Abstract

One of types of normal human emotion is being angry. Unadaptive anger is passive and aggressive, meanwhile, adaptive anger is assertive. Adolescent phase is critical phase in searching for self identity. Uncontrol anger in adolescent phase causes violent behavior and it has negative impact for the personnel, group, and environment. Moreover, this research aimed at identifying the influence of assertive training against the control of teenager’s anger at Junior High School in Surabaya, East Java-Indonesia. The researchers utilized queasy experiment method through pretest – posttest approach with control group by utilizing consecutive sampling technique. Meanwhile, data collection utilized questionnaire. There were two kinds of questionnaires which were used, which were for screening and for prepost-test. Assertive training aimed at improving teenager’s control while they were angry. Research result showed that the decrease of anger was significant between before and after being given assertive training (p < 0.05). The difference of anger score between in control group and in treatment group was significant (p = 0.05). However, assertive training could be used as alternative way in order to improve teenager’s control while they were in angry emotion rather than other therapies. Abstract

Young women are at risk of having anemia higher than young men because every month they had menstruation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of giving iron and vitamin C supplements to adolescent girls. This is a quantitative research with true experiment design. Research samples were young women who experienced mild-moderate anemia. The study begins with initial screening by measuring Hb levels. The selected samples were given iron supplements in the control group and given iron supplements plus vitamin C in the treatment group. In weeks I and II Fe tablets and vitamin C were given 1 tablet each. Week III, during menstruation the sample is given 1 tablet of Fe and vitamin C every day during menstruation. In week IV given 1 tablet of Fe and vitamin C.The results showed that there were differences in Hb levels in the groups given Fe and Fe tablets plus vitamin C with significance values α = 0.000 and α = 0.000. The average increase Hb in the group with Fe was 1.2 g / dL and in the group given Fe plus vitamin C it was 1.7 g / dL. The group that received Fe and vitamin C tablets was more effective than the group with Fe tablets only. Vitamin C can increase iron absorption when given during menstruation, so it can reduce anemia in young women Keywords: Iron supplements, Vitamin C, Anemia, Young women

Abstract

Public Speech and language skills are aspects related to the ability to respond the voice, speech, communicate following orders and smooth articulation, stimulation that can be given to the development of articulation and language of preschool age children is bibliotherapy. Bibliotherapy by using the book as a therapy to support the needs of children for development and personal experiences of preschoolers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of bibliotherapy on the development of articulation in pre school age children. The design of this study is quasi experimental research with nonequivalent control group pre-test design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with the minimum sample size of each experimental group and the control group is 20 respondents. Stimulation of this study was given for 3 days with a duration of 40 minutes using Denver Articulation Screening Exam. The result showed p value = 0.000 <α = 0.05 in the experimental group and the control group p value 0.743> α 0.005. Preschool-aged children that given bibliotherapy have a smooth alteration in articulation pronunciation because the fast mapping process that occurs in their brains, they will quickly absorb the meaning of the newly heard word once or twice, then they quickly make a hypothesis about the meaning of the word and store it in memory. Abstract

Cervical cancer is successfully treated when found early and followed by adequate treatment. Herein, the purpose of the research was to identify the risk of cervical cancer incidence using Ananto Sidohutomo’s questionnaire and Pap smear, which can detect the incidence of cervical cancer in female sex workers (FSW). The research used descriptive method with a sample of 30 female sex workers who checked their health atMawar Clinic. It was carried out from March to October 2015. The results show that all samples were included in the high risk category and the Pap smear result was negative for intraepithelial lesion or malignancy, which means abnormal cervical cells were not found, but Candida albicans, Bacterial Vaginosisis, and Cervixitis were found. Normal cells do not directly become cancerous cells, but first turn into abnormal cells. The change from normal to abnormal cells can be caused by exposure to germs, infections, fungi, and the like. It is suggested that preventive measures be taken to avoid cervical cancer by taking part in the screening program recommended for cervical cancer according to WHO. Abstract

Processing fish in order to be more lasting and be able to be still consumed by the people was needed good preservation. Fish could be lasting if the bacterial decomposition in the fish could be prevented. All this time, the people only used the waste of mussel shells for animal feed. Moreover, the mussel shells were not only used as animal feed, but also as additional material for concrete compound and natural preservation. Therefore, this research aimed at analyzing the use of mussel shells as natural preservation for swordfish. This research was experimental research with static group comparison design that aimed at knowing the use of mussel shell powder as natural preservation for swordfish. Organoleptic test conducted to the fresh fish, which included eyes, gill, mucus, meat, and smell. Time interaction and the concentration of mussel shell powder which was smeared on the swordfish gave significant influenced toward the number of total germ rate with determination coefficient (R2) was 99.8%. Besides, there was a difference of preservation of swordfish among 3:1 was the fish could be preserved until in 24 hours and the fish was able to be consumed and still in fresh condition with organoleptic value in average of 7.00, meanwhile, the fishes which were in the comparison between 1:1 and 2:1 were in rather spoiled condition. Furthermore, there was no significant difference of germ rate in swordfish after being smeared by mussel shell powder among 1:1, 2:1, and 3:1 in 12 hours, 24 hours, and 30 hours, in which the germ rate qualified the qualification. However, there was a significant difference when it was in 36 hours but the germ rate still did not qualify the qualification. Keywords: Swordfish, Mussel shell, Germ rate
