The problem of the research is formulated “Is there any significant differences between students who are taught by using Talking Chips Technique and students who are taught by using Conventional Technique in teaching speaking to the eleventh grade students of SMK. Moreover, the objective of this study was to know whether or not there is significant difference between students who are taught by using Talking Chips Technique and the students who are taught by using Conventional Technique in teaching speaking to the eleventh grade students of SMK . This research was quantitative research, using experimental method and true experimental design. Then, the population of the study covered the entire of eleventh grade students of SMK in academic year 2016/2017 with total students were 318 from ten classes. And the sample of the study were 62 students, consist of two groups, namely experimental group (XI.9) consist of 31 students and control group (XI.10) consist of 31 students which is choosen by cluster random sampling. In this study, the writer used speaking test as an instrument for collecting the data. The data obtained from Independent t-test analysis, between the result of posttest in experimental group and control group. Based on the calculation by using Independent t-test, the writer found that t obtained was higher than t table (2,62 > 2,000) at the significant level α = 0.05 in two tailed testing. It means that there was any significant differences between experimental group and control group. So, the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. The problem of this research was to find out whether or not there was any significant difference between the students who are taught using humanizing the classroom method and those who are taught using conventional method. And the methodology of the research used experimental method, by quasi-design. Meanwhile, the population was the tenth-grade students of MA NU Sumber Agung OKU Timur, Sumatera Selatan. It consists of 60 students, used purposive sampling technique. And there were 42 students as a sample of this research. In collecting the data, the researchers used the written test as the instrument to obtain the students' ability in writing descriptive text. And for analyzing the data using independent t-test. The data distribution was considered normal. It was proved by statistics calculation of normality test which shows that < or 9,72 < 11,07 in experimental class and < or 2,99 < 11,07 in control class. Then, based on the calculation of homogeneity test the data variant was homogeneous. It was found that F-obt > F- table (157 > 2.08). Meanwhile based on the result of the statistics calculation using independent t-test found that t-out = 7.69, it was higher than t-table = 2.02. it meant that there was any significant difference between the students who are taught using humanizing the classroom method and those who are taught using conventional method.

This study was conducted to find out whether or not: (1) there was a significant difference in narrative reading comprehension achievement of the eighth grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Palembang before and after they were taught by using REAP strategy, (2) there was a significant difference in reading comprehension achievement on narrative text between the eighth grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Palembang who were taught by using REAP strategy and those who were not. The population of the study was the eighth-grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Palembang in the academic year 2015/2016 consisting of 240 students. To collect the data and to measure students' reading comprehension achievement, the reading comprehension test was given. The test was administered twice as a pretest and posttest. The result from paired sample t-test showed that t-obtained was higher than t-table (11.604>2.0301) at the significance level of p<0.05. It means that H01 was rejected and there was a significant difference in students’ reading comprehension achievement of experimental group. The result from independent sample t-test of the post-test in both experimental and control groups showed that there was a significant difference at the significance level of p<0.05 and t-obtained was higher than t-table (2.029>1.9955). Therefore, there was a significant difference in reading comprehension achievement between the students who were taught by using REAP strategy and those who were not.
