nilai rata-rata post-test adalah 87, dan uji hipotesis diperoleh Z = 2,9> 1,96, disimpulkan ada pengaruh penggunaan media kata kartu diilustrasikan pada hasil dari kemampuan menulis kalimat pada siswa belajar.

Abstract

Hearing impairment student has limited vocabulary mastery. It causes problems in their learning which make them difficult in understanding or comprehending teacher’s explanation. The objective of this study is to describe the student’s vocabulary mastery before and after using picture word card media and also to analyze the effect of the use of picture word card media on the student’s vocabulary mastery with hearing impairment in the fourth grade. This study is a Single Subject Research (SSR) with A-B-A design. The data collecting were spoken test, written test, observation, documentation, and then they were analyzed by descriptive-statistic analysis. The result of this study showed that the use of picture word card media gave effect toward the student’s vocabulary mastery with hearing impairment in the fourth grade.Siswa tunarungu seringkali sulit memahami materi pelajaran karena keterbatasan perbendaharaan kosakata yang dimiliki. Tujuan kegiatan penelitian yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan penguasaan kosakata siswa sebelum dan setelah penggunaan media kartu-kata bergambar, serta menganalisis pengaruh dari penggunaan media terhadap penguasaan kosakata siswa tunarungu kelas 4 SDLB. Penelitian ini menerapkan rancangan penelitian subjek tunggal (SSR), desain A-B-A. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes lisan, tes tulis, observasi, dokumentasi dan diolah menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian membuktikan ada pengaruh penggunaan media kartu kata bergambar terhadap penguasaan kosakata subjek.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the implementation of guidance and counseling services for the hearing impaired students in the special education program integration (PPKI) hearing impaired in the secondary school. The qualitative case study method was used to obtain data on these aspects. The data was collected by using the interview techniques and all the data were analyzed with the aid of N’Vivo8. The participants consisted of six guidance and counseling teachers, six special education teachers and three hearing impaired students. The study found out that the implementation of guidance and counseling services is still a lack in PPKI hearing impaired. The guidance and counseling teachers were just only doing some individual counseling while group guidance were more frequently performed. The guidance and counseling teachers are still vague in performing these services because they have no clear guidelines from the Ministry of Education. The conclusions of this study have implications in terms of the practice in guidance and counseling in PPKI hearing impaired, the preparation of the guidance and counseling teachers, the Minstry of Education, and needs further study in this field.Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti pelaksanaan perkhidmatan bimbingan dan kaunseling terhadap murid bermasalah pendengaran di sekolah menengah program pendidikan khas integrasi (PPKI) bermasalah pendengaran. Kaedah kualitatif berbentuk kajian kes telah digunakan bagi memperolehi data berkaitan aspek tersebut. Data dikumpul menggunakan teknik temu bual dan semua data dianalisis dengan bantuan perisian N’Vivo8. Peserta kajian terdiri daripada enam guru bimbingan dan kaunseling, enam guru pendidikan khas dan tiga pelajar bermasalah pendengaran. Hasil kajian mendapati pelaksanaan perkhidmatan bimbingan dan kaunseling masih kurang di PPKI bermasalah pendengaran. Guru bimbingan dan kaunseling hanya menjalankan beberapa sesi kaunseling individu manakala bimbingan kelompok lebih kerap dilaksanakan. Guru bimbingan dan kaunseling masih kabur dalam melaksanakan perkhidmatan ini kerana mereka tiada garis panduan yang jelas daripada Kementerian Pelajaran. Kesimpulan kajian ini memberi implikasi dari segi amalan perkhidmatan bimbingan dan kaunseling di PPKI bermasalah pendengaran, kesediaan guru bimbingan dan kaunseling, Kementerian Pelajaran, serta keperluan kajian lanjutan.

Abstract

penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan deskripsi tentang keefektivitasan media kereta api bagi siswa tunarungu kelas IV. Metode penelitaian yang digunakan adalah Single Subject Research (SSR) dengan model desain A-B-A. Berdasarkan pengolahan data diperoleh mean level pada fase baseline-1 sebesar 25%, mean level pada fase intervensi sebesar 84,4%, dan mean level pada fase baseline-2 sebesar 79,8%. Dalam perhitungan persentase overlap antara fase baseline-1 ke fase intervensi sebesar 0%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa media kereta api tiga dimensi terbukti afektif terhadap kemampuan menyebutkan bangun ruang pada siswa tunarungu kelas IV. This study aims to obtain a description of the effectiveness of railway media for students with hearing impairment grade IV. The research method used is Single Subject Research (SSR) with A-B-A design model. Based on data processing, the mean level in the baseline-1 phase is 25%, the mean level in the intervention phase is 84.4%, and the mean level in the baseline-2 phase is 79.8%. In the calculation of the percentage overlap between the baseline-1 phase to the intervention phase of 0%. The conclusion of this research that three-dimensional railway media proved effective to the ability to mention wake up space in grade 4 students of deaf.

Abstract

The Development of Braille Puzzle Media for Increasing The Ability of Reading and Writing for Children With Visual Impairment of 4th Grade In Elementary Special Education.The purpose of this research is developping a media that can be used to increase the reading and writing ability ofchild with visual impairment on fourth grade in elementary special education. This research was adapted by steps of Sugiyono’s model consisting of eight steps. The result of media experts 88% , matter experts 90%, practicy experts 82%, small group testing 82%. So this product braille puzzle otherwise very worthy to be used.Tujuan pengembangan ini adalah menghasilkan sebuah media sebagai sarana melatih kemampuan membaca dan menulis siswa tunanetra. Penelitian ini mengadaptasi langkah-langkah pengembangan dari Sugiyono yaitu terdiri dari 8 tahap. Hasil penilaian ahli media 88%, ahli materi 90%, ahli praktisi 82%, dan hasil uji coba kelompok kecil82%. Dengan itu produk puzzle braille dinyatakan sangat layak digunakan.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the implementation process of the LEA and to determine LEA’s influence on reading ability of slow learner. The research used an experimental method with a Single Subject Research form (SSR) A-B design. Data were analyzed by using a visual analysis of graphic technique. The results of research showed a LEA influence on reading ability. This condition was shown by reading ability evaluation at baseline (A) condition ranged from 60 % to 68 % and intervention (B) condition increased to 86 % to 92 %. Conclusion of this research is the LEA implemented using child experiences as the basis for reading material development. The teacher will help student to develop his reading by using pictures, flashcards, sentence cards, as well as ask a few questions. In addition, the results of this research concluded that LEA has an influence on reading ability. It can improve the reading ability of slow learner.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses pelaksanaan LEA dan mengetahui pengaruh LEA pada kemampuan membaca anak lamban belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan bentuk Single Subject Research (SSR) desain A-B. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis visual grafik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya pengaruh LEA pada kemampuan membaca. Keadaan ini ditunjukkan pada penilaian kemampuan membaca anak lamban belajar pada kondisi baseline (A) berkisar antara 60% hingga 68% dan pada kondisi intervensi (B) mengalami peningkatan menjadi 86% hingga 92%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu LEA dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan pengalaman anak sebagai dasar pengembangan bahan bacaan. Guru akan membantu anak untuk mengembangkan bacaannya dengan menggunakan media gambar, flashcard, dan kartu kalimat, serta mengajukan beberapa pertanyaan. Selain itu dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa LEA memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan membaca yaitu dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca anak lamban belajar.

Abstract

Teachers have obstacles in teaching about thematic because of no appropriate media teaching for the characteristics and needs of students. Characteristics of the students with an intellectual disability who are capable learners, to think concretely and hard thinking are not capable of difficult storing instructions. So, they need simple words, easy to understand, and then require the teachers to develop learning media that are innovative, creative, and interesting. The purpose of development of the thematic learning multimedia is to produce a learning multimedia which can overcome the problem in the thematic learning process for students with intellectual disability and increase their knowledge and motivation. This research method is the Research and Development (R & D). The result of this study indicated that the multimedia thematic learning for mental retardation was claimed appropriate by a multimedia expert by score 90,5, by material expert 83, and teacher by 84,5. The average was 86 and it indicated that the appropriateness of the multimedia. The field test of 6 intellectual disability claimed effective by 5 of 6 get score above standard minimum.Guru memiliki hambatan dalam mengajar materi tematik karena belum memiliki media pembelajaran yang cocok dengan kriteria dan keperluan siswa tunagrahita. Karakteristik peserta didik tunagrahita yang mampu didik, kemampuan berfikir kongkrit dan sukar berfikir, kurang bisa menanggapi perintah sulit, menggunakan kata sederhana dan bisa dimengerti, maka hal tersebut mengharuskan guru memperluas pengetahuan tentang media pembelajaran yang inovatif, kreatif, dan menarik. Pengembangan multimedia pembelajaran tematik akan membuahkan produk multimedia pembelajaran yang dapat mengatasi hambatan pada saat kegiatan belajar mengajar tematik pada siswa tunagrahita serta menambah ilmu dan semangat belajar siswa tunagrahita”. Metode yang digunakan Research and Development (R&D). Hasil penelitian pengembangan multimedia pembelajaran tematik pada siswa tunagrahita dapat dikatakan layak oleh ahli multimedia dengan nilai 90.5, layak oleh ahli materi pada nilai 83, dan valid oleh praktisi pada nilai 84.5. Dari ketiga ahli didapatkan nilai 86 sehingga dapat dikatakan multimedia pembelajaran tematik ini layak. Tes percobaan pertama untuk siswa tunagrahita dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar ysng terdiri dari 6 siswa bisa dikatakan efektif dengan didapati sebanyak 5 orang siswa memenuhi nilai SKM yang telah ditentukan.
