Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, changes in the platform for expressing themselves through art performance are also faced by autistic individuals. This is certainly a challenge because music is a way that is used by autistic individuals to express themselves. Supporting by social media like YouTube; platform transformation brings ideas for art performance organizers so that autistic individuals can continue to perform, one of which is through the Autism Awareness Festival. Through computer-mediated communication models and diffusion of innovation theory, this study aims to dissect how the adaptation process that occurs in autistic individuals conveys self-expression through performance and digital art performance models in the form of virtual concerts, and how the concept of virtual art performance communicates the big message from the AAF. This study uses a qualitative method. Data collection techniques through FGDs were divided into two groups of AAF participants; and one group of participating parents. In-depth interviews were conducted with the organizers and accompanying teachers. The result shows that the concept of virtual concert can be applied to autistic individuals. The process that occurs in these conditions looks unique at the stages of the period in which there are adaptations and rejections. At the stage of the social system that must be targeted first are parents and aides; as a support system that becomes a bridge to explain a new concept. Autistic individuals have a very small and close environment, so input from parents and guardians is the most trusted source of information for them.

Abstract

#BlackLivesMatter is still used by netizens to express opinions about the Black Lives Matter movement which is still developing today. In April 2021, the court ruled for Derek Chauvin, the police officer who shot George Floyd. In addition, there are still many shootings of black citizens in the United States and various other countries. This study aims to determine the spread of #BlackLivesMastter and public opinion on Twitter during 20 – 27 April 2021 regarding Black Lives Matter. This research uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative method is used to see the distribution of 2,500 sample tweets using Netlytic.org and Gephi. The qualitative method is conducted to analyze public opinion about Black Lives Matter. The theory used is Computer-Mediated Communication, Public Space, and Critical Discourse Analysis. The results showed that opinions were dominated by positive opinions with 71.76%, negative opinions with 13.08% and irrelevant opinions with 15.16%. The positive opinions are dominant because they have succeeded in creating empathy, anger, and criticism, have political interests, and are voiced by political elite accounts, media, NGOs, and celebrities. Negative opinions are voiced by two main political elites and Twitter users who are not well known so they are considered personal opinions. Irrelevant opinions are voiced by Twitter users in more private spaces and are used to attract public attention.

Abstract

Hashtag mobilization has currently become one of the ways to mobilize opinion. As the 2024 presidential election draws nearer, hashtags which are considered effective to mobilize support for presidential candidates in 2024 have emerged and have been widely discussed on Twitter, using different hashtags, namely #2024AniesPresiden, #GanjarPresiden, and #PrabowoPresiden. This research uses Theory of Digital Movement of Opinion, a type of digital activism characterized by spontaneous and disorganized reactions from social media users on Twitter. This research aims to map those three hashtags: can different hashtags produce different mobilizations? The research method is descriptive and quantitative with social network analysis conducted by taking data from the three hashtags in the period from April 29, 2022 to May 12, 2022. This study found 235 accounts talking about #2024AniesPresiden, 22 accounts talking about #GanjarPresiden, and eight accounts talking about #PrabowoPresiden, where data was processed using NodeXL software. The base and its mappings are related to the diameter, density, and centrality (betweenness, closeness, and degree). The @SMILEINDO24 in the hashtag #2024AniesPresiden, the @ganjar_center in the hashtag #GanjarPresiden, and the @djagger17 in the hashtag #PrabowoPresiden are also found as the central or most influential actors in disseminating information and serving as a liaison. In contrast, the @AniesIndonesia in the hashtag #2024AniesPresiden, the @ganjar_center in the hashtag #GanjarPresiden, and the @prabowo in the hashtag #PrabowoPresiden are the critical actors in the formation of communication networks and information flow. The findings of this study have implications on dominant actors that can be used or exploited by policymakers so that these actors can influence public opinion and mobilize opinion movements.

Abstract

Social network analysis (SNA) has been widely used in epidemiology to understand how the structure of the relationship is formed in the odd-even policy implemented in the city of Bogor. SNA can also be an appropiate tool for mapping the effectiveness of a policy. The public policy implemented by the Mayor of Bogor regarding odd-even policy in Bogor shaped various responses from the community. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Odd-Even policy through Twitter’s hashtagh #GanjilGenapBogor. The theory used was media convergence theory, with the concept of User Generated Content (UGC). The method used was network analysis with a qualitative approach. The results indicated that the users of Twitter’s social media showed various responses to this issue. The responses formed various conversations among the users. From these conversations, the Popularity Centrality of the actors involved was formed. Each actor plays a role in the formation of public opinion. Actors who are involed in these conversations, played an important role in creating interrelated group communication networks. The exchange of information carried out by the main actors in the communication network aims to see how much influence is generated to the followers or members of the network created by the main actor. This circumstance brings up one dominant actor, which is called ‘opinion leader’. In addition, this response resulted in the emergence of news sentiments. Sentiments that appear in the public tend to be negative. These sentiments touched 55% of the total coverage on various news media platforms.

Abstract

The plan to move the capital city of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) from DKI Jakarta Province to East Kalimantan Province sparks pros and cons. Various comments appeared on social media. This study aims to: (1) find out the issues carried in the #IKNNusantara hashtag network; (2) categorize comments into negative, positive, and neutral sentiment categories; (3) find the structure and relationships of the actors in the network. The research methodology is quantitative research approach, the SNA (Social Network Analysis) method using NodeXL software and Sentiment Analysis using the online application Brand24.com on the hashtag #IKNNusantara on Twitter. The results of sentiment analysis show that the conversation is dominated by neutral sentiment. The total number of tweets up to February 16, 2022, was 255. SNA results show that the network density between actors in #IKNNusantara is still low at 0.23 percent. The network diameter describes the network pattern spreads and the cohesiveness between actors is low. The most influential actors based on the value of centrality are the accounts @jokowi and @ir with the highest in-degree values, which shows that a lot of talks are directed to this account. Accounts @d_n4bil5 and @newiding30 who have the highest out-degree are the most active in disseminating information. The @jokowi and @d_n4bil5 accounts serve as bridges because they have the highest betweenness value. Accounts @doddyjasmar and @royadam_lubis have the highest closeness values. Furthermore, the @d_n4bil5 and @langonlegend accounts with the highest eigenvector values are the actors with the most links to other actors. With this result, the government needs to continue to monitor the issue continuously and build awareness among netizens and the Indonesian people in general about the importance of IKN development. The use of social media focusing on delivering messages through the 7 (seven) most influential accounts above can have a significant impact. In terms of issue management, the government also needs to consider the most appropriate strategies to respond to issues according to the type of issue and the government's position on the issue.
