The dependence of flow velocity distribution near the bed on the roughness geometry has led to various approaches for estimating the velocity. Themodels proposed bypreviousstudies aremostlybased on segmented velocityprofiles(e.g., a linear distribution within theinterfacial sublayer and logarithmic distributions above the interfacial sublayer). By increasing number of segments, the possibility of errors in the parameters, as well as constants, are likely to rise. This study assessed the applicability of a hyperbolic tangent function velocity model to estimate double-averaged velocity profile for shallow flow over a rough gravel bed as a single model concept, especially for the area within roughness layer. Velocity profiles over gravel beds with different arrangements and roughness densities from previously published studies using laboratory measurements were used to validate this model. The behaviours of related constants for this model in response to changes in the flow depth and roughness geometry were investigated, and limitations on it application were evaluated. It was found that the constants required to apply hyperbolic tangent function are affected by roughness geometry function and relative submergence. Through this study also observed that HTF is reliable to describe the velocity profile for about twice of geometric roughness height.

The global warming issue has become a concern for environmentalists activists, including many governments. This concern is due to the increasing attention to reducing the use of fossil energy because fossil energy has significantly exacerbated global warming. To minimize the use of fossil energy, especially the housing sector that is one of the extensive energy users. Building performance's analysis is done by creating changes to the case study's building envelope material. Case study buildings were simulated in energy analysis software. Preliminary analysis shows how the performance of the case study building is still far from the standard of thermal comfort. Air conditioning (AC) usage in the room will give comfort in terms of temperature. But, even though with the AC, the humidity level of the room was still high. Two building models are then created in the software to see the performance of the building by making changes to the building envelope material. With the settings on air-conditioning (AC) and environmental conditions in both models, the results indicate differences in the building performance of the two buildings. The results show that the building with insulation are using less energy and can provide optimal comfort for building users. Comfort is not only in terms of the building's temperature but including building relative humidity. In buildings with insulation, the temperature and humidity of the building are relatively stable throughout the year.

Peperomia pellucida attracts a lot of interest due to its bioactivity and has been used in various folk medicine. In this report, n-hexane, dichloromethane, and ethyl acetate fraction of Peperomia pellucida extract were examined for its cytotoxic activity against Artemia salina larvae using the BSLT method. The ethyl acetate fraction showed higher cytotoxic activity than n-hexane and dichloromethane. The LC50 of ethyl acetate, n-hexane, and dichloromethane fractions was 39.665, 278.920, and 60.808 ppm, respectively. Mayer and Dragendorff tests give a positive result to the alkaloid constituent in ethyl acetate fraction. The alkaloids in Peperomia pellucida were extracted using ethyl acetate and further separated using chromatography techniques. Two alkaloid components were identified in ethyl acetate fraction from Peperomia pellucida as Piperine and Nigramide N by using LC-MS/MS.

A power outage on a conventional grid can cut the electricity supply to the entire load. In contrast, Microgrid (MG) can still supply at least the most critical local loads even though blackout occurs in the main grid. MG can also utilize renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy to generate electricity. That is possible by the advancement of the battery energy storage system (BESS). The BESS able to maintains electricity supply to the load even in outages. The inverter on the SBPE also plays a role in stabilizing the MG output voltage by supplying or absorbing reactive power in the MG system. This paper focuses on the control development of the battery inverter primary controller. The droop control design utilizes the deadband around the nominal voltage. That becomes the improvement of the droop control method used in this study compared to the initial formulation of the droop method. The proposed method was then tested through simulation with four different scenarios. The BESS will operate in the voltage range 194.9V to 234.6V with a droop control deadband in the voltage range 198.0V to 231.0V. Based on the simulation results, the addition of SBPE with the MG scheme on the existing system can improve the quality of the voltage received by the load from 0.994p.u. to 0.997p.u. The simulation also shows that the load still gets a power supply even though there is a blackout on the main grid.

Mangrove forests are one of the coastal ecosystems that are under pressure due to antrophogenic activities, including land conversions to fishponds or aquaculture. On the other hand, the needs for seafood products from these aquaculture activities tend to increase annually. These situations become paradoxes that are often encountered within aquaculture management in Indonesia. Punduh Pidada Subdistrict is one of the areas in Pesawaran Regency, Lampung, that severely suffered from mangrove forest conversion into fishponds. The purposes of this study were to identify the trends in mangrove cover changes over 30 years and to design a mangrove rehabilitation plan in Punduh Pidada Subdistrict. This study used a time-series data of Landsat satellite imagery over 30 years, from 1989 to 2019. The results showed a significant decrease in the mangrove cover areas over 30 years at 83.34 Ha with an average mangrove cover losses at 30.5%. Three zones that are suitable for mangrove rehabilitation plan was then choosen based on the levels of mangrove loss areas, namely first priority rehabilitation plan covering zone 1 (1.7 Ha) and zone 2 (1.5 ha) and the second priority rehabilitation plan covering zone 3 (7.5 Ha). With a planting distance of 1 x 2 meter, the total of seeds needed for the rehabilitation planning are 8,500 seeds for zone 1, 7,500 seeds for zone 2, and 27,500 seeds for zone 3.
