Abstract

This research was conducted in March 2024 through a search of the Google Scholar database with the title Educational Communication. Specifically, the maximum number of results was 500 articles as a sample, and the publication range was the last 10 years, starting from 2014-2024. Metadata retrieval using the Publish or Perish (PoP) application version 8.12 was then analyzed descriptively based on the year of publication, publication source, researcher productivity, and journal rank. To get an accurate map of research development, PoP data is exported to the PoPCites format, which will then be mapped simply using Excel and Result as RIS. PoPCites data is mapped by researchers, who are entered into the previously created table, and RIS data is analyzed using the VOSViewer (VV) application version 1.6.20. The results showed that the publication of research results on educational communication from 2014-2024 experienced fluctuations, and the largest source of publication was through e-journals, with as many as 406 articles. While the researchers published their research results 4 people, namely Rr. Tutik Sri Hariyati (4 articles), Ratih Kurniasari (15 articles), Hadi Pratomo (4 articles), and Heni Pujiastuti (6 articles). The VV visualization application shows that the development map of educational communication research consists of 5 clusters. Cluster 1 (5 items), cluster (3 item), cluster 3 (2 items), cluster 4 (2 items), and cluster 5 (2 items) with the most research including literature review, Indonesian systematic literature review, and systematic review.

Abstract

Thailand is the only Southeast Asian country that is highly progressive in advancing the legalization of same-sex marriage. This development has elicited responses from various segments of society, including Muslim students as part of the minority group. This study examines the perspectives of Muslim students in Bangkok on the increasingly prominent issue of same-sex marriage legalization in Thailand, focusing on their viewpoints, socio-religious aspects, and the influence on their attitudes. The research employs a descriptive quantitative method. Data were collected from 18 Muslim students at an Islamic-based public school in Bangkok using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire. The findings reveal that Islamic values serve as the primary foundation shaping the views and attitudes of Muslim students in rejecting the legalization of same-sex marriage. However, they also exhibit a tolerant attitude in their interactions with LGBTQ+ individuals or communities, reflecting a pluralistic stance as citizens of Bangkok. The implications of this study highlight the importance of Islamic education that integrates Islamic values with pluralism, enabling Muslim students to adapt to a diverse society. Additionally, it offers an academic contribution to the literature on the relationship between religion and pluralism in the context of religious minorities.

Abstract

The intricate relationship between science and religion has long been a provocative subject of discussion among scholars in higher education. In recent years, the pursuit of integrating these two seemingly disparate fields has emerged as a pivotal approach for universities aiming to evolve into more holistic institutions across diverse scientific disciplines. UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang in Indonesia and the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) are prominent examples of this integration paradigm. This research aims to explore how UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang and IIUM students perceive the interplay between science and religion, particularly in the context of their classroom experiences. Employing a quantitative methodology, this study utilizes a comparative descriptive approach alongside a case study strategy to gather insights. Findings from the research reveal a remarkable consensus among students from both universities. They overwhelmingly agree that a dialogical and integrative typology characterizes the relationship between science and religion. This shared perception underscores a mutual understanding of the relevance and interconnectedness between these two fields. Furthermore, students strongly affirm the effective incorporation of this integration within their classroom learning environments. Such a consensus not only recognizes the relationship but also suggests a positive influence on their educational experiences, reinforcing the idea that the synergy between science and religion can profoundly enrich academic pursuits.

Abstract

The inability to preserve the memorization of the Quran is a threat to the huffadz in pesantren. Variants of memorization methods do not guarantee the preservation of memorization in the long term. The historical roots that preserve the memorization of the Quran have been recorded since the 6th century, becoming a tradition in the 17th century in Malay culture, then growing within the scope of pesantren in the early 19th century until now. This research aims to analyze and answer the above problems entitled prototype of a’rif al-haqiqqah, al qira’ah bibath’, tashih al-qira’ah (called HBTQ). A comprehensive study was explored using a grounded theory strategy through the Charmaz constructivist approach to construct the HBTQ prototype as a strategy for preserving Quran memorization Ma’had Qur’an Putri Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Sukorejo. The research results show that this strategy ensures that every procedure is guaranteed accurate but sweetened with embedded transcendental factors such as setting targets, making a daily schedule, memorizing with tajwid-coded mushaf, having tashih al-tilawah friends, and forming habits al-qira’ah bibath’.
