Abstract

Day Care is one form of early childhood education in non formal education program that organize nurturing and social welfare of children from birth up to the age of 6 years. This study aimed to identify the suitability of existing infrastructure in Babys Home day care with the ACT of Minister of Education and Culture No. 137 of 2014 Article 32 Paragraph 3; and to provide an overview why the planning, maintenance and inventory in Babys Home day care were not optimal. This study was qualitative research. The subject was Babys Home day care Salatiga. Technique of collecting data using interviews, observation and documents. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman Model. Data validation using triangulation technique of data. Facilities and infrastructure in Babys Home day care which conform with ACT of Minister of Education and Culture No. 137 of 2014 Article 32 Paragraph 3 of were the area of land, space of activities inside and outside, hand washing facilities, showers and latrines, and access to health facilities. While things were not conform included the bedroom, dining room, and covered trash. The cause of the planning, maintenance and inventory of facilities and infrastructure have not optimally done because the plan was not carried out continuously, the lack of personnel to assist in the maintenance, and did not have the administrative staff specifically for inventory. Advice can be given to Babys Home day care is to conduct procurement planning infrastructure on sleeping room, dining room and trash. In addition, the maintenance to existing infrastructure must be made as well as the inventory of infrastructure in order to facilitate the planning purchasing.

Abstract

The study aimed to review and describe: 1) Coaching model of social sciences teacher in SMP Muhammadiyah Kartasura. 2) Test the validation of coaching model on social sciences teacher. This study used a qualitative approach of phenomenology. This study was conducted in SMP Muhammadiyah Kartasura, Sukoharjo district. The research design was classroom action research. The subject in this research were students, teachers, the principal. Data collection technique used observation, testing and interview. The interview process using theory of first and second order understanding. Data were analyzed using an interactive model included data reduction, data display, and conclusion. This study concluded that 1) Coaching Model of social sciences teacher in SMP Muhammadiyah Kartasura used modification lesson study approach. 2) Validation of the coaching model using two kinds of validation namely theory of validation and practice of validation.

Abstract

Art education can shape an individuals mental character, socio cultural personality, creativity and intellectual. Cultural art education is not only as a means of developing the knowledge and skills but as a general intervention strategies for children with special needs that based on socio-cultural. cultural arts and craft education has a uniqueness, significance and usefulness through activities to create, to appreciate and to express, so that children have role in the development of cognitive, affective and psychomotor than as aspects of catharsis in channeling the emotions as well as to stimulate active participation and improve the independence and directions on special needs childreen. The purpose of the use of intervention strategies was to help teachers knowing that the characteristic was associated with the competence of the child. This study was a qualitative research conducted in SD Negeri 1 Tanjung Purwokerto as one Inclussive School. Subject of research was principal, classroom teachers, assistant teachers, students and parents. The result of the research was intervention strategy can improve the ability of children. This was due to the orientation of making art more oriented to the modification process, the content of a work and the product.

Abstract

This study aimed to test the significance effect of self-concept on students’ interpersonal communication. Subjects in this reasearch were guidance and counseling students in Satwa Wacana Christian University, Salatiga. Analysis of data used simple regression to determine the effect of self-concept on students’ interpersonal communication. The results showed that Sig. = 0.012, which means that there was a significant relationship between self-concept and interpersonal communication. Besides, the value of R Square or determination coefficient was 0.048, which means that self-concept has the contribution effect of a 4.8% on the student interpersonal communication, while the remaining 95.2% was influenced by other factors. It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between self-concept on students’ interpersonal communication.

Abstract

Identification conducted by the principle of SD Laboratory UKSW showed that the teachers were still not competent in doing learning assessment administration well. To solve these problems, the principal conducted academic supervision. The essence of the academic supervision is to help teachers develop professional capabilities. This was also done by the principle of SD Laboratory UKSW in solving problems related to the administration assessment of learning where there were some teachers in SD Laboratory UKSW not yet competent in preparing the learning assessment administration well. Supervision technique conducted by discussion. The result of supervision performed by principle of SD Laboratory UKSW showed an increasement. At the initial conditions the average level of competence of learning assessment administration preparation was 63.5 (ideal score of 100).  After given the action, the average of competence of learning assessment administration preparation was increased to 89.6. The data showed that the competence of learning assessment administration preparation has increased 26.2%.

Abstract

Statistics can be viewed as a tool to solve problems that always occur in everyday life,workplace, and science. Based on the observation on the students, it was found that the there was statistical reasoning abilities of different students. This could be demonstrated by the acquisition of the different test scores, in which there were students who just copy the questions until finishing the work on the problems given. This study discussesed the development deduction level / degree of statistical reasoning skills based on understanding and opinion of several experts, which were constructed based on the results of a case study of mathematics education on STKIP students of Sebelas April Sumedang with statistical research material.

Abstract

This research was a descriptive non-experimental (field study) that attempted to describe the level of students’ mastery on the primary teachers education’s student of Atma Jaya Catholic University, specifically the cognitive aspects of basic mathematic and English language referred to curriculum of 2008. This study aimed to 1) mapping of the students’ mastery of mathematics and its relevancy, 2) mapping of the students’ mastery of English Language and its relevancy. The respondents of this study were 56 students of 2010-2012 batches. The results of this study indicated that the mathematical ability of students was considered good and the English language ability was sufficient.

Abstract

Elementary lesson plan course is a compulsory subject for students in PGSD on 5th semester. It is hoped that the students are able to create a learning design. One of the learning outcomes of this course is PGSD students are able to analyze the cognitive dimension of learning objectives based on Blooms taxonomy revision. The problem that often arised was the students faced difficulty to identify learning objectives. This research was a qualitative research. This study aimed to determine the ability of PGSD students in analyzing the cognitive dimension of learning objectives. This study used three students class of 2014 from PGSD Universitas Adi Buana PGRI Surabaya, consisted of student who has high, medium and low capability. The instruments used were worksheets of analysis of learning objectives and guidelines for the interview. Data were collected by tests and interviews. Data analysis technique using reducing of data, presenting of data, and make inferences. The result showed that subject with high capability has been able to analyze the cognitive dimension of learning objectives well. Subject with medium and low capability have not been able to analyze the cognitive dimension of learning objectives well. It was shown from the error analysis of learning objectives and interviews. Obstacles faced by students were they did not understand the cognitive dimensions according to Bloom. The students did not understand the purpose of learning well according to the ABCD rule, and lack of precision in the analysis.

Abstract

Latar belakang masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan saintifik sebagai proses kegiatan pembelajaran dari penerapan Kurikulum 2013 belum berfungsi dengan maksimal, sehingga menyebabkan rendahnya ketuntasan yang belum mencapai persentase minimal KKM yang ditentukan oleh sekolah. Dipilih model Problem Solving yang berpotensi untuk menerapkan pendekatan saintifik dalam meningkatkan kompetensi hasil belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah model Problem Solving melalui pendekatan saintifik dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar muatan IPA pada siswa kelas 5 SDN Ngening 01 Tahun Pelajaran 2014/1015. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 siklus, siklus I terdiri dari 3 kali pertemuan dan siklus II terdiri dari 3 kali petemuan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 5A SDN Ngening 01 yang berjumlah 20 siswa dengan karakteristik yang heterogen. Pembelajaran mengacu pada langkah-langkah model Problem Solving yang terdiri atas lima tahapan yaitu mengidentifikasi permasalahan, membatasi permasalahan, menyusun hipotesis, mengumpulkan data, dan menguji hipotesis dengan membuat simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata hasil belajar muatan IPA. Pada kondisi awal nilai rata-rata siswa yaitu 62,40 dengan persentase ketuntasan 40%. Pada pembelajaran Siklus I dengan menerapkan model Problem Solving, nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 71,80 dengan persentase ketuntasan 50%. Pada pembelajaran siklus II nilai rata-rata siswa 87,15 dengan persentase ketuntasan 100%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Problem Solving dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar muatan IPA siswa kelas 5A SDN Ngening 01.

Abstract

Berpikir kritis adalah proses berpikir yang cukup kompleks. Kekomplek-sannya ini membuat sebagian orang pesimis untuk bisa menghadirkannya dalam proses pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Temuan dari hasil-hasil penelitian beraneka ragam, namun tetap, masih menjadi pertanyaan, stimulus apa yang paling memungkinkan bagi siswa sekolah dasar untuk berpikir kritis. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan hal mendasar yang dapat menstimulus berpikir kritis di sekolah dasar. Melalui pembahasan dari beberapa literatur, ditemukan bahwa masalah dan dialog dapat menjadi dasar bagi kehadiran berpikir kritis dalam proses pembela-jaran di sekolah dasar.
