Abstract

This study reveals that the service quality at Dirasa Kopi has not fully met customer expectations, as indicated by negative GAP values across all SERVQUAL dimensions. Reliability shows the largest gap, followed by Responsiveness, reflecting a misalignment between promised and delivered services as well as limitations in staff speed and responsiveness. Through Quality Function Deployment (QFD), these findings were translated into improvement priorities, in which staff training was identified as the primary strategy due to its direct influence on service consistency and delivery speed. Expansion of seating areas and additional menu variations serve as supporting measures to enhance customer comfort and overall experience. Thus, the results obtained confirm that improving staff competency is the most determining factor in closing the service quality gap at Dirasa Kopi. The results of this study are expected to serve as managerial guidance for Dirasa Kopi in improving service quality, strengthening service performance, and ultimately enhancing its competitive advantage to remain sustainable and gain customer loyalty.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing customer satisfaction on TikTok Shop in Semarang, focusing on chatbot, content personalization, and usability. A quantitative survey of 125 TikTok Shop users was conducted and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The results show that chatbot, content personalization, and usability have positive and significant effects on customer satisfaction, with chatbot as the most influential factor, followed by content personalization and usabilit. These findings highlight the importance of optimizing AI-based features, particularly chatbot performance, to improve service quality and customer satisfaction in social commerce platforms, and support the applicability of the Theory of Planned Behavior in AI-driven digital marketing contexts.

Abstract

Development, previously oriented toward economic growth, has now shifted toward human development. The Human Development Index (HDI) is used as an indicator to measure human welfare through the dimensions of education, health, and purchasing power. This study aims to analyze the influence of government spending in the health sector, government spending in the education sector, and per capita expenditure on the HDI in South Sulawesi Province for the period 2009–2023. This study uses a quantitative approach with a panel data regression method. The study sample includes Makassar City, Palopo City, Parepare City, East Luwu Regency, and Enrekang Regency. Data were analyzed using EViews 12 software. The results of the study indicate that government spending in the health sector has a probability value of 0.0006 and per capita spending has a probability value of 0.0000, thus having a positive and significant effect on the HDI. Meanwhile, government spending in the education sector has a probability value of 0.1459, thus having a negative and insignificant effect on the HDI. This finding indicates that the increase in the allocation of education spending has not been followed by an increase in the quality of human development, which is thought to be caused by the dominance of employee spending in the education spending structure. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of shifting the focus of education spending from employee spending to more productive spending oriented towards improving the quality of education services in order to be able to encourage a sustainable increase in the HDI.

Abstract

Family-owned small and medium enterprises (SMEs) contribute significantly to economic growth; however, many encounter organizational difficulties as business activities become more complex while coordination remains informal and authority is concentrated at the top. This research focuses on Ragam Jaya Garment House, a family-run custom garment SME in Indonesia that has been operating for more than twenty years but continues to rely heavily on the owner for operational coordination and strategic decision-making. Employing an interpretive qualitative case study design, the study gathered data through semi-structured interviews, on-site observations, and reviews of internal operational records. The collected data were thematically analyzed and further evaluated using Porter’s Value Chain, the APQC Process Classification Framework, the RACI Matrix, and the Galbraith Star Model to reveal issues related to unclear role definitions, centralized decisions, unstable workflows, and coordination gaps throughout the order-to-delivery process. The findings show that operational inefficiencies are not driven by a lack of resources, but by undocumented workflows, unclear accountability, and excessive concentration of decision authority at the owner level, resulting in bottlenecks and elevated operational risk. To address these issues, the study proposes a simple functional organizational structure supported by clear decision rights and minimum process control mechanisms at critical handoff points. This design redistributes routine decisions to functional roles while retaining owner control over high-risk decisions, thereby improving coordination, reducing key-person dependency, and supporting long-term business sustainability and succession readiness.

Abstract

Energy resources play a crucial role in economic activities since nearly all human endeavors depend on energy sources like petroleum. This resource is essential for industrial, domestic, and transportation purposes. Problems emerge when some fuels receive subsidies while others do not. Nonetheless, the effect of the price disparity between subsidized and non-subsidized oil on the earnings of goods transport drivers remains ambiguous. This research intends to assess the impact of working hours, service pricing, and capital on the income of truck drivers in Manokwari Regency. This investigation employs a quantitative approach, drawing from both secondary and primary data, and utilizes multiple linear regression statistical methods for analysis. Findings from the multiple linear regression analysis indicate that working hours do not significantly influence truck driver income, whereas both service prices and capital do show a substantial impact on their income with p-value 0.003 and 0.072 consecutively. The analysis further reveals that, when considered together, working hours, service prices, and capital significantly affect the income of truck drivers at a 95% convidence level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategy for developing the competencies of SDM IPTEK at the BRIDA of Central Java Province. The research is motivated by the phenomenon of insufficient competency and shortage of personnel in several functional positions, which hampers the implementation of regional research and innovation programs. This study adopts a qualitative approach with a case study method, where data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving five key informants consisting of supervisors and staffs from the SDM IPTEK division of BRIDA Central Java. Data validity is ensured through triangulation techniques by cross-referencing the results of interviews, field observations, and internal document analysis. The research findings indicate that the competency development strategy at BRIDA Central Java is implemented based on Jack Gordon’s (1988) six competency indicators. This strategy produces fourteen competency development sub-themes in the form of technical dimensions, non-technical dimensions, mastery of hard skills, professional character building, role optimization, technical competence, work quality, self-integration, job satisfaction, work intellectuality, operational capacity, professional standards, work ethics, and work behavior. These findings confirm that the development of SDM IPTEK competencies at BRIDA Central Java is not only oriented toward increasing knowledge and skills, but also serves as a means of transforming attitudes and internalizing organizational values among employees.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how the aligment between professionalism and personal activities affects work commitment, while also testing the extent to which work motivastion plays a role as a link in this corellation among Gen Z employees who work part-time in the food and beverage sector, especially in coffe shop in the DIY region, Central Java. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire survey with a puposive sampling technique on 158 participants, after which is was analyzed through Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the help of SmartPLS 3 software. The research findings indicate that all hypotheses are accepted, namely work-life balance has a positive impact on work motivation and work commitment, with motivation as a partial mediator that strenghtens the corellation of harmony between work and personal life with commitment. Work motivation exhibits the strongest influence (path coefficient = 0,659). This study strengthens Boundary Theory through the finding that the harmony between professionalism and personal acts as a resource that drives intrinsic motivation and work commitment, especially in the context of part-time Gen Z employees in the food an beverage sector.
