Abstract

One way to improve the lot and raise the dignity of women is through education. The first female Islamic education figure in Indonesia was Rahmah el-Yunusiyah, she was a figure of women's struggle during the physical revolution. He was born from a family with a strong religious education background. During childhood Rahmah el-Yunusiyah started school at the Diniyah School led by her brother, Zainuddin Labay, which was founded in 1915 for sons and daughters using modern learning systems and lessons. The role of Islamic education as one of the right ways to raise the degree of women has had since he was a teenager. Rahmah's belief in the role of education was realized with the establishment of the school under the name AL-Madrasah AL-Diniyyah Li Al-Banat in 1923 to attract the attention of the community especially mothers, intellectuals and groups who were very strong in holding old traditions, this newly founded school was also called Diniyyah School Poetri. Trinity education system, which is close cooperation between the school environment, dormitories, and households or the community.

Abstract

Islamic school as an institution that represents Islamic education in Indonesia has plurality values ​​that should be appreciated. Perspectives on islamic school which are synonymous with conservative ideology and tend to be considered rigid in the face of educational dynamics and the view that pesantren are an ancient institution and only think about the afterlife problems seem to be incorrectly addressed to this islamic school, islamic school As-Sunniyyah Islamic boarding school which is the object of research in this paper is portrait of a islamic school that has successfully organized independent education, including in developing curriculum and learning patterns. The integration between religious and general sciences is the key, in addition to extra activities that encourage students to have multiple talents. The purpose of this study include: 1) obtain information on what causes the development of curriculum in As Sunniyyah Islamic boarding school. 2) reveal the pattern of curriculum development in the As Sunniyyah islamic school.

Abstract

KH Hasyim Asy'ari is a scholar who was born from an elite family of kiai in the Jombang area, he had studied at various boarding schools in Java before continuing his education to the Hijaz land. Then he returned to Indonesia and established the Tebuireng Jombang boarding school which is famous for its hadith science. The depth of knowledge, and his thinking in education is very brilliant, so he got the title "Hadratus Shaykh" which means "Mr. Professor". Hasyim Asy'ari's thoughts in the field of Education are more viewed in terms of ethics in education. which relates to the principles of the implementation of education and psychology in the world of education which then gave birth to an effective personality for students and teaching. One of Hasyim Asy'ari's monumental works is the book entitled Adab al Alim wa al Muta'allim fima Yahtaj ilah al Muta'alim fi Ahuwal Ta'allum wama Yataqaff al Mu'allim fi Maqamat Ta'limih, In that book he summarizes his thoughts about Islamic education into eight points, namely: a) The virtue of knowledge and the importance of teaching and learning. b) Ethics that must be considered in teaching and learning, c) Ethics of a student to the teacher, d) Ethics of a student regarding lessons and things that must be guided by the teacher, e) Ethics that must be guided by a teacher, f) Ethics of the teacher when and will teach, g) The ethics of the teacher towards his students, h) The ethics of books, tools for getting lessons and things related to it. Furthermore, in the eight theories about education are summarized in thethree concepts first, the significance of education. second, the tasks and responsibilities of students. Third, the duties and responsibilities of the teacher.

Abstract

This article is a qualitative research research literature on hermeneutics in interpretation. This article was written to answer how hermeneutic approaches in the science of interpretation and hermeneutic perspective on the Qur'an. As a new methodology for the study of the holy book, the existence of hermeneutics is inevitable in the world of the Holy Qur'an. The mushrooming of a variety of contemporary interpretative literature that offers hermeneutics as a variable method of understanding the Koran shows how attractive the hermeneutic is indeed. Hassan Hanafi in his Religious Dialogue and Revolution states that Hermeneutics is not just a science of interpretation or theory of understanding, but also means a science that explains the acceptance of revelation from the word level to the world level. Knowledge of the process of revelation from letters to reality, from logos to praxis and also the transformation of revelation from the mind of God to human life

Abstract

Islam is a religion that has virtue values, which are rahmatan lil'alamin. In the designation as a universal religion, namely the teachings of Islam which is intended for all people, not related to place and time. This assures us that Islam and its teachings are a basic key in constructing the social life of society. Historically, Islam has had a major role in the progress of the world, including in the West. This paper discusses the forms of Islamic intellectual contributions and their thoughts on the progress of civilization in the Western World. The author uses the method of literature study to discuss and dissect more deeply the contribution of Islamic intellectuals to the progress of the West. The results obtained are, Islam contributes greatly to the advancement of Western civilization, which when the Western world experiences the formation of thought in the development of science and civilization, at that time Islam also experienced a glory period. This is what makes Western scientists flock to explore Islam deeper and apply it back to the West.

Abstract

The implementation of the Qira ah Muwaḥḥadah Method is expected to be able to form the reading of Al Qur an santri Madrasatul Qur an Tebuireng which were originally influenced by dialects from each region to be harmonious in accordance with the Qira ah standard taught by K.H.M. Yusuf Masyhar. Based on the background above, this thesis is focused on three aspects of description, namely: 1) learning planning of Qira ah Muwaḥḥadah in Islamic Boarding School Madrasatul Qur an Tebuireng 2) the learning process of Qira ah Muwaḥḥadah in Islamic Boarding School Madrasatul Qur an Tebuireng 3) evaluation of learning Qira ah Muwaḥḥadah at the Islamic Boarding School Madrasatul Qur an Tebuireng. This study states that the implementation of the Qira ah Muwaḥḥadah method includes: classical fas} ah} ah development, Al Qur'an payment, and Al Qur'an memorization. Evaluation of the learning of the Qur'an Qira ah Muwaḥḥadah carried out as a whole, both evaluations that are formal (the Qur'anic test) which is carried out every 6 months and evaluations relating to the learning process of the Qur'an Qira ah Muwaḥḥadah every month. The results of the Qira ah Muwaḥḥadah method at the Madrasatul Qur an Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School can form the Qur'anic readings of the students who were originally influenced by their respective regional dialects to be harmonious according to the Qira ah standard taught by K.H. M. Yusuf Masyhar, so that students of the Islamic Boarding School in Madrasatul Qur an Tebuireng can practice the reading of the Qur'an in their respective regions. Criteria for harmony in reading the Qur'an include: harmonious in the field of proficiency in saying makharijul h} uruf, harmonious in the practice of tajwid when reading the Qur'an and be harmonious in rhythm or song when chanting the verses of the Qur'an.

Abstract

Epistemology is basically a branch of philosophy that studies the roots of thought and basic concepts of submission. The concept has a paradigm that gives birth to an idea in the process of thinking. This shows that there is an epistemology used by classical commentators, Ibn Katsir in understanding and explaining verses of the Qur'an in a lengthy and broad manner. Because of this interpretation if examined and critically examined again will be found in a comprehensive direction of thought in interpreting the Qur'an. Therefore, this paper is here to express and map significantly the epistemology of Ibn Katsir thought in the interpretation process. Thus it can be concluded, the source of knowledge in the interpretation contains two broad classifications, namely: First. Tafsir Bil Ma’tsur. Secondly, Tafsir Al-Ra'yi. The interpretation of bil matsur is divided into four interpretations, namely, the interpretation of the Qur’an with the Qur’ran, the interpretation of the Qur’an with the Hadith, the interpretation of the Qur’an with friends, and the interpretation of the Qur’an with the opinion the tabi'in. while the interpretation of Al-Ra'yi as rational is supported by the science of the rules of language to reveal the meaning of sitematic ceremony. In short, the author will make a clear contribution on how the epistemology of the Qur'anic interpretation is carried out by Ibn Katsir.

Abstract

Various dynamics in leadership that occur in Indonesia, human characters that are very different from one another that happened before, it is important to discuss various examples in the story that Allah described in the Qur'an that can be read for example. In this study using the literature method. In this research, we can understand the figures that describe God in the Al-Qur’an who have religious characteristics and figures who have integrity. This can be seen in the story of Lukman al-Hakim with the verdict which has the story of ma'rifatullah (monotheism) which is illustrated in several verses in the Koran, where Lukman teaches children not to associate partners with Allah and worship only for Allah, therefore can help prayers in accordance with the commands of Allah SWT. Then take a human who has the character of integrity (honest) the writer takes on the story of the Prophet Yusuf AS illustrated in the Al-Qur’an where the compilation is slandered by Zulaikha but he is always honest and never succeeded, so that he was the Prophet Yusuf AS, can be chosen according desire because of the honesty he has.

Abstract

The oldest educational model in Indonesian islamic school, before the advent of formal education. Islamic boarding schools are representative of the needs of the community itself. Islamic school itself develops along with the development of the surrounding community with local wisdom (local genius). Therefore pesantren develops with their own uniqueness as a form of response to the fulfillment of the needs of Stakeholders.This study aims to reveal the development of the peculiarities of boarding school education, with research subjects Baitul Arqom Balung boarding school Jember. The focus of the research study is a) What is the caregiver's view of education in Islamic boarding schools ?, b) What are the caregiver's views on the development of science and technology, political demands and stakeholders, and c) What activities are carried out in developing the characteristics of the Islamic boarding school ?. The results of this study reveal: 1) That the caregiver's view of education in pesantren is: a) education in the pesantren must be open, b) Education in islamic school for all groups, c) Education dipesantren to think freely and remain spiritually islamic school, 2) view of caregivers Baitul Arqom Balung Jember boarding school on the development of science and technology, social and political changes anddemands stakeholder: that is positive and open by showing: a) Updates in terms of teaching and learning methods in pesantren, including the use of information technology access, b). Updates in terms of content of curriculum content. including teaching general science, especially technology, and c) Renewing pesantren as a center of communitydevelopment. Including equipping students with various scientific disciplines and skills in entering the modern world while still holding on to the spiritual demands, Islamic law and morals. 3) The form of educational activities developed as an effort to develop specialities in the Baitul Arqom Balung Jember Islamic boarding school, among others: a) Muadalah education activities, b) non-formal educational activities, for example: English language development, Arabic language development, scout activities, and activities other units

Abstract

Islamic educational institutions or islamic boarding school from the very beginning were founded with the principle of a reason approach rather than a hegemony of power and violence, in contrast to outside Islam which leads to spread based on linear fikiq law with just one legal view. Unlike the development of Islam or Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia through a more refined and high appreciation approach to education and Sufism, with that the Indonesian people of Java specifically can accept Islam with the principle of Sendiko Dawuh Gusti, to the Kings of Java at that time, and in line with the philosophy of Java that did not exist one that is contrary to Islam and answers the challenges of the times, discussion of the folklore of Javanese "angi met closed", "ngundungin ing pakerti", "becik ketitik olo ketoro", meaning that no philosophical value of Java is contrary to Islam, it is in common understanding, and therefore it is natural that the thinking and analogy of education and world development education is increasingly intensive in carrying out construcive education for advanced areas and multiple targets, in the scope of the reluctance of the missionaries or preachers of religion to be seen in the elite regions, now the area has become very relevant and in line with the resulting domino effect being more beneficial and comprehensive. From the reference of researchers, there have been many Muslim scholars and intellectuals broadcasting in the style of islamic boarding school, meaning each with a social approach that is not yet formal in the area of ​​Islamic educational institutions or pesantren. Then the need for strong figures in the economy and intellectuals to comb the elite region.
