Scholaria: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan is a double blind-peer-reviewed journal managed by Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar (PGSD), Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) Salatiga cooperates with the Himpunan Dosen Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar Indonesia presenting diverse themes, yet still within major themes in education. Particularly about the study of theoretical education and results of classroom action research, experimental research and development research in the development of education including sustainable professionalism. The indicator of a professional teachers is the extent to which the teachers has the ability to design instructional well. A good instructional design will effectively achieve the instructional objectives that have been set. The problem that arises is that there is a signal that the teachers implement the learning without first doing systematic instructional design. This paper aims to provide guidance on how instructional components are designed. The instructional components include instructional objectives, materials, model / strategy / method, instructional media and instructional evaluation. The model of instructional component design is using system approach such as Dick model, Carey and Carey. The use of Dick, Carey and Carey model will produce frame of instructional objectives, materials, model / strategy / method, media, and instructional evaluation as needed. Among five components of learning above, the model components and media need to get serious attention because they follow the technology trend. Thus, it needs the signs for choosing and designing the model and the media. The lecturers' view of the process of how the learning act takes place will have implications for the choice of model and the media / delivery technology of the material to be applied. There are two extremes of extreme views about the epistemology of knowledge and the way in which a student's knowledge is acquired, although both are connected through the polar opposite continuum. The two views are: a) an objectivistic view (direct instruction) that is influenced by behavioristic learning theory and cognitive theory, especially information processing theory; b) constructivist views.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh deskripsi kemampuan higher order thinking skills HOTS dengan ditinjau dari Pelaksanaan pembelajaran konsep Geometri dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 50 mahasiswa calon guru SD. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengimplementasikan model problem based learning. Mahasiswa medapatkan permasalahan yang diberikan guru, selanjutnya berdiskusi dalam kelompok dan memberikan kesempatan kepada mahasiswa untuk mengemukakan pendapat atau jalan pikiran secara lisan. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan hasil dari proses berpikir mahasiswa, tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah, dan wawancara. Analisis data pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tahap-tahap yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan menarik kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning mengikuti tahapan yang terdiri atas penyajian masalah, perencanaan penyelesaian masalah, penyelidikan masalah, penyajian hasil, dan menganalisis dan evaluasi.

Poetry as a literature work which is a manifestation of human culture that is full of life value, so it is very relevant for character building. The aim of this research is to describe character value and how to implemented on literature study at school of poetry “Bulan Ruwah” from Subagio Sastrowardoyo. This qualitative research applies the description method and using content analyisis. The data of this research is Subagio Sastrowardoyo’s poetry “Bulan Ruwah”. The data analysis techique was referenced technique and recorded technique, using stylistic approach. It is found that there are three values of characters in the poetry “Bulan Ruwah”.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar Matematika siswa kelas 4 di SD Gugus Patimura dalam pembelajaran menggunakan model Problem Based Learning dan Discavery Learning. Jenis penelitian menggunakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen soal tes yang telah dilakukan uji reliabilitas dan validitas item soalnya. Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan uji ANCOVA menunjukkan hasil sgnifikansi/probabilitas 0,00 < 0,05, artinya H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Maknanya bahwa Problem Based Learning memberikan dampak yang lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning. Simpulan tersebut didukung temuan rata-rata nilai menggunakan model Problem Based Learning adalah 80,24 sedangkan model Discovery Learning sebesar 71,87. Berdasarkan simpulan penelitian ini disarankan agar para guru SD menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning.

The purpose of this study is to prove that the transformational leadership style can be applied and to describe how it is applied in Early Childhood Education management in Sidorejo District of Salatiga. This descriptive qualitative research used the sampling using technique purposive. Techniques of collecting data using interviews, observation and documentation. Many phenomena researchers find in some kindergartens in the city of Salatiga are examples: many teachers resigned each year, they lack of motivation and awareness of their duties as teachers or perform tasks only because of rewards or punishment, and lack of trust and loyalty to the institution school. With the implementation of this transformational leadership style, it provides some positive impacts, principals being role models, encouraging subordinate performance, harmonizing the work environment, empowering employees, acting on the value system, continuously improving their capabilities, and having the ability to cope with complex situations. So with this study, the authors hope this transformational leadership style can be applied in school institutions that have not used this style of leadership, especially early childhood institutions because the results show that the transformational leadership style is very effective applied to early childhood education management.

Studi kasus ini terfokus pada pembelajaran menulis teks cerpen berdasar pada Kurikulum 2013 di SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta . Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, dengan strategi studi kasus terpancang tunggal. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, analisis dokumen, dan wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada tahap perencanaan pembelajaran menulis teks cerpen, guru melakukan langkah pengkajian terhadap silabus. Berdasarkan silabus tersebut selanjutnya guru menyusun Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP). Guru bahasa Indonesia di SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta telah memiliki perangkat pembelajaran yang lengkap. Perangkat pembelajaran tersebut yaitu: (1) Silabus Revisi Kurikulum 2013 dari pemerintah; (2) RPP menulis teks cerpen yang memiliki komponen susuai dengan Permendikbud Nomor 22 tahun 2016; dan (3) Analisis SKL, KI dan KD. Pada tahap pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran, diawali dengan pembelajaran menulis cerpen melalui penerapkan teknik parafrase lagu populer serta memanfaatkan penggunaan media audio visual berupa video. Sedangkan pada tahap penilaian pembelajaran dilakukan dengan menggunakan penilaian proses pembelajaran dan penilaian hasil belajar menulis teks cerpen yang mengacu pada Permendikbud Nomor 23 Tahun 2013.

The purpose of the research is to produce teaching material of props from scrap materials for system human feasible and practical to be used as a medium of learning in enhancing students' understanding of the concept. The type of research was research and development. ADDIE model used in this reseach contained: 1) Analysis 2) Design 3) Development 4) Implementation and 5) Evaluation. Questionnaire and tests were used as the instruments in data collection. The data analysis in questionnaire forms were statistically using percentage and t test. Pre-test and Post test designed into two groups. Based on the evaluation from the content experts, the value of the material was 82%, 92.85% for instructional media, while instructional design was 87.5%. For the small group the media, it reached up to 84.25%, the field pre-experimment group was 87.89%, while the use of user guide was 87.5%, 85% of instructional media experts, instructional design experts 79.17 %%, the small group bievaluation 84.25%, compared to the experiment group in big number was 86.44%. the result for evaluation of the props materials used were catagorized as excellent. It means t-test for the use of teaching material was equal to 3,586 with sig. of α = 0.005, t = 2.704. The value of t arithmetic less than t table (3.586> 2.704). It was said that the props of scrap materials improved students' understanding of the concept. The indicator for the concepts include memorizing, understanding, and applied to show that there was increasing in the value of the pre-test and post-test the student.

There are still many students who have difficulties in learning fractions, because instructional is often delivered with abstract which is dominated by formal methods. Therefore, a new approach is needed, accompanied by adequate learning media to overcome the problems mentioned above. A realistic mathematical approach with the help of fractional puzzles was designed to help students to explain the abstract situations of a problem into a realistic form then developed to direct students to mathematically search solutions. The place of this study was in SD al Muslim Tambun with the research subjects of the fourth grade students of Ibnu Rusyd 2015/2016 Academic Year as many as 28 students. This is a Class Action Research with 2 trial cycles. The data was analyzed by comparing conventional techniques without learning media with realistic mathematical approaches with the help of fractional puzzles. The results shows that in the first cycle experiment there was an increase in the average value of learning outcomes of 15.64% with an average grade of 75.4. Then in the second cycle experiment there was an increase in the average value of student learning outcomes by 23.31% with an average grade value of 80.4. It can be concluded that the realistic mathematical approach with the help of fractional puzzles can increase the value of student learning outcomes in fraction addition material with the same denominator in elementary school.

Mathematics was a lesson that must be published in all levels of education. So, the competence of mathematics should be understood by students. However, there were some problems on student’s mathematics learning outcomes at the first semester in 4th grade of SDN Gendongan 02. There were 39 students, but only 46% (18 students) got score above minimum completeness criteria (KKM). While 54% (21 students) got score under the KKM. The aims of this reseacrh was to increased the mathematics learning outcomes through the synergy of project based learning and meaningful learning. The type of this research was action research by using stringer model. This research held in two cycles with three stages. The stages consist of look, think, and act. The data collection used some instruments such as test, observation sheets, and field notes. The technique of data analysis used comparative descriptive technique. The subjects of the research were students in 4th grade of SDN Gendongan 02. The result of completeness mathematics learning outcome in the first cycle was 72,5% and in the second cycle was 80%. Student’s mathematics learning outcomes in the second cycle were better than the mathematics learning outcomes in the first cycle. Based on the result, the synergy of project based learning and meaningful learning can increase mathematics learning outcomes. Therefore, the synergy of project based learning and meaningful learning were suggested to be applied at mathematics.

The purpose of this research was to know there was any difference in student’s mathematical communication ability in cooperative learning Think TalkWrite (TTW) type and Numbered Head Together (NHT) type. The population was all students at SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Pakam. The sample was two classes which each consist of 36 students, VII A as experimental class I which taught by TTW and VII B as experimental class II which taught by NHT. The sample was taken by cluster random sampling. Collecting data technique of this research was mathematical comunication ability essay test that was given in the end of learning either in experimental class I or experimental class II. From the data analysis of each of experimental class were obtained that the average of posttest score in TTW classroom was higher than in NHT classroom. It was also obtained that score of mathematical communication indicators in TTW classroom was higher than in NHT classroom. From the data analysis of posttest score by using t-test with significance level α = 0.05, it was obtained that tcount = 4.687 and ttable = 1.667. It means that tcount > ttable then H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. So, it can be concluded that there was difference of student’s mathematical communication ability who taught by cooperative learning model type TTW with NHT at SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Pakam.
