Abstract

This research aims to analyze cyberslacking behavior among students in Indonesia and see if there is an influence between self-regulated learning and student academic achievement on cyberslacking behavior. The method used is a quantitative approach. Data collection using an accidental sampling technique was conducted online through Google Forms with 367 respondents. The individuals involved in this research were university students. The measuring instruments used were the adapted cyberslacking scale, the self-regulated learning scale, and the cumulative grade point average. The data was then analyzed using Jamovi 2.3.28 software with a multiple linear regression analysis model. The results showed that self-regulated learning affects cyberslacking while academic achievement does not. However, it later showed that self-regulated learning and academic achievement simultaneously affect cyber-slacking by 23 percent, with an F value of 55.8 (p less than .001). Students doing academic activities can exercise control over self-regulated learning and academic achievement to avoid cyberslacking behavior. Therefore, efforts to improve self-regulated learning and academic achievement are goals in reducing cyberslacking behavior.

Abstract

The work productivity of PT Telkom Akses Regional Jatim Bali Nusra employees is not optimal due to various problems caused by a lack of cooperation and coordination. Good communication can improve cooperation or coordination to achieve work productivity. This research aims to determine the extent to which internal communication influences the work productivity of PT Telkom Akses Regional Jatim Bali Nusra employees. The research uses quantitative methods and simple regression analysis to test the hypothesis. The research findings show a significance of .000 with an F-value of 36.357 and an R-squared of .236, proving that internal communication significantly impacts employee work productivity. The extent of the influence of internal communication is 23.6%, and other variables outside this research influence the remaining portion. The practical recommendation of the research is to maximize activities or programs that support the implementation of effective and two-way internal communication, re-socialization and application of the company’s internal communication SOP, optimization of communication media within the company, as well as activities that support the maximization of employee work productivity such as employee training related to meeting the quality and quantity of work output, and employee work discipline.

Abstract

Teachers in schools can affect internet use among adolescent students, who have a high prevalence of accessing the internet for purposes other than educational content. This research aims to investigate the contribution of the teacher-student attachment to the problematic internet use (PIU) of high school students. The respondents came from high school students (N of 160) with a mean age of 13.8 (SD equals 1.6), and 58 percent were female. Data was collected using an accidental sampling technique. PIU is measured by self-report scale using the Indonesian Problematic Internet Use Scale (IPIUS) and teacher attachment using the Inventory of Teacher-Student Relationship (ITSR). This research applied content validity and Cronbach’s alpha. Data was collected with Google Forms and data analysis using regression analysis assisted by the SPSS software. The findings show a significant contribution from teacher-student attachment to high schools’ PIU and highlight the importance of teacher roles in the onset of behavioral problems associated with internet use. More discussion about the role of teachers in determining adolescent student behavior is suggested.

Abstract

An in-depth exploration of how the dimensions of transformational leadership individually moderate the influence of perceived external prestige on employee performance is still lacking. This research uses a quantitative approach measured by three scales: the transformational leadership perception scale modified from previous research (reliability value of .957), the perceived external prestige scale constructed by revealing aspects of personality, social development, and career training (reliability value of .962), and the employee performance scale modified from previous research (reliability value of .961). The research sample consisted of employees from various agencies, totaling 213 people. Data analysis in this research used moderated regression analysis. The results showed that transformational leadership serves as a moderator that strengthens the influence of perceived external prestige on employee performance, which means that the positive influence of perceived external prestige on employee performance will be more substantial if it is supported by transformational leadership.

Abstract

This research explores the interaction between academic engagement, gender differences, and future time perspective (FTP) among high school students. The aim is to shed light on how this factor contributes to students’ orientation towards their future. This research used a survey design with a sample of 109 students to examine the prediction of academic engagement to FTP and the moderating role of gender. The findings showed a significant positive prediction of engagement to FTP, which was more pronounced in male students, highlighting the importance of gender as a moderating factor. This research emphasizes the multidimensional nature of engagement—emotional, behavioral, and cognitive—and its essential role in shaping FTP. The impact of the learning environment and teacher-student dynamics on engagement and FTP, which is nuanced by gender differences, is also explored. Based on these insights, the result recommends future research directions, including longitudinal studies, to further understand engagement and FTP developmental trajectories, explore additional moderating factors, and intervene in education supporting gender equity.

Abstract

The older people in today’s era are non-digital native societies, so adapting to changes in all aspects of life that have been digital-based takes greater effort than individuals under their age. The difficulty of adapting to this digitalization system allows older people to experience negative feelings that affect their psychological well-being. This is correlational quantitative research to investigate further the role of digital media communication on the psychological well-being of older people. The respondents are 55–75 years old, have gadgets, and are used to communicating digitally. A sample of 97 people was selected using a convenience sampling technique. The instrument used is the Indonesian version of the psychological well-being questionnaire and the adapted version of the communication questionnaire through digital media. The results showed that digital communication played a significant role (p < .001) in psychological well-being with an R-squared value of .121. This value means that the digital communication variable can predict the psychological well-being of older people by 12.1%.

Abstract

Emerging adults who are identical in their search for self-identity are prone to impulsive buying behavior. Body image, with self-esteem as a mediator, may influence the tendency to buy impulsively. Therefore, this research aims to determine how the dimensions of body image influence the tendency of impulsive buying mediated by self-esteem in 100 people aged 18–25 in Malang City. This research uses a quantitative approach with the incidental sampling technique. There are three scales used that have been adapted previously, namely the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES), Impulse Buying Tendency (IBT) Scale, and Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire–Appearance Scale (MBSRQ–AS). The analysis technique used is mediation analysis with the bootstrapping method with the help of PROCESS V4.3 for SPSS software. The results show that self-esteem has a fully mediating role in the influence of one of the dimensions of body image, namely the appearance evaluation dimension, on the tendency of impulsive buying in emerging adults in Malang City. This means that emerging adults with low appearance evaluations tend to have low levels of self-esteem. Likewise, emerging adults with low self-esteem tend to engage in impulsive buying behavior. This also applies vice versa.
