Abstract

This research aims to describe the forms of language errors in the field of morphology in scientific articles by Seribu Bukit state high school students. The research data is in the form of 27 student scientific articles. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. The analysis technique used is the test technique. The test is in the form of a scientific article. Students are asked to write scientific articles. The results of this research show that the forms of morphological errors found in scientific articles of class not standard. The form of error in the field of reduplication lies in its redundant/pleonic use. The form of a composite error lies in the procedure for writing it. The findings of this research show that language errors in the morphological aspect are found in grammatical errors, diction errors, affixation errors, and composite errors.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the form of ego defense mechanism of the wife in the Short Film ”Pejuang Garis Dua” by @mteampictures. This kind of research is qualitative descriptive. The researcher collect data sources in the speech of the main character, Zahra, which is in the movie. The researcher do the research phase, which is data collection, data reduction, data analysis, and deduce. In data collection, the researcher watch a movie, doing a speech impediment in the movie, feeding data on speech, and classify data by category. Then, the data is reduced by selecting needed data or discard unnecessary data. The data analysis use ego defense mechanism Sigmund Freud Theory. Next step is the researcher explain the result of descriptive research result. The final step is deduce. The result of this research is the ego defense mechanism present because it growing anxiety resulting from the inability desire in the id. The form of the ego defense mechanism found in the wife is displacement, repression, sublimation, adan rationalization.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to investigate the existential implications of the concept of 'lightness' in Milan Kundera's novel "The Unbearable Lightness of Being." The research explores how Kundera's philosophical perspective on 'lightness' contrasts with traditional existential themes of 'heaviness' and historical determinism, as proposed by Nietzsche. Using a qualitative descriptive methodology, the study examines the narrative techniques and character developments in the novel to illustrate Kundera's existential themes. Data were collected through detailed textual analysis of the novel, supplemented by secondary sources such as previous scholarly works, journal articles, and philosophical texts relevant to existentialism. The findings reveal that Kundera uses 'lightness' to depict the freedom from moral and social burdens, highlighting the transient and often absurd nature of human existence. Characters like Tomas and Sabina embody the struggle between 'lightness' and 'heaviness,' reflecting the existential tension between freedom and responsibility. The study concludes that Kundera's narrative encourages readers to contemplate the balance between individual autonomy and the inherent responsibilities of existence, offering a profound critique of the human condition and the quest for meaning in an unpredictable world.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki implikasi eksistensial dari konsep 'lightness' dalam novel Milan Kundera "The Unbearable Lightness of Being." Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana perspektif filosofis Kundera tentang 'lightness' bertentangan dengan tema eksistensial tradisional 'heaviness' dan determinisme sejarah, seperti yang diusulkan oleh Nietzsche. Menggunakan metodologi deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini memeriksa teknik naratif dan pengembangan karakter dalam novel untuk menggambarkan tema eksistensial Kundera. Data dikumpulkan melalui analisis tekstual mendetail dari novel, ditambah dengan sumber sekunder seperti karya ilmiah sebelumnya, artikel jurnal, dan teks filosofis yang relevan dengan eksistensialisme. Temuan mengungkapkan bahwa Kundera menggunakan 'lightness' untuk menggambarkan kebebasan dari beban moral dan sosial, menyoroti sifat eksistensi manusia yang sementara dan seringkali absurd. Karakter seperti Tomas dan Sabina mewakili perjuangan antara 'lightness' dan 'heaviness,' mencerminkan ketegangan eksistensial antara kebebasan dan tanggung jawab. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa narasi Kundera mendorong pembaca untuk merenungkan keseimbangan antara otonomi individu dan tanggung jawab inheren dari keberadaan, menawarkan kritik mendalam terhadap kondisi manusia dan pencarian makna dalam dunia yang tidak terduga.

Abstract

Language politeness is how to maintain one’s speech when communicating so as not to offend other people’s feelings. This research aims to describe the use of the greeting ”yang” as an application of the maxim of appreciation in traditional markets in Surabaya. The markets chosen to be research objects are Pucang Market, Pagesangan Market, Turi Market, Manukan Market, and Genteng Market. This research applies Geoffrey Leech’s politeness thepry. The research approach used is a qualitative approach with observational data collection techniques, determining markets, visiting designated markets, preparing recording equipment, visiting kiosks, recording people’s speech, and transcribing data. The data analysis technique uses descriptive methods. From the research results, it can be concluded that the results of data analysis amount to seven utterances that use the greeting ”yang” in the Surabaya traditional market. The purpose of using the greeting ”yang” in social interactions in traditional markets in Surabaya is very diverse, some of which aim to attract the attention of buyers to buy their wares, some to seduce buyers to buy their wares in large quantities, and some are used to appreciate fellow sellers and buyers.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menguraikan proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran kosakata bahasa Asing (Inggris dan Prancis) dengan menggunakan teknik Spelling Bee, mengevaluasi kemampuan mahasiswa setelah penggunaan teknik Spelling Bee dan mengeksplorasi pendapat mahasiswa setelah menggunakan teknik tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode pra-eksperimen dengan one shot case study design.  Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah studi Pustaka, tes dan angket. Adapun populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah Mahasiswa semester dua program studi pariwisata universitas Garut, dan sampel penelitian yang diambil adalah 28 orang Mahasiswa. Setelah dilakukan analisis data, diperoleh hasil penelitian bahwa penggunaan Teknik Spelling Bee efektif dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Asing (Inggris dan Prancis). Hal ini terlihat dari hasil nilai rata-rata sebesar 80,5. Berdasarkan skala penilaian nilai tersebut masuk ke dalam klasifikasi baik. Tanggapan positif juga terlihat dari hasil kuesioner bahwa pembelajaran Bahasa Asing (Inggris dan Prancis) menggunakan Spelling Bee menunjukkan respon positif. Hal tersebut terlihat dari persentase angket sebesar 100% mahasiswa merasa penguasaan kosakata secara fonologis dan maknawi meningkat.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the subject-object position and writer-reader position in the discourse of reporting femicide via the Tribun News YouTube page using the Sara Mills model of discourse study analysis. The method in this research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The data collection technique was carried out using listening techniques, namely listening without being involved, listening, recording and taking notes. The data source used in this research comes from the Tribun News YouTube page for the 2019-2024 period. The results of the analysis show that from the Tribun News video, 9 news stories were found that indicated the issue of femicide which placed the perpetrator as an active subject and the victim as a passive object. News writers act as conveyers of information who often take a neutral position but have a big influence in shaping readers' views. Through word choice and narrative focus, the author can move the reader's emotions to feel sympathy for the victim and hatred for the perpetrator. Readers, on the other hand, are positioned as recipients of information who are expected to respond emotionally to the events reported, especially through the presentation of the often dramatic and horrific details of the crime.

Abstract

AbstractTeaching materials are an important component to influence the motivation and interest of BIPA learners. This study aims to describe the use of teaching materials based on concept maps containing the legend of Surabaya based on the results of problem analysis and needs analysis. Data collection techniques were carried out through literature studies, observations, and interviews with teachers, students, and the head of BIPA, Surabaya State University. The data analysis technique used the Miles & Huberman model. The results of the study showed that teachers agreed to the use of teaching materials based on concept maps. Concept maps are recognized as an effective graphic tool in language learning. Utilization of concept maps using Canva. BIPA students responded positively to the use of concept maps using Canva media. The legend of Surabaya was chosen as the content of teaching materials because the history of Surabaya is important to be used as a topic for developing teaching materials as a means of promoting the city of Surabaya and Surabaya State University itself. The use of teaching materials based on concept maps with the content of the Surabaya legend will be applied to level 3 reading classes at Surabaya State University.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi aspek psikologi yang digambarkan oleh tokoh bernama Nuryati dalam novel Riviera karya Sitta M Zein. Studi ini berdokus pada faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tokoh Nuryati sehingga berusaha mencapai superioritas dan bentuk usaha tokoh Nuryati dalam mencapai superioritas. Nuryati memiliki masa lalu yang penuh tantangan dan hambatan. Riviera, anak Nuryati, memiliki impian untuk dapat berkuliah di perguruan tinggi negeri. Realitas kehidupan dengan mimpinya cukup bertolak belakang sehingga tak jarang membuat Riviera maupun sang ibu merasa rendah diri. Rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini adalah faktor-faktor untuk mencapai superioritas dan bentuk usaha dalam mencapai superioritas, sesuai dengan teori psikologi Alfred Adler. Penelitian ini berjenis kualitatif dengan data berupa kata, frasa, kalimat, atau paragraf dari novel Riviera sebagai sumber datanya. Teknik untuk mengumpulkan data menggunakan simak catat. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis heuristik dan hermeneutik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa faktor yang mempengaruhi tokoh Nuryati mencapai superioritas karena perasaan malu, pesismisme, dan dinaika keluarga. Adapun bentuk usaha tokoh Nuryati mencapai superioritas yaitu tujuan akhir, daya juang, serta perjuangan meraih superioritas pribadi dan bersama.

Abstract

Abstract  This study aims to describe the meaning of respectful attitude of the Lamahholot community in the short story Koda by Silvester Petara Hurit. The attitude of life of the Lamaholot community, including the attitude of respect, is something that is inherent in the self, a habit that is carried out from generation to generation which describes the characteristics of the identity of the Lamaholot people who obediently maintain relationships with God, others, the universe, the environment, and themselves. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive method that intends to understand the phenomena experienced by the research subject such as behavior, perception, motivation, action, and others. The results of the study can be concluded that the meaning of the attitude of respect for the Lamahholot community in the short story Koda by Silvester Petara Hurit, as follows (1) the attitude of respect has the meaning of protecting, protecting, maintaining, guarding, (2) the attitude of obedience and obedience has the meaning of appreciating, accepting, recognizing, respecting, (3) courageous and critical attitude means openness, courage, responsibility to instill and maintain noble values such as honesty, (4) religious attitude means maintaining harmony, maintaining faith, openness, responsibility, and (5) attitude to maintain cultural heritage means respect, care, care and responsibility.  AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan makna sikap penghormatan masyarakat Lamahholot dalam cerpen Koda karya Silvester Petara Hurit. Sikap hidup masyarakat Lamaholot termasuk sikap penghormatan merupakan sesuatu yang melekat dalam diri, kebiasaan yang dijalankan turun temurun yang menggambarkan ciri identitas masyarakat Lamaholot yang taat menjaga hubungan dengan Tuhan, sesama, alam semesta, lingkungan, dan diri sendiri. Metode penelitian menggunakan  metode deskriptif kualitatif yang bermaksud memahami fenomena-fenomena apa yang dialami subjek penelitian misalnya perilaku, persepsi, motivasi, tindakan, dan lain-lain. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan makna sikap penghormatan masyarakat Lamahholot dalam cerpen Koda karya Silvester Petara Hurit, sebagai berikut (1) sikap penghargaan memiliki makna melindungi, menjaga, memelihara, mengawal, (2) sikap patuh dan taat memiliki makna menghargai, menerima, mengakui, menghormati, (3) sikap berani dan kritis memiliki makna keterbukaan, keberanian, tanggung jawab menanamkan dan mempertahankan nilai-nilai luhur seperti kejujuran, (4) sikap religious memiliki makna menjaga keharmonisan, menjaga iman, keterbukaan, tanggung jawab, dan (5) sikap menjaga warisan budaya memiliki makna menghargai, menjaga, peduli dan tanggung jawab.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implications of Lamaholot local wisdom on learning Indonesian language and literature. The research method uses a qualitative method. The implications of Lamaholot local wisdom in learning Indonesian language and literature provide benefits through creativity and noble values of local wisdom with the following conclusions, (1) making Lamaholot local wisdom as teaching materials taken from the cultural wealth in the Lamaholot area, (2) teaching Lamaholot local wisdom using certain and special methods through direct practice to direct students, students can understand, find, transcribe culture, analyze, interpret, explain and implement in everyday life. (3) through Lamaholot local wisdom learning activities, teachers or educators can create learning strategies that further encourage student motivation to understand, interpret and have cultural wisdom, and (4) through Lamaholot local wisdom learning can provide benefits for students to uphold the values and characters of cooperation, honesty, responsibility, courage, religiosity, morals, social as the foundation of life.
