Abstract

Teh hijau memiliki nama spesies Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze, family Theaceae dan Jati belanda (Guazuma ulmifolia Lam.) termasuk kedalam family sterculiaceae Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah melakukan standarisasi ekstrak air daun jati belanda dan ekstrak air the hijau. Ekstrak distandardisasi dengan beberapa dua parameter yaitu parameter spesifik dan parameter non spesifik. Kadar sari larut air pada jati belanda 12,88 % dan teh hijau 40,88, sedangkan kadar sari larut etanol pada jati belanda 4, 23 % dan pada teh hijau 4,23 %. Hasil pengujian kandungan kimia menunjukkan pada ekstrak jati belanda mengandung saponin dan flavonoid sedangkan pada teh hijau mengandung tanin dan flavonoid. Kadar air ekstrak daun jati belanda 0,95 % dan teh hijau 2,79%. Hasil kadar abu total jati belanda sebesar 37,61% dan teh hijau 36,84%. Kadar abu tidak larut asam yaitu pada jati belanda sebesar 3,54% dan teh hijau 3,77%. Hasil dari penetapan susut pengeringan pada ekstrak jati belanda yaitu 0,46 % dan teh hijau 0,46 %. Ekstrak jati belanda maupun teh hijau berdasarkan pengujian standarisasi meliputi parameter spesifik dan non-spesifik memenuhi standarisasi mutu bahan baku.

Abstract

Have been conducted by a obstetrical research of vitamin C at juicy tuber by spectrophotometry UV – Vis.  The research aim to determine and compare the content of vitamin C from juicy tuber. Firstly fruit of juicy tuberare cleared by their seed then it weighed after that it enhanced by oxilate acid 0.4% and than it blended and filtered. Filtrat obtained to qualitative analyze by using the react specific and standarization of vitamin C using the spectrophotometry UV – Visible at wave legth 516 nm obtained rate of mean vitamin C that is juicy tuber yaitu 91.97 mg/100g.

Abstract

Flavonoids are natural phenolic compounds found in almost all plants that have potential as antioxidants. Based on previous research, stating that black soybeans contain compounds of flavonoids. This analysis aims to establish the levels of total flavonoids on ethanol extract of black soybean hydrolyzed. Determination of total flavonoid levels of ethanol extract of black soybean hydrolyzed has been made with UV-Vis spectrophotometry method. Black soybean hydrolyzed using HCl and extracted using ethanol 70%. The extracts obtained were analyzed qualitative by the method of coloring reaction and quantitative analysis using UV-Vis spectrophotometer, where quercetin is used as a reference standard. Measurements were performed at maximum wavelength of 444.45 nm. The research showed the average level of total flavonoids is 11.83 mgQE / g extract or 1,163 %. In conclusion extract of black soybean hydrolyzed rich of total flavonoids, and it is related to the activity as antioxidant.

Abstract

A study of identification and assay of prednisone in rheumatic jamu. The aim of this study to identify the presence of Chemicals Drug (CD) in containing prednisone in rheumatic jamu with TLC-densitometry method. Samples extracted with Mesceration method using etanol 96% solvent by sonicator. Qualitative analysis using thin layer chromatography (TLC) with a mobile phase of chloroform : ethyl acetate (1 : 9) indicates that the sample A containing Prednison. Quantitative analysis using a TLC-densitometry at a maximum wave-length 254 nm. The result is one containing prednisone that suspected sample “A” is 475,421 µg/mL and the percentage is 4,754%.

Abstract

Herba meniran secara empiris telah lama digunakan oleh masyarakat sebagai obat tradisional. Ditinjau dari prospek yang sangat potensial sebagai bahan obat maka perlu dilakukan kajian farmakognostik sampel untuk pengendalian mutu dan keaslian simplisia. Penelitian ini bertujuan memberikan dasar ilmiah mengenai gambaran farmakognostik secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif telah dideskripsikan. Kajian morfologi  pada daun  herba meniran hijau (Phyllanthus niruri L.) dan daun  herba meniran merah (Phyllanthus urinaria L.) memiliki bentuk yang  sama. Pada batang memiliki perbedaan, meniran hijau percabangannya monopodial dan berwarna hijau sedang meniran merah percabangannya simpodial dan berwarna merah. Pada akar sama-sama berakar tunggang serta berwarna putih kekuningan. Berdasarkan kajian anatomi pada meniran hijau (Phyllanthus niruri L.) dan Meniran merah (Phyllanthus urinaria L.) memiliki bentuk yang sama baik dari daun, batang maupun akarnya. Berdasarkan kajian identifikasi kandungan kimianya pada meniran hijau (Phyllanthus niruri L.) mengandung tanin (katekol), saponin dan karbohidrat, sedangkan pada meniran merah (Phyllanthus urinaria L.) hanya mengandung tanin (katekol) dan saponin.

Abstract

The Myrmecodia species as medicinal plants find Papua Island and Sumatera Island like Aceh forest.It is a member of Rubiaceae family and lives as ephyphyte on other plants. Local peoples in Aceh province boiled the tubers parts of myrmecodia species to treat inflammation, rheumatic,cancer and other diseases. Meanwhile, there is still limited scientific evidence to proof the efficacy of myrmecodia species.  The dried simplicia was extracted using maceration technique, then partitioned usingn-hexane, chloroform and n-buthanol solvent. Toxicity test was  done by the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BST) methodat four concentration levels, i.e: 1000, 500, 250, 125 and 6.5 ppm. The result of the research showed that n-buthanol, chloroform and n-hexan of Myrmecodia sphad acute toxicity by LC50 value 97.72 ppm, 262.02 ppm and 223.87 ppm respectively. Analysis Infrared spectrum of buthanol extract showed some functional groups. like hydroxy, aether and aromatic ring.

Abstract

Plants which have a potential effect as antihyperglycemic are papaya leaf and bay leaf. Papaya leaf and bay leaf have a bioactive flavonoid component, which was suggested to have reduction effect on blood glucose. The purpose of this research was to examine the effectiveness of papaya leaf and bay leaf extract, which have been formulated in tablet form to decrease blood glucose level on diabetic Sprague dawley rats induced by alloxan. Twenty male rats were divided into four groups, Each group consists of five rats, namely group I as a positive control (metformin 12.6 mg/200g BW), group II (oral tablet 1.282 mg/200g BW), group III (oral tablet 2.564 mg/200g BW) as extract treatment group, and group IV as negative control. The treatment was carried out for 28 days. The result of this research showed that tablet of papaya leaf and bay leaf extract can be used as antihyperglycemic with the most effective dose was 2.564 mg/200g BB (group III) and the treatment for twelve days.

Abstract

Kecombrang (Etlingera elatior Jack.) is one of the plants growing in the area of Palopo, South Sulawesi. Kecombrang included in the Zingiberaceae family and rhizome of kecombrang widely used by the community as an antioxidant. This research aimed to determine the phenolic content on the methanol extract of the rhizome kecombrang. Methanol extract of rhizhome kecombrang obtained by maceration method with methanol P. Chemical component analysis used thin layer chromatography (TLC) is characterized by the appearance of spot. Determination of the phenolic content of the methanol extract of rhizomes kecombrang used the TLC-densitometry. The results showed that the phytochemical assay on methanol extract of kecombrang rhizomes positively countains 144.43 µg phenolic compounds.

Abstract

Soursop belongs to Annonaceae family. In the traditional medicine has been as anticancer, antivirus, wound healing, lowering uric acid levels. This study aims to determine the IC80value extract ethanolic of soursop bark to sea urchin egg (Tripneustes gratilla L.) fertilized. Dryed sample extracted by maceration method using ethanol solvent. Retrieved rendamen extract as much as 2,525 %. Based on qualitative test chemical components that extract ethanolic of soursop bark contain   tannins, saponins, alkaloids and flavonoids. Antimitotic test conducted on extract ethanolic of soursop bark (A.muricata) obtained by looking at the sea urchin egg cell inhibition (Tripneustes gratilla L.) to calculate IC80 values by probit analysis method. Antimitotic test results showed that the extract ethanolic of soursop bark (A.muricata) as an antimitotic active with IC80 values of 1,56 x 10-3 mg/ml. Although the potential is lower than that of vincristine inhibit 80 % of eggs fertilized with Tripneustes gratilla L. IC80value is 7,046 x 10-7 mg/ml.

Abstract

Aedes spp larval resistance against chemical insecticide has been reported in many country. The new methods that can be used to control the mosquito populations as a dengue fever vector and alternative compound which is safe for environtment and can’t cause the resistance need to be found. Pandan leaves have aromatic fragrant that can be expected as a oviposition deterrent effect against Aeses spp mosquito. To know oviposition deterrent effects and optimum consentration of pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) infusa against Aedes spp. This research was an experimental research using six groups of concentration. There was 0 mL/L (control), 3 mL/L, 3,5 mL/L, 4 mL/L, 4,5 mL/L and 5 mL/L. Every groups would be repeated by fourth. Ovitraps with different concentration of pandan leaves infusa placed at research location. The mosquito eggs that caught at the ovitrap would be counting and identifying in the laboratorium. Data was analyzed using One Way Anova test via computer program SPSS 19.0 and then continued by LSD test with 95% confidence level. The repellency percentage at 3 mL/L concentration is 30.35%; 3,5 mL/L is 55.35%; 4 mL/L is 65.17%; 4,5 mL/L is 82.14% and 5 mL/L is 100% with significancy value is 0,000 (p<0,05).
