Abstract

This study analyzes the level of concentration and market structure of the global nickel industry over the 2014–2023 period using a descriptive quantitative approach by calculating the Herfindahl–Hirschman Index (HHI) based on global nickel export and import data (HS 7501) sourced from TradeMap. The results indicate that the global nickel market exhibits an oligopolistic–oligopsonistic structure, characterized by the dominance of a small number of countries. The export HHI increased to 3,021 in 2023, while the import HHI reached 3,347 in the same year, confirming a strengthening concentration of market power on both the supply and demand sides. Indonesia’s dominance as the main supplier and China’s position as the largest consumer reinforce market centralization and increase the sensitivity of nickel trade to industrial policies and geopolitical dynamics. These findings are consistent with international trade theory, which emphasizes the role of market structure in shaping trade patterns of strategic commodities, and they support the Structure–Conduct–Performance (SCP) framework that explains the linkage between concentrated market structures and the strategic behavior of dominant actors. This study underscores the importance of supply diversification and strengthened international trade cooperation to mitigate dependency risks in the global nickel industry.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the implementation of the retail marketing mix enhances the marketing capabilities of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). In this study, marketing capabilities are operationally defined as MSMEs’ ability to implement marketing activities through retail mix elements, including product, price, place, promotion, service process, physical evidence, and marketing communication. This study was conducted at the Polbeng Business Expo Chapter II (2025) and focused on two MSMEs: Lapak TM Skuyy and Cemal Cemil JJ. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman qualitative analysis model. The findings show that product variety, affordable pricing, and strategic selling locations are the strongest indicators of marketing capability during the exhibition. However, promotion and marketing communication remain less optimized due to limited digital marketing skills and resources. Strengthening the integrated implementation of the retail marketing mix is essential to improving MSMEs’ marketing capabilities.

Abstract

Visitor satisfaction is a crucial indicator in maintaining the sustainability and competitiveness of a destination amidst the intense competition within the oceanarium industry in the Greater Jakarta area. The urgency of this study is driven by 2025 review data, which indicates that a leading marine educational tourism destination in Jakarta holds the lowest rating compared to its main competitors, suggesting a significant gap in visitor satisfaction. The primary issues identified include a decline in visual appeal due to poor aquarium cleanliness, poorly maintained facilities, and low service quality resulting from the presence of unauthorized third parties and less responsive staff. This study aims to empirically analyze the influence of attraction, facilities, and service quality on visitor satisfaction at the destination. Utilizing a quantitative method with a survey approach involving 173 respondents, the data were analyzed using the PLS-SEM technique via the SmartPLS 4.0 application. The results demonstrate that all three independent variables have a positive and significant effect on visitor satisfaction. The facility variable was identified as the most dominant factor in shaping satisfaction with a path coefficient of 0.494, followed by service quality (0.312) and attraction (0.215). Overall, this research model explains 93.4% of the fluctuations in visitor satisfaction. These findings provide practical contributions for the management to prioritize facility revitalization, enhance service standards through staff training, and improve aquarium cleanliness to create a more memorable tourism experience and increase visitor loyalty.

Abstract

This study utilizes the ResNet50 architecture with transfer learning techniques. The dataset consists of 5,200 facial images categorized into five classes: normal, dry, oily, combination, and sensitive. Data was split with an 80:10:10 ratio for training, validation, and testing. Data augmentation was applied to increase dataset variety. The recommendation system was developed using a content-based filtering approach with rule-based mapping between classification results and product attributes. The ResNet50 model achieved a classification accuracy of 90.4% on test data, with the highest F1-score for the oily class (94.7%) and the lowest for the sensitive class (86.9%). The recommendation system produced a Mean Reciprocal Rank (MRR) of 0.82 and precision@3 of 0.76. User satisfaction testing with 50 participants showed an 84% satisfaction rate. CNN with the ResNet50 architecture is effective for facial skin type classification with high accuracy. The integration of the classification system with content-based recommendation mechanisms successfully provides relevant skincare product recommendations. This system has the potential to become a digital tool that can enhance public skin health literacy and reduce errors in skincare product selection.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of communication, motivation, and work discipline on employee performance at Een Underwear Store. A quantitative approach with a causal associative design was employed. The entire population of 33 permanent employees was selected as the sample using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS version 25, applying validity and reliability tests, multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination. The findings reveal that communication and motivation have a positive and significant impact on employee performance, while work discipline exerts a significant but negative influence. Simultaneously, the three variables significantly affect performance. These results highlight the need for managerial strategies that go beyond rigid discipline by fostering effective communication and strong motivation as key drivers of employee productivity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of health facilities and infrastructure, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and examine the influence of facility and infrastructure management on service quality at the Anugerah Medical Center Metro Lampung Maternity and Child Hospital (RSIA). The study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation studies with purposively selected informants, including elements of management, health workers, administrative staff, and patients or patient families. Data validity was guaranteed through source and technical triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the management of facilities and infrastructure at the Anugerah Medical Center Metro Lampung Maternity and Child Hospital has been implemented systematically through the stages of planning, procurement, maintenance, and supervision and evaluation, although not yet fully optimal. The main supporting factors include the hospital management's commitment to improving service quality and patient safety, as well as internal policy support. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors are more technical and managerial in nature, such as the time-consuming procurement administration process, limited human resources specifically for facility maintenance, and suboptimal cross-unit coordination. The management of facilities and infrastructure has been shown to significantly impact service quality, particularly in terms of service effectiveness, patient comfort, and healthcare worker performance. The conclusion of this study indicates that the management of facilities and infrastructure is a crucial component in supporting the quality of healthcare services at the Anugerah Medical Center Metro Lampung Hospital. Therefore, it is recommended that the hospital strengthen short-term and long-term planning, optimize the integrated electronic inventory system, improve the competency of human resource facility managers, and strengthen cross-unit coordination and supervision to ensure the sustainability of the quality of maternal and child healthcare services.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of accreditation of the Zaenal Abidin Pagar Alam Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Way Kanan Regency on public image and trust, with service quality as a mediating variable. The background of this study is based on the phenomenon of a decrease in the number of outpatients and inpatients over the past six months even though the hospital has obtained Plenary accreditation. This study uses a quantitative approach with a causal research type. A sample of 100 respondents was obtained through accidental sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire, while data analysis used SmartPLS 3 through validity and reliability testing, as well as path analysis to determine direct and indirect effects.
