Abstract

The involvement of the father in carrying out his role in good parenting will have a good influence on the social development of children, including a sense of empathy. Good parenting by fathers has an impact on cognitive, academic, psychological-emotional abilities and children's interactions in their social environment. Empathy itself is a feeling that a person has to share what others feel, understand the thoughts of others and want to help others who need it. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method, which takes a predetermined sample of 38 fathers who have children aged 4-6 years. This study uses several instruments in its measurement, namely: the role of fathers (X), Inventory of Father Involvement (IFI) and Empathy for early childhood (Y). In the ANOVA table there is an F count of 6.075 > from 0.05. In the normality test, it was found that the Asymp sign (2-tailed) stated that the standard residual of 0.102 in the test spread was normal. The calculation of the means table also shows that the behavior of empathy in early childhood has a linear calculation with the parenting role of the father. Until the correlation test also shows that there is a significant correlation, namely r = 0.019 > 0.05. From several data tests that have been carried out, all of them state that the parenting role of the father has an influence on the child's empathetic behavior.

Abstract

The user of online games in this world has increased rapidly year by year. The last data has shown that there are 699 million active users around the world. Indonesia is become one of the most country who consumed the online game. This research aims to determine, how online games are played by the students, the causes of the students play the online games and the effect of the online game or MOBA game on the students’ listening comprehension as the main goal. This research used Mixed-method. The data is used questionnaire, listening test, interview, and documentation. 62 students have taken for the sample. Based on the research that has been done, the researcher can conclude that the online game gives the impact to the listening comprehension of the students at SMKN 6, Samarinda. It proved by the mean score pre-test and post-test in experimental group was 69.67 that increased into 84.03 after treatment. Therefore, the display data of sample T-test has shown that value sig. (2-talled) is 0.00 < 0.05 with the R square 0.76. It means there is significant influence of playing online game on the student’s listening skill of 76%.

Abstract

Reading speed is the solution to today's pressing challenge for students, who must complete more work or assignments in less time. Reading speed is becoming increasingly important as technology advances, causing readers to require a deeper understanding of the information provided. Furthermore, reading speed is combined with several techniques or strategies to help students read quickly with limited time. This study was conducted in Eight Semesters of the English Department. To find the result in this study, the researcher used interviews and documentation as instruments to collect the data. The subjects in this study are fourteen which are 13 students and one lecturer. The findings showed the students were had various types of reading strategies used in reading speed, and a student may use one or more of them. Skimming, scanning, and silent reading are the most common strategies they employ. However, in terms of reading speed, the students preferred silent reading. These techniques aid in their reading comprehension. In other words, the internal factors students’ equally contributed to the lecturers' problem during teaching reading lessons.

Abstract

Lectures become the center of learning who dominate the activities in traditional classrooms. Most of the learning time in the classroom is spent on lecturing than students' activities which causes a lack of motivation in learning. The study aims to: 1) increase activities of both the lecture and students by implementing Flipped Classroom; 2) to increase students' motivation by implementing Flipped Classroom; 3) to increase students' learning achievement by implementing Flipped Classroom. The study used a classroom action research methodology which consisted of 3 cycles. There were four stages in the research: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data of the study consisted of 1) activities data of both lecture and students through observation and documentation; 2) students' motivation data through online questionnaires on Google Form and observation; 3) learning achievement through an online quiz on Edmodo. At the end of Cycle III, it was found out that there was an increase in activities of both lecture and students, student motivation, and learning achievement by implementing Flipped Classroom.

Abstract

Various cities in Indonesia, Samarinda are one of the cities experiencing the impact of this pandemic. In education itself, the city of Samarinda has followed the government's direction since March 2020 to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by conducting learning from home (BDR) activities. The purpose of this study was to describe the information obtained regarding the effectiveness of implementing learning from home (BDR) activities for elementary school students in the city of Samarinda during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. This research will be conducted at SDN 012 Samarinda Ulu, Samarinda city in the even semester from April to July 2021. The subjects of this research are students of SDN 012 Samarinda Ulu who are the main informants. As a triangulation researcher added informants, namely class teachers and parents of students from SDN 012 Samarinda Ulu. To obtain the data that will be needed in this study, it is carried out by techniques, namely interviews and documentation. Activities in analyzing the data obtained are by means of data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing/verification. To test the validity of the data in this study, triagulation is used, namely source triagulation. The results of this study can be concluded that one form of preventing the spread of covid-19 is by conducting learning from home (BDR) activities, in Samarinda City itself, especially at the elementary school level, the process of implementing BDR is carried out online. The steps for implementing online BDR are started from the classroom teacher by asking the virtual attendance of students. After that, it was continued with the delivery of material, then giving assignments and collecting assignments from students. The dominant media used in online learning is mobile phones or smartphones. Furthermore, BDR constraints include student saturation, giving a lot of assignments, difficulty understanding the material and internet network disturbances.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the quality of school-based management and the revitalization of the principal's function on teacher competence in five private elementary schools throughout the city of Samarinda. This study uses a survey method with a causal quantitative approach (cause and effect). The population in this study amounted to 149 teachers with a sample of 109 teachers who were determined through a random probability sampling technique in five private primary schools accredited A, namely; SD Islam Aljawahir, SD Islam Fastabiqul Khairat, SD Kristen Sunodia, SD Katholik 3 W.R Soepratman, dan SD Budi Bakti. The data collection technique used a closed questionnaire which had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used descriptive inferential statistics, with simple and multiple linear regression which included partial test (T test), simultaneous test (F test) and calculation of the coefficient of determination (R2). The results showed that; (1) there is a significant influence on the quality of school-based management (X1) of 50.10% on teacher competence (Y), (2) there is a significant effect of revitalizing the function of principals (X2) of 62.00% on teacher competence (Y), and (3) there is a jointly significant effect between the quality of school-based management (X1) and the revitalization of the principal's function (X2) of 64.20% on teacher competence (Y).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kebijakan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam membuat 1) perencanaan pengembangan sarana prasarana, 2) pelaksanaan pengembangan sarana prasarana, 3) evaluasi pengembangan sarana prasarana, 4) hambatan dan solusi dalam pengembangan sarana prasarana. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) perencanaan pengembangan sarana prasarana dilakukan dengan menganalisis dan mengidentifikasi kebutuhan sarana prasarana, seleksi program kegiatan sarana prasarana, membuat draft anggaran sesuai dengan RKAS dan musyawarah dalam rapat bersama warga sekolah, (2) pelaksanaan pengembangan sarana prasarana yang dilakukan adalah dengan membentuk tim kegiatan, membuat kontrak kerja dengan pihak terkait, pengawasan dan pemeliharaan sarana prasarana sekolah, (3) evaluasi pengembangan sarana prasarana dilakukan dengan cara mengecek keterlaksanaan antara perencanaan dan pelaksanaan kegiatan sudah memenuhi standar minimal atau belum dan 4) hambatan dan solusi yang dialami kepala sekolah adalah melakukan menyesuaikan terlebih dahulu dengan jumlah dana yang ada, kemudian menentukan kebutuhan apa saja yang diperlukan bagi pengembangan sarana prasarana yang akan datang. Sampai saat ini, sekolah masih terus melakukan pengembangan sarana prasarana secara kontinyu karena tidak semua perencanaan dapat terealisasi dan hal tersebut dikarenakan sumber dana yang terbatas.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of principal leadership in planning the development of the quality of teacher resources at SMP Negeri 2 Sebulu Kutai Kartanegara. Related to the role of principal leadership in planning, implementing, evaluating planned programs in developing the quality of teacher resources. This research uses a qualitative approach with this type of research, namely a case study. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles & Huberman model, which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed: (1) planning for the development of the quality of teacher resources was carried out by deliberation in internal meetings; (2) the form of developing the quality of teacher resources, namely the implementation of workshops, training, seminars and advanced education levels; (3) evaluating by conducting academic supervision; (4) the role of the principal as: (a) educator; (b) managers; (c) administrator; (d) supervisors; (e) leader (f) innovator; and (g) motivators. Based on the results of interviews with three informants about the principal's leadership in planning the development of the quality of teacher resources, the principal as a leader has tried to carry out according to procedures in determining planning, namely by involving stakeholders in internal school meetings. In the implementation process, it is carried out in accordance with the procedure, all the steps taken by the principal and the teacher are to begin with the formation of a school development team, each school development team is given a mandate according to its capacity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Principal Supervision, School Organizational Culture and Teacher Self-Efficacy on Teacher Performance at SMK Negeri Tenggarong Kota. The population of this study was all teachers consisting of three different schools, namely SMKN 1, SMKN 2 and SMKN 3 Tenggarong with a total sample of 110 teachers who were taken using stratified proportional random sampling technique. The data collection technique was carried out using a questionnaire to obtain data on the supervision of the principal, school organizational culture, teacher self-efficacy and teacher performance. Data analysis with instrument validation of the four variables, namely using Pearson correlation and reliability using Cronbach alpha, while for the research approach using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that (1) the principal's supervision had a significant effect on teacher performance, which means that the higher the principal's supervision would lead to an increase in teacher performance (2) the school's organizational culture had a significant effect on teacher performance, which means that the better the school's organizational culture, the higher teacher performance (3) teacher self-efficacy has a significant effect on teacher performance, which means the better teacher self-efficacy will result in increased teacher performance (4) principal supervision, school organizational culture and teacher self-efficacy together have a significant effect on teacher performance. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the performance of State Vocational School teachers in Tenggarong City can be improved by the supervision of the principal, school organizational culture and teacher self-efficacy.

Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) planning, (2) implementation, and (3) evaluation of academic supervision in the implementation of the JSIT curriculum. The research was carried out at SMA IT Daarul Hikmah Bontang. The data collection techniques were through observation interviews and documentation techniques. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, and verification or concluding stages. The results showed that: (1) Planning for the supervision of SMA IT Daarul Hikmah Bontang in implementing the JSIT curriculum was based on the background, goals, and indicators of academic supervision success. (2) The implementation of the supervision of SMA IT Daarul Hikmah Bontang's implementation of the JSIT curriculum can be seen in the academic supervision instrument. There are indicators regarding the use of the INTEGRATED approach in teaching and learning activities to implement the JSIT curriculum. (3) The evaluation of the principal's academic supervision contained in the report on the results of academic supervision resulted in a follow-up program for teachers to increase knowledge and understanding of the JSIT curriculum
