Abstract

This paper aims to reveal the mistakes of micro Arabic in the aspects of Ilm Saut (phonology), Sharaf (morphology), Nahw (Syntax), and 'Ilm Dalalah (Semantics) in preaching materials conveyed by ustadz and ustadzah included in the groups of "Ustadz Sunnah" and "Islam itu Indah". Arabic mistakes are often made by ustadz and ustadzah who often appear on social media. In general, an ustadz must have good Arabic language skills. The vast emergence of ustadz and ustadzah on social media is allegedly not accompanied by their qualified mastery of the primary language used in Islamic teaching sources and primary books, namely Arabic. Hence, the researchers used micro linguistic theories comprising the studies of phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics therein. This study applied a descriptive-qualitative method. Researchers not only described the Arabic mistakes made by those of "Ustadz Sunnah” and "Islam itu Indah" but also provided corrections to such mistakes. In analyzing the data, the researchers used a separate analysis method. The findings demonstrated that those of "Ustaz Sunnah" and "Islam itu Indah” made mistakes in verbal Arabic at phonemic, morphemic, syntactic, and semantic levels.

Abstract

This study not only aims to discribe derivation of the word do’a, but also composition of do’a. For this purpose, researcher uses qualitative descriptive method with morphological analysis. The result shows that the word do’a in Surah al-Baqarah 186 is mentioned three times with derivation form: دعوة; gerund = praying, الداع; subject = prayer, dan دعا; past verb = prayed. In addition, there are two things in the composition of doa, namely istijabah (فليستجيبوا لي) = hard work and iman (وليؤمنوا بي) = confidence. So, whoever want to be responded by God, he must do both of those things. Indeed, since someone prayed to God, from that time God also began to respond to his do’a.

The three languages were used interchangeably according to the purpose of communication. Fusha Arabic, as the official and unifying language among Arabs, was rarely spoken. They preferred to choose Amiyah Arabic to communicate as a non-standard language variety. However, their Amiyah language was different from the Yemeni Arabs in general. This was due to their long-standing interactions with the local population. The unique thing was that even though they were of Arab descent, due to their high level of interactions with the local population, they often used non-formal Indonesian and Javanese Ngoko in their daily lives. So there were two varieties of diglossia in Embong Arab Community, namely high level language consisting of Fusha Arabic and formal Indonesian and low level language consisting of Amiyah Arabic, non-formal Indonesian and Javanese Ngoko).

Abstract

One of the constraints of students in learning Arabic is the lack of vocabulary. Students who have vocabulary memorization will be faster in learning Arabic lessons. One model of learning in teaching vocabulary is to use the word guessing model. The media used in studying mufradat/vocabulary should be easy, interesting and efficient to use. Educators are asked to be creative in presenting the media used by students. Crossword software is an application that can be used in making vocabulary learning media. This application can help educators in making crossword puzzles and guess words automatically, so the making of media for vocabulary teaching does not take too long and think hard because it is made manually. This application can automatically compile words that match the questions and answers provided by educators. Cross-sectional media or guess words, not only can be used when Arabic lessons take place in class but can be done independently by students. For educators making variations in presenting the form of questions is something that must be considered, so that students become interested and feel happy to use this media.

Abstract

This article studies about aspects of al-iltifat al-mu’jami as one style of language in the Qur'an.  This study aims to reveal the secrets of meaning behind the use of two synonymous words interchangeably in one or more plots of speech. This type of research is a library research with an interdisciplinary approach. In data analysis using content analysis by examining the basic meaning of words that experience al-iltifat, then confirms the meaning through balaghah, syntactic, morphological, and semantic analysis. The results of the research show that there are two different styles of al-iltifat al-mu’jami in the Qur'an, namely: first, the transition of the use of a word to another word that is synonymous in a verse or series of verses in a plot of speech; and second, is the use of two words that are synonymous in a separate surahs in the same speech theme. The transitional use of the word among others is aimed at emphasizing a concept, emphasizing the difference in quality and quantity of something, affirming the nature to be highlighted, expanding the concept being talked, or perfecting the concept that is the theme of the speech. The benefits of studying about al-iltifat al-mu'jami are helping to understand the message of the Qur'an, dismissing the assumptions of the language of the Qur'an, understanding the other side of the miracles of the Qur'an, helping in carrying out a mindfulness towards the Qur'an, and developing insights on various approaches that can be used in developing Qur'anic studies from the linguistic side.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to design the holistic evaluation in teaching reading. Assessment plays an important role in education process. Good evaluation is essential for good education and good learning. The evaluation of reading material is able to depict the faults and advantages of a reading instruction program. Also, students are able to know the level of their ability and absorption of reading materials from the assessment. The research method used is the library method. Assessment is an important part of teaching reading. So far, there are still found some designs of reading assessment which are not integrated and comprehensive, identical to the theory of reading comprehension including literal reading, interpretive reading, critical reading, and creative reading. As a result of this research, the design of the reading assessment is based upon the teaching and learning process (the daily calendar) or the so-called formative evaluation and an evaluation that is based at the end of the lecture in the form of midterm exams and final exams, or what is called a final evaluation. The evaluation design has two types comprising the practice evaluation and the written evaluation.
