Abstract

Digitisation of archives is an effort to preserve and utilise technology in the field of historical archiving. Archives hold significant value as they serve as authentic evidence and a form of ‘retrieval’ communication between the past, present, and future. The development and implementation of technology, particularly in archiving, are not always fully accepted by the agents who are part of the structure executing the archive digitisation policy. One of the challenges is technological resistance within the social elements of the structure, where the lack of training to improve staff competence is identified as an obstacle in the implementation of the archive digitisation policy. The Adaptive Structuration Theory was used as an analytical lens because it provides a holistic framework on how competence, as a social element, contributes to the success of the archive digitisation policy. The research used a qualitative descriptive method, with a case study approach allowing for more comprehensive research. The research paradigm used was constructivist, viewing knowledge as a social construct emerging from interactions and communication within a sociocultural context.

It presents a disciplined framework to assess the social justice impact of corporate actions and offers strategic social communication recommendations for empowering women via CSR, hence, improving CSR and gender research. The report highlights opportunities for development in CSR strategies and best practices, therefore guiding governments and corporate leaders. According to the results, women can be empowered by CSR; social influence depends mostly on communication. Abstract

This research involves a narrative analysis of the news text published in the October 22, 2023, edition of Tempo magazine titled 'Skandal Mahkamah Konstitusi' The Constitutional Court granted the age requirement for presidential and vice-presidential candidates, stipulating that they must be at least 40 years old or have experience as a regional head. As the 2024 Presidential General Election drew nearer, the case became highly controversial. This research explores how Tempo framed its narrative in reporting the Constitutional Court Lawsuit, utilising the Algirdas Greimas model for narrative analysis. The study is qualitative and descriptive. The discussion results reveal that in that edition, Tempo, specifically reported the involvement of Anwar Usman, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court. Anwar Usman was portrayed as the party attempting to navigate the lawsuit with various news narratives, such as 'manoeuvring' and 'lobbying,' during the trial process. Tempo aimed to convey the message that the decision raised various complicated issues and reflected the complex dynamics within the Constitutional Court. Tempo, as a news source, plays a critical role in uncovering hidden realities that can only be revealed through in-depth investigation and extracting information from internal sources within the Constitutional Court. This is Tempo's main strength.

Abstract

In the past five years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has entered Indonesian newsrooms, aligning with the rise of Industry 4.0. This integration is poised to redefine the roles of journalists and media professionals in the future. Semi-automated journalism, a blend of human journalistic practices and AI technology, is being used in newsrooms to create news content. However, it faces challenges such as accuracy, ethics, and concerns about bias. This article uses a comprehensive literature review, covering academic publications and industry reports from the past five years, to examine semi-automated journalism in the AI era, with a focus on journalistic ethics. The review includes sources selected based on relevance, credibility, and contribution to the topic. The findings identify specific challenges such as the need for transparency in AI processes, potential biases in algorithmic decision-making, and the impact on journalistic integrity. While AI can improve efficiency, it falls short in content quality. It is crucial to train journalists for responsible AI use. Ethical principles should guide AI use in journalism to ensure the provision of quality and valuable information.
