Abstract

The Way Ruhu River is one of the rivers in Ambon City, Maluku, empties into Ambon Bay, has a length of 8.37 km, and is one of the rivers that is prone to flooding. There have been several floods on this river and the most severe occurred in early August 2012 where flash floods occurred and caused considerable losses to the people living around the Way Ruhu River. The research location was carried out on the Wai Ruhu River in Ambon City - Maluku Province. Geographically, the Wai Ruhu River is located between 3°39'44.18" - 3°41'39" South Latitude and 128°11'49.06" - 128°13'46.47" East Longitude. The stages of this research are processing rainfall data, choosing the appropriate rainfall frequency distribution method. The distribution of rainfall frequency referred to in this case is the normal method, Gumbel, Normal Log and Pearson III Log. Testing the accuracy of the results of this method using the Chi Square method. Calculating the planned discharge using the HSS Nakayasu Method. Conclusions from the results of the analysis of the cross-sectional capacity of the Way Ruhu River using HEC-RAS, the highest water level considered is at point S14. At the 10 year discharge period, the flood height was 0.16 m with a discharge of 237.04 m3/sec, 25 years was 0.64 m with a discharge of 282.43 m3/sec, 50 years was 0.89 m with a discharge of 316. 69, 100 years with a discharge of 351.16 m3/s, and for 200 years of 1 m with a discharge of 385.10 m3/s. The solution to the capacity of the Way Ruhu River is to improve the river cross-section. It is necessary to carry out routine maintenance on the canal such as cleaning grass and rubbish because this can affect the storage capacity. There is a need to provide outreach to the community about the impacts caused by the overflow of the Way Ruhu River so that the community and the Regional Government can work together in maintaining and maintaining the infrastructure that has been built. Abstract

Tulehu Port, located on Ambon Island, is the main route of the maritime transportation system for entering and exiting Ambon Island and its surrounding islands. This port plays an important role in the transportation of passengers and goods. High activity levels and long journeys to the port make many passengers choose private transportation over public transport, which is lacking in both quality and quantity. The purpose of this research is to identify the factors, percentage values of the criteria, and to determine the probability values of the selection of public transportation and private transportation modes at Tulehu Port. The choice of transportation mode plays a crucial role in transportation planning at Tulehu Port to understand the community's preferences for the chosen transportation modes. For this, a binary logit model method based on multiple linear regression analysis was used. The analysis results show that the factors of time, cost, comfort, and safety have a significant impact, with a significance value of <0.05. The mode selection variables for urban transport and private transport indicate that the time variable to Tulehu Port is 0.322, while for the mode selection from Tulehu Port, the comfort variable is 0.280. Meanwhile, the reasons respondents use urban transport to and from Tulehu Port are cost at 56% and 61%, while for private transport respondents to and from Tulehu Port, the reasons are comfort at 44% and speed at 58%. In terms of the probability of mode selection at Tulehu Port based on movement, for the route to Tulehu Port (Ambon – Tulehu), the chance of choosing urban transport is 42%, and for private transport, it is 58%. For the movement from Tulehu Port (Tulehu – Ambon), the chance of choosing urban transport is 39%, and for private transport, it is 61%. Abstract

The need for housing is increasing in line with population of Indonesia. Therefore, housing development needs to be encouraged for the sustainability of housing availability for the people, including Low-Income Communities. The construction of Simple Houses under the Bantuan Stimulan Perumahan Swadaya Program (BSPS) in Village "B" in Ambon City needs to be evaluated for its feasibility to ensure compliance with applicable standards. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of new construction of simple houses under the BSPS program at that location. Observation and distribution of questionnaires were carried out to collect primary data while secondary data were in the form of documents, where both data were obtained from related parties. The MLR method was used to analyze the effect of three independent variables, i.e. the adequacy of the area of the house building (X1), the safety of the house building (X2), and the health of the occupants/house building (X3) on the dependent variable, habitable houses (Y). The results that the independent variables X1, X2, and X3 had a positive effect on the dependent variable Y, which means that the Construction of Simple Houses under the BSPS in Village "B" in Ambon City is feasible. Abstract

This research was conducted to address the challenges of conducting solar panel practicum in the Energy Engineering laboratory during cloudy or rainy weather by developing a simulation module for solar panel experiments using incandescent lamps as the light source. The testing and analysis revealed that solar panel efficiency is higher under sunlight (5.64% at 504 W/m²) compared to incandescent lamps (5.04% at 500 W/m²), with a more pronounced efficiency drop under lamp lighting due to rising temperatures. When temperatures exceed 40°C, a significant decline in efficiency occurs, with rates of 0.106/°C for the lamp and 0.093/°C for sunlight. The solar panel simulation module using incandescent lamps can serve as a practical solution for conducting experiments during overcast or rainy conditions. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development strategy of Tawiri Beach, located in Teluk Ambon District, Ambon City, in supporting coastal environmental conservation using a SWOT analysis approach combined with civil engineering perspectives. Tawiri Village has significant natural potential, strong community support, and a strategic geographic location. The SWOT analysis resulted in a total score of 3.66, positioning the area within the aggressive (Strength–Opportunity) quadrant. This indicates that the development strategy should focus on maximizing internal strengths and external opportunities. The application of civil engineering plays a crucial role in ensuring that tourism development aligns with the principles of environmental sustainability. Key recommendations include the construction of basic infrastructure such as access roads, pedestrian walkways, gazebos, and sanitation facilities using environmentally friendly materials and designs that can withstand coastal climate conditions. In addition, it is essential to implement coastal protection structures such as revetments, natural breakwaters, and shoreline vegetation to mitigate abrasion risks and maintain shoreline stability. Furthermore, the strategy involves designing a coastal spatial plan based on zoning principles, dividing the area into conservation zones, tourism activity zones, and supporting infrastructure zones. Through this approach, beach development not only enhances tourism attractiveness but also promotes comprehensive environmental preservation. The results of this study are expected to serve as a foundation for local government and community stakeholders in planning and implementing sustainable coastal tourism development in Tawiri Village, combining ecological awareness with appropriate civil engineering solutions. Abstract

Maluku Province, especially Ambon City, is the area with the largest capture fisheries sector in Indonesia. The amount of skipjack fish production from 2016 reached 1,742.00 tons and in 2020 skipjack fish production has increased to 4,493.46 tons (Ambon City fisheries office data). Large fish production but no management of skipjack fish bone waste, so it is not utilized by both the government and suasta. Skipjack fish bones have a good composition of bioavailability chemical content, the content contained in skipjack fish bones that have been extracted is moisture content 0.33%, ash 99.03%, protein 0.19%, fat 0.22%, and calcium content 83.25%, and phosphorus content 9.65%. Calcium in all samples is calcium phosphor apatite, apatite is a group of phosphorus minerals and calcium minerals that are generally present in rocks so that they can be applied to road building structures that use asphalt pavement. This study was conducted to determine the effect of using skipjack fish bone ash as a filler for asphalt mixture for AC-WC pavement. This is reviewed from the value of Marshall's stability with an experimental method. Some of the tests carried out are specific gravity testing, content weight, broken stone, sieve analysis, sand equivalent value, abrasion, material passing filter no.200 and marshall testing with reference to the specifications of Bina Marga 2018 Division 6. The test will be carried out by making 1 variation of skipjack fish bone ash filler of 3%. Keywords: Flexible Pavement, Compressive Strength,  Fish Bone Ash,

Abstract

Water is a primary human need that must be met, but overtime the rate of population growth, the need for water in Amdasa Village, Wertamrian District, Tanimbar Islands Regency is decreasing. Increased water use is sometimes not accompanied by the management of new water sources due to the lack of information about the potential of groundwater sources. Geoelectric surveys will provide potential difference values, current strength, and rock specific resistance values. The value of the rock's specific gravity is then further processed to obtain the value of the specific gravity of each rock layer. The research location has good aquifer potential indicated by the discovery of aquifer layers at shallow depths from the surface of 6 meters and up to 13 meters with various aquifer thicknesses and groundwater well design with a drilling depth of ± 16 meters for points 01 and 03. Abstract

Geothermal is a new renewable energy model that comes from the bowels of the earth which is exploited using a Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) into electrical energy. For high-temperature hot steam, it is used directly as a turbine rotation to produce electricity. The Tulehu WKP which has been explored by drilling 5 wells only produces medium-temperature fluids and is estimated to produce around 7 megawatts (MW) of electricity. One method used to increase the efficiency of PLTP is the binary cycle. The binary cycle is a geothermal fluid power generation system that is used to heat the working fluid using a heat exchanger from the liquid phase to the vapor phase which is then used to drive the turbine. Furthermore, the turbine drives the generator and is converted into electrical energy. This study aims to determine the performance of the Organic Rankine Cycle ORC using isopentane, isobutene and butane working fluids to obtain optimal performance. The method used is to use simulation with the Aspen HYSYS application to obtain good and optimal Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) fluids. From these problems, the Tulehu Geothermal Power Plant can be built using a binary cycle, so in this study an energy analysis was carried out with the Tulehu Geothermal Power Plant binary cycle in order to produce maximum energy. By applying the binary cycle, the power generated reaches 10 MW.  Keywords: Geothermal, Binary Cycle, Energy
