Abstract

Software Defined Networking (SDN) is a network architecture that separates the control plane from the data plane. SDN network architecture divides incoming requests to be given to a server. SDN uses OpenFlow version 1.3 as a protocol and load balancing to distribute the load on two or even more balanced network connections. Load balancing has an algorithm that is use to distribute requests to each server. There were several algorithms that have been used before, one of them is the least traffic algorithm. This research uses the Source IP Hash algorithm, and Ryu as the controller that functions to allocate the server by doing a hash on the source IP address. This algorithm is tested and analyzed its performance on, response time, throughput, and packet loss. The throughput value of the source IP hash algorithm reaches 206 mbps while the least traffic algorithm is 106 mbps. Packet Loss that occured in the source IP hash algorithm is 0% while the least traffic algorithm experienced packet loss with the category high as much as 4.009%. From the two results of throughput and packet loss tested, it is concluded that the source IP hash algorithm handles requests from clients better than least traffic. The Source IP Hash algorithm could allocated the same source IP address to the same server, while the least traffic algorithm must selected the server by making a loop based on low traffic.

Abstract

This research applied quantitative approach and correlational research method in order to find out the influence of peer social support variables and learning discipline on the students learning outcomes in the subject of Wide Area Network (WAN) for students of Grade XI TKJ at SMK Negeri 6 Malang. In doing activities of field industrial practice, students face technical aspects of wired and wireless networks oftentimes. Besides, student understanding of network design and management is still considered as less, due to so this research took WAN subjects as the research area. The data of peer social support and learning discipline were obtained from the results of the questionnaire, while the data of student learning outcomes were obtained from the documentation of research. The study population included 68 students of Grade XI TKJ 2 and XI TKJ 3, SMK Negeri 6 Malang in which they also take parts as research samples (technique of saturation sampling). The classic assumption trial was performed firstly and the results of research data were normally distributed, linear and there were no symptoms of multicollinearity, and also the heteroscedasticity did not occur, so that the parametric statistical approach was applied in the data analysis. Thereafter, regression, correlation, and hypothesis tests were used in analyzing the data. The results showed that there was no influence from peer social support variables and learning discipline toward student learning outcomes, which meant that H0 was accepted. Whereas, the results of the regression significance numbers of the research variables partially or simultaneously obtained successive results of 0.241> 0.05; 0.117> 0.05; 0.233> 0.05.

Abstract

Telkom Indonesia is a company that utilizes technology to manage leave. But on the implementation, there are still several obstacles to that leave management. One of them is when the employee wants to apply for leave but the head is not in place, leave approval cannot be given. Another obstacle is the process of leave submission cannot be monitored. Therefore, the redesign process is needed for desktop and mobile-based applications so the leave management process can be easier. The redesign process must be considered user experience therefore the application can long-lasting to be used by the user. This redesign process is used the Human-Centered Design (HCD) approach. HCD involves a human, perspective, in this case the users and stakeholders, in the whole process of developing solutions, which consist of several phases. The phase of specifying the context of use and the user requirements is carried out by interviewing Telkom Indonesia stakeholders and also observing pre-existing applications. From this process, the information obtained is there will be three users in the application, that is employee, admin, and approver, which each of them has different characteristics and tasks. The produced design solution phase is generated wireframe, screenflow, and high-fidelity prototype which is the final result of the application interface display later. The phase of evaluating the design carried out using the heuristic evaluation method by three evaluators. Total of nineteen problems found in the design solutions. From all the problems, there are five problems that are priorities for improvement. However, improvements were also made to other problems so as to leave as many as zero problems.

Abstract

Various plans and strategies were made by Indonesian educational institutions to increase a quality of education, one of them is a work program from Brawijaya University called "UBAQA (UB Annual Quality Award)". UBAQA has goals to evaluate and appreciate all unit in Brawijaya that give a good services. In this case, a system needed to assist the work of UBAQA. In additional to existing features, the user experience is also important to improve usability system Designing user experience by applying information visualization so the information is easier to understand. The monitoring process can be more effective by designing an UBAQA information system dashboard. An approach that used in this research is human centered design, and used the elements of user experience for design phases. The design stages are context specifications, user needs analysis, design, and evaluation. Evaluation was done in 2 times, that is testing with user use Single Ease Questionnaire (SEQ) and expert use heuristic evaluation, From the evaluation result 17 interface problems were found, 8 of them are from user and 9 of them are from expert. After the evaluation phase, the author make improvements to the interface according to suggestions given. This research was done by three times iteration to meet user needs.

Abstract

Malang has the potential for beach tourism which can be one of the factors that can improve its own development and power. Previously, there was a recommendation system in determining beach tourism destinations but only limited to the use of 1 user. Therefore, a recommendation application development using the Group Decision Support System (GDSS) approach can be developed which can be used to help tourists who come in groups to determine their tourist destinations. The TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) method is implemented to determine alternative tourism destination choices and Borda is used for group voting to determine group recommendations. Application development is done on an android basis using Location Based Service (LBS) so that it can adjust to the user's location to determine recommendations. This study discusses the analysis of user needs, design of system, design of algorithm, implementation of the system, test and evaluation of system. From the blackbox test we get a valid result where all functions can work well. In algorithm testing, the recommendations displayed by the system are the same as for manual calculations. Usability testing produces an average value of 75 of 5 respondents who were measured using the SUS method, so it's known that the system that built can be properly used by users.

Abstract

According to survey about restaurant visitors, 41% respondents claim that the crowded restaurant is a problem when visiting a restaurant. Others also declare that information about restaurant crowd is necessary before coming to a restaurant. Although that problem is already solved by Google Maps Popular Times, the feature still has weak point. The feature only works on popular places and requires a large set of data to estimate the crowd level. In this research, a system named RestoCrowd is developed to test a method used to estimate restaurant visitors with minimum dataset and efficient power consumption. The system is consisted of an Android-based applicationa and a web service to aggregate the crowdsourced data. The Black-box testing states that the proposed system already satisfies the system requirements. The power consumption testing states that the background service used to detect devices only uses 0,6668 mAh at most (2 mAh in an hour). The proposed system has an average accuracy of 80,63% from 83 data samples for training and 12 data samples for testing.

Abstract

Agency of Telecommunications and Information Accessibility (BAKTI) is an institution under the auspices of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics which functions to manage the financing and provision of telecommunications in Indonesia. BAKTI has a major work program to build telecommunications infrastructure in Indonesia, especially in the 3T regions (outermost, outermost, and disadvantaged). One of BAKTI's main work programs is the Palapa Ring Project (PARING). In implementing the PARING project, problems that are often found are miscommunication between stakeholders involved, there is no standard business process flow and only uses a command system, in addition to other problems that can be found when conducting analysis and evaluation of existing business processes. Therefore an analysis is needed in evaluating and improving business processes to find problems and maximize running business processes. In this research business process modeling is carried out with Business Process Modeling and Notation (BPMN), then an evaluation of activities in the business process is carried out using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method and recommendations are made to improve business processes using Business Process Improvement (BPI) using tools streamlining. Then the simulation is done and the duration of business process completion is slower than as-is business process up to 4.5% in the Open Tender process, and the duration of business process completion is faster than as-is business process up to 0.88% in the Development process Telecommunications PARING and 1,058% in the Restoration-Maintenance process

Abstract

Posyandu is a health service facility that has the objective to provide health services for the local society, especially for mothers, babies, and toddler. However, based on the interview with one of the nutrition lecturers from FK UB, and with the midwife in charge at Krebet Village, Malang Regency, followed by observation on one of the Posyandu at Krebet Village, Malang Regency, there were several problems found at the Posyandu and on the midwife itself. Because of the process of recording of the health services at the Posyandu is still done manually, and still using many different documents, making the process of recording and making nutrition reports by the midwife vulnerable to mistakes and inorganization. This problem can lead to more mistakes, like for the children's health indication mistake in that area. To solve this problem, a web-based information system using waterfall SDLC and object-oriented approach was developed. On the requirements analysis phase, produced 4 actors, 33 functional requirements, and 1 non-functional requirements. From the results the requirements analysis phase, the design and implementation process using object-oriented approach carried out. The testing phase conducted using validation testing got the score of 100 % valid, as well as the user acceptance test (UAT) to 5 users got the score of 97.1 % acceptance rate, which means that the users strongly agrees to the system that has been made.

Abstract

SIP Dispendukcapil Jember adalah aplikasi mobile yang dikembangkan oleh Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil Kabupaten Jember yang digunakan sebagai sarana untuk melakukan layanan penduduk secara online. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara kepada pengembang dan pengguna aplikasi terdapat beberapa keluhan terkait dengan aplikasi SIP yang berkaitan dengan aspek usability. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan dua metode yaitu usability testing dengan aspek effectiveness, efficiency dan satisfaction yang dilakukan oleh responden dan heuristic evaluation dengan menggunakan sembilan prinsip heuristic yang dilakukan oleh evalutor. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh 19 permasalahan usability. 14 permasalahan ditemukan pada saat melakukan heuristic evaluation dan 5 permasalan ditemukan pada saat usability testing. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan dua metode tersebut menemukan 3 permasalahan usability yang sama. Pengujian usability menghasilkan tingkat effectiviness sebesar 80%, efficiency sebesar 67% dan satisfaction dengan rata-rata 45,62. Permasalahan usability dengan menggunakan heuristic evaluation berdasarkan 9 prinsip Monroy. Masalah ditemukan paling banyak pada prinsip MA04 achieve consistency dan MA06 have the app remember important stuff and not the user masing-masing sebanyak 4 permasalahan. Secara keseluruhan pada heuristic evaluation ditemukan masalah sebanyak 14. Permasalahan usability ditemukan 3 permasalahan pada kategori minor usability problem, 6 permasalahan mayor usability problem dan 5 permasalahan usability catsastrophe.

Abstract

Funtech Plaza is one of the technology-themed tourist attractions that is part of East Java Park 3. Funtech Plaza has a website that has plain-looking design problems and less informative content that requires improvements in terms of user interface and information architecture. The method used in this study is the Goal-Directed Design that is used to design websites in accordance with the goals of the user and to support the business goals of an organization. The Goal-Directed Design method consists of 6 phases. In this study only used 5 phases because it did not reach the implementation phase. In this study, interviews were conducted, to find out website problems, evaluations using the SUS questionnaire, identify content requirements, and make website prototypes. The results of the SUS test on the evaluation get an average value of 44 while the SUS test on the final evaluation gets an average value of 86.5 so that there are improvements in terms of acceptability ranges, grade scale, adjective ratings, and percentile ranks. From the results of user testing get more positive values ​​than negative values, so it can be concluded that there is an increase in the value of user satisfaction with the Funtech Plaza website.
