Abstract

This research was conducted to extend the study of social trading using the behavioral finance perspective, the role of trust and a mixed-method approach from followers on social trading platforms. This research uses a mixed-method approach. In the first stage, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 11 follower traders by snowball sampling to find out the factors that influence traders' investment and trading behavior through social trading platforms. The second stage will quantitatively test the model using SmartPLS with 342 follower traders. Respondents in the second stage are followers of traders with real accounts on social trading platforms. Data was collected by accidental sampling using an online questionnaire distributed through forums and trader communities. The behavioral finance perspective is the basis of this research because empirical psychology can provide a good explanation when people are faced with uncertainty, which in this case is the uncertainty of trading results. Until now, research on social trading has mostly discussed about behavioral biases from the perspective of top leaders, not followers. Why people trust and mimic the behavior of traders through social trading platforms is an interesting question. Trust plays a vital role in the world of finance and technology, but very little research has addressed the role of trust in social trading. This research closes that gap by discussing the role of trust in social trading from a behavioral finance perspective. The results of this study conclude that Optimism, Herding, Stereotype bias, Confirmation bias, and Hot hand fallacy have a positive effect on trading decisions. Trust in trader leaders also strengthens the influence of optimism and stereotype bias on trading decisions.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between access to resources, subjective norms sociocultural forces; and the personal attitude of undergraduate agricultural students towards establishing a business. This relationship was looked at from a family-business status viewpoint. Data was collected from students of the six universities in South Africa registered for various agricultural programmes. Data analysis was computed using SPSS version 29. The study confirmed that subjective norms and sociocultural forces predict personal attitude towards starting a business, but not access to resources. The moderating role of family business status was not statistically significant for all factors. However, undergraduate agricultural students' access to resources and family business status relationships from families not owning a business were statistically significant. A significant relationship was also found between subjective norms and the family business status of agricultural students. The entrepreneurial syllabus should expose students to these extrinsic factors, as this shapes their attitude towards engaging in entrepreneurship. A positive personal attitude will likely lead to business establishment. Farming and entrepreneurship can address youth unemployment, employment creation, economic growth, and fighting poverty. Entrepreneurship is influenced by access to resources; however, agricultural students aren't finding it significant. Therefore, entrepreneurial education is essential for students to gain knowledge of this important business start-up factor.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of regional cultural dynamics on event engagement and revisit intentions in Indonesia, focusing on differences between Java and Non-Java regions. Using Multigroup Analysis in Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (MGA-PLS), the study compares how differences in regional culture affect consumer behavior, going beyond the usual focus on differences in race. Results indicate no significant differences in the influence of cultural dynamics on event engagement between these regions, highlighting a uniform effect of cultural factors on consumer behavior towards events. Mediation analysis shows that event engagement significantly mediates the relationships between cultural characteristics such as interpersonal communication, social hierarchy, collective decision-making, and revisit intentions. Furthermore, factors like individual autonomy and social rituals directly impact revisit intentions, emphasizing their crucial roles in shaping consumer decisions at events. These findings suggest that despite regional cultural nuances, their overall impact on consumer behavior remains consistent across different settings. This research provides valuable insights into the complex interplay between culture and consumer behavior in Indonesia’s diverse socio-cultural landscape, offering practical implications for event organizers to develop universally appealing yet culturally attuned engagement strategies.

Abstract

Introduction/Main Purpose: This research aims to examine the influence before and after the spin-off on the financial performance of PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas (TPK) Banjarmasin. Background of the problem: The reason a company implements a spin-off strategy is to prioritize activities that are appropriate to its field of operation, so that the company can concentrate more on appropriate business segments and is expected to improve the company's financial performance. In Indonesia, several companies are carrying out spin-offs as part of their strategy to improve long-term performance, one of the companies that is carrying out spin-offs is PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas. PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas-TPK Banjarmasin before 2022 will still be merged with PT Pelindo III Regional Kalimantan. After undergoing a spin-off process on February 1 2022, PT. Pelindo III Regional Kalimantan and PT. Pelindo Terminal Petikemas (TPK) Banjarmasin is no longer under one management. Research gap/Novelty: Previous research results are still inconsistent. PT Pelindo, which has just carried out a spin-off, needs to compare its financial performance before and after implementing this strategy. Further analysis of financial statements and financial ratios can provide an overview of the strategic impact of this spin-off on the company's financial health. Research methods: This research is descriptive qualitative research using financial report data and financial ratios as well as interviews with related parties. Findings/Results: Based on the analysis of the Current Ratio, Cash Ratio, and Debt to Equity Ratio, PT Pelindo's performance before the spin off was better. However, the results of the net profit margin analysis show an increase in operational efficiency and company cost management. Conclusions and implications: After carrying out the spin off, PT Pelindo must improve the company's financial performance so that it can reach industry standards. Abstract

A stable financial system is significant for an economy. Commercial banks play a critical role in facilitating the flow of credit and boosting the productivity of businesses through investment funding. In addition to receiving deposits, commercial banks provide loans to customers, exposing them to credit risk in the form of non-performing loans (NPL). This study aims to analyze the determinants of NPL and stress-test macro variables in the Indonesian banking system. The findings of this study, which used a data panel (Stata 17) and the Monte Carlo Stressing test of the Value at Risk (VAR) approach by studying a sample of 43 Commercial Banks listed on the IDX from 2008.1 to 2023.4, are significant. The main findings are Non-Performing Loan lag -1 (NPLt-1), Loan Deposit Ratio (LDR), Interest rate (SBI) and inflation (INF), and the significance of Non-Performing Loan (NPL). The results of the NPL Stress Scenario based on the VaR approach with interest rate and inflation shock carried out are still much lower than based on the provisions of Bank Indonesia Regulation Number 06/10/PBI/2004 concerning the Health Level Assessment System for Commercial Banks, the NPL ratio is 5 percent. It can be concluded that the NPL condition of commercial banks in Indonesia from 2008 to 2023 is still below the specified limit to face serious credit problems. These significant findings can engage and interest the audience, particularly those involved in the Indonesian banking system and macro prudential policies, and provide them with valuable insights. Abstract

Savings behavior among women entrepreneurs is a crucial factor in fostering financial independence and business sustainability. Therefore, this study examined the drivers of savings behavior among women entrepreneurs in Oyo State, Nigeria, Specifically, the influence of socio-economic variables, availability of financial services, and cultural and societal norms on the saving behavior of women entrepreneurs was investigated. Using a sample size of 240 respondents, data were collected through structured questionnaires and interviews, then analyzed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The results showed that socio-economic factors like age, education, income, and years of experience positively reinforce saving behavior, while larger household size negatively affects the ability to save. Besides, access to financial services-driven by proximity to institutions of finance, availability of financial products and interest rates, financial literacy programs, use of digital financial services-emerged as a critical driver of saving behavior. These results further indicated that savings decisions are highly influenced by cultural expectations, family influence, and religious belief, revealing that policy intervention in the financial inclusion of women as entrepreneurs must not just consider the economic factors but also the cultural and social contexts. The study further recommends the implementation of financial literacy programs for women entrepreneurs, the development of accessible financial products by institutions, and community-based initiatives for changing positive cultural narratives concerning women's financial independence.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of ethical marketing, social environment, and health consciousness on consumers’ purchasing decisions of beverages claimed to be “healthy.” Employing a quantitative approach with a purposive sample of 193 respondents, data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The findings show that social environment and health consciousness significantly influence purchase decisions, while ethical marketing does not have a direct impact. Furthermore, health consciousness does not moderate the relationship between ethical marketing or social environment and purchasing decisions. These results suggest that consumers are more strongly influenced by social factors and personal health awareness than by ethical marketing messages alone. The study’s contribution lies in its integrated model, which examines the combined and interactive effects of these variables—offering a more comprehensive understanding of consumer behavior in the growing health beverage sector. While previous research has considered these factors separately, this study highlights the relative strength of social and health-driven motivations and reveals the limited moderating role of health consciousness—an area often overlooked in existing literature. Practically, marketers should prioritize strategies that leverage peer influence and social media engagement while communicating clear health benefits to enhance brand appeal. Ethical marketing efforts may be more effective when embedded within socially resonant and health-oriented narratives. For policymakers, these findings underscore the importance of promoting public health awareness and ensuring transparent marketing practices. Overall, the study offers new insights relevant to both academic and industry efforts aimed at encouraging responsible and health-conscious consumer behavior.

Abstract

The toll payment system in Indonesia has evolved using e-money since 2017. However, increasing vehicle populations and economic activities have caused congestion at toll gates, resulting in economic losses of up to IDR 4.4 trillion annually. To address this, the government plans to implement Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF) technology, enabling transactions without stopping. The implementation requires thorough readiness, facing challenges such as recording accuracy between 80-99%, potential revenue loss for BUJT, regulatory uncertainties, delayed planning, and infrastructure needs. This study evaluates BUJT readiness using the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework, focusing on seven variables: Compatibility, Advantage, Complexity, Organization Readiness, Top Management Support, Government Support, and Vendor Quality. Using Partial Least Squares (PLS) and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), data from purposive sampling of BUJT were analyzed. Results show only Advantage significantly affects readiness (t=2.496; p=0.013), with an R² of 0.24 indicating weak predictive power. The study contributes to understanding factors influencing BUJT readiness and recommends enhancing government support, stakeholder coordination, and technical and organizational preparedness evaluation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Green Marketing Mix (Green Product, Green Price, Green Place, Green Promotion, Green People, Green Process, and Green Physical Evidence) on purchasing decisions for MSME products in Semarang City. The research method used is quantitative with purposive sampling and snowball sampling techniques, involving 100 respondents. The results showed that all elements of the green marketing mix have a positive and significant influence on purchasing decisions with green price, green promotion, and green physical evidence as the dominant factors. The originality of this research lies in the comprehensive analysis of the application of green marketing mix in the context of MSMEs in Semarang City, enriching insights into consumer behavior towards environmentally friendly products. The implications of this study encourage MSMEs to set competitive pricing strategies, increase green promotions through various media, and pay attention to aspects of physical evidence such as the use of recycled packaging and product appearance to attract consumers. Further research can be conducted by expanding the respondent segment or applying longitudinal methods to see changes in consumer preferences for green products over time.
