Abstract

Parenting, in addition to all forms and processes of interaction that occur between parents and children, is also a certain parenting pattern in the family that will affect the development of the child's personality. The personality of children after stepping on adolescence certainly cannot be separated how their parents instill cultural values that live in the society in which they live. Every parent wants the best for their children. This desire will then form a parenting that will be instilled and passed on by the parents to their children. The current generation seems to be increasingly losing the ability and creativity in understanding the principles of local cultural values and traditions, one example, according to parents (Pasan tribal people) a child who passes in front of parents, must ya'sumambing (ducking road while lowering hands). However, now this habit has gradually disappeared and changed ordinary attitudes and arrogant attitudes to mess with his parents, even the attitude of ya'sumambing replaced with hello or ces and so on. There is also a system of cultural values inherited by previous parents such as behaving 'sihadat alud' (manners), 'muha-hormat' (mutual respect), 'tarangtarang: tuar' (firm and consistent), 'matulir karekenan' (honesty) and others. The above values are inherited parents when gathering to eat together (dinner), even they tell when the child makes a mistake. However, over time the current generation seems to be losing understanding of the principles of local cultural values and their traditions. Keywords: parenting, change, cultural values

Local wisdom is part of a society's culture that cannot be separated from the language of the community itself. Local wisdom is usually passed down through generations through word of mouth. Local wisdom itself contains very important knowledge about cultured life so that local wisdom is used as an asset of the nation's culture.Maluku is an archipelago province in eastern Indonesia that has cultural diversity from various sub-ethnic. Diversity is meant to show self-identity, various identity of one of them is traditional house. Various forms of construction and building materials have meaning according to the perspective of various sub-ethnic.Traditional houses are used for a variety of traditional and kinship activities, ranging from the life cycle from birth to adulthood to marriage even to death. Baileo is a physical building, but in Baileo there is actually a social space that gathers all the public interest so that historical and cultural facts have different meanings in each indigenous environment, including indigenous peoples in The Land of Allang. In Allang State, the clans Siwalette and Sabandar can only occupy the social layout of Baileo. On that basis, Baileo remained sanctity, seen as sacred in the practice of indigenous life. This kind of living system is only possible in community groups whose principle of life is guided by cultural references. Keywords: Local wisdom, traditional house, culture

Abstract

The Toraja people have an identity because of the culture of the people that continues to survive until now. In the life of the Toraja people, it is never separated from symbols and meanings. One of them is the use of tau-tau (statue) symbol that is still part of the ritual of death of Toraja people. Making tau-tau is one of the complementary elements of the cemetery in Toraja. In this case, the Toraja people still use the caste system and the person who can be made to know is a person from the nobility. Tau-tau is also a symbol of memory for the family left behind to remember the deceased. Not only that, tau-tau is a symbol of respect from the family and the community to commemorate the services of the deceased during his life. Tau-tau has existed since the existence of Alukta (the rule of life of the former in Toraja) which was passed down to their posterity until now. Tau-tau has a high artistic value, if seen from its shape that resembles the deceased. In addition, tau-tau also adorns the tombs of the Toraja noble family, which is found in many natural attractions in Toraja. The tau-tau is placed in front of patane (graveyard shaped house) and neatly arranged in front of the wall of stone walls or cliffs. Tau-tau is usually put together and tightly locked in one place to avoid theft from art collectors. Tau-tau has become part of the customs and culture of the Toraja people so it cannot be eliminated. If the making of tau-tau is eliminated, then it is the same as eliminating the authenticity of the Toraja tribe. Keywords: Tau-tau, Symbols and Meanings
