Abstract

Ensuring that airside areas are free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) is a critical activity in aviation, as FOD poses a significant threat to aircraft operations during takeoff and landing. This study aims to enhance FOD detection at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang by developing an automated detection system that utilizes image processing technology in combination with the YOLO algorithm. Traditional FOD detection methods rely heavily on manual inspections, which are often hampered by blind spots, time constraints, and human error. The proposed webcam-based system significantly improves accuracy and speed in identifying foreign objects, thereby contributing to flight safety by effectively reducing the presence of FOD on runways. By facilitating real-time detection, this research seeks to enhance operational safety, minimize risks of aircraft damage, and reduce costly delays, while also alleviating the burden on personnel. Utilizing the Research and Development (R&D) method based on the Borg and Gall model, the study progresses through seven stages. The developed technology successfully detects four types of FOD with reasonable accuracy: bird carcasses up to 5 meters away, paper up to 3 meters, and both metal and aggregate up to 2 meters. Feedback gathered from surveys distributed to airport technicians reveals a very satisfactory response regarding the device's performance. Ultimately, this technology aims to minimize the risk of FOD-related accidents, ensuring optimal safety for passengers and aircraft alike.

Abstract

Airports heavily rely on stable electricity, with transformers as essential components for converting electrical voltage. High temperatures in transformers can cause degradation of the cooling oil, insulation damage, and a reduction in the transformer's lifespan that coul be degrade aviation safety standard. The incident on the transformer at SS2 Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang due to overheating caused a significant impact on airport operations. This research aims to develop microcontroller technology to identify and predict potential issues in critical electrical components, particularly transformers, before failures occur and conduct the system testing. This effort is relevant to a safety strategy based on predictive maintenance to prevent accidents. This research using the fourth stage of the Maxim’s model of R&D method includes planning, development, and testing under conditions that resemble real-life situations. The research began by identifying needs through interviews and observations, which indicated the necessity of monitoring transformer temperature with early notifications and automatic exhaust fan control. The test results show that the system functions well in detecting temperature, activating the exhaust fan when the temperature reaches the threshold, and sending alarm notifications through the Blynk application. Suitability aspect testing indicate that the prototype received a positive response regarding functionality with an average score of 2.67, which falls into the valid feasibility category. It is expected to significantly contribute to developing microcontroller technology in safety, provide databased for predictive maintenance and offer practical solutions for improving the reliability and operational efficiency of electrical distribution systems at airports.

Abstract

Customer loyalty to mobile products in Indonesia is influenced by various factors, including download speed, upload internet speed, latency, streaming, and browsing. This study aims to analyze the effect of Omnichannel Customer Experience (OCX) on Cellular Product Loyalty (CPL) through the mediation role of Customer Repurchase Intentions (CRI) and Word of Mouth (WoM). This study uses an explanatory survey design involving 384 mobile product users throughout Indonesia, who were selected using proportional sampling techniques. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive and verification methods, using Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) to test the relationship between variables. The findings of the study indicate that OCX does not have a direct effect on CPL, but must go through the mediation of CRI and WoM. Between the two mediators, WoM has a stronger influence than CRI, indicating that a positive omnichannel experience encourages customers to recommend products, ultimately increasing customer loyalty. The novelty of this research lies in simultaneously testing the relationship between OCX, CRI, and WoM on CPL in the context of the cellular industry, as well as identifying the more dominant mediation pathways in increasing customer loyalty. The implications of this research provide insights for telecommunications companies to focus more on omnichannel strategies that can improve customer experience and encourage Word of Mouth, as well as for the government in designing policies that support the digital ecosystem for the cellular industry in Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a machine translation of Bugis to Indonesian and vice versa in order to preserve the Bugis language. This research utilizes a recent dataset consisting of 30,000 Bugis-Indonesian sentence pairs from the online Bible. This research conducts scraping to compile the corpus which is then followed by manual and automatic pre-processing. The method chosen is Neural Machine Translation (NMT) while for training and testing models Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) is used. The performance of the model is evaluated by Bilingual Evaluation Understudy (BLEU) score to measure the translation accuracy at various epochs. In addition, this study also compared the use of Adam's optimizer with non-optimizer. The results showed that the use of Adam's optimizer significantly improved the performance of the model where at epoch 2000 the model achieved the highest BLEU score of 0.996261 indicating highly accurate translation quality. In contrast, the model without the optimizer showed lower performance. Other results also found that the translation from Bugis to Indonesian was more accurate than from Indonesian to Bugis. This is due to the more balanced word count difference in the Bugis to Indonesian translation, which makes it easier for the model to match words. In conclusion, the use of NMT with Adam optimizer effectively improves the accuracy of two-way translation from Bugis-Indonesian.
