Abstract

The research carried out aims to determine the feasibility, practicality and effectiveness of the Gunung Kidul beach-based Discovery Learning module, on biodiversity material in increasing high school students' interest and independence in learning. The research carried out is a type of development research using the ADDIE model which consists of several stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The product produced in this research is a biology learning module on biodiversity material which is integrated with the Gunung Kidul beach-based Discovery Learning learning model. The learning module developed was validated by expert validators and practitioners, then tested for effectiveness on class X students of SMA N 1 Depok Sleman using the non-equivalent pre-test, post-test control group design technique. Data collection was carried out using direct interview techniques with biology teachers and distribution of student needs analysis questionnaires, assessment of material experts, media experts, learning experts, teacher and student practicality, student learning interest questionnaires, and student learning independence questionnaires. Data analysis uses non-parametric statistical test techniques with the Mann-Withney model, parametric statistical tests with the independent sample t test model and N-gain score. Gunung Kidul beach-based discovery learning learning modules on biodiversity material are feasible, and can be practically used in learning activities and are effectively used in increasing high school students' interest and independence in learning

Abstract

This study tested the effectiveness of PjBL-STEM learning model jigsaw strategy on creative thinking skills and creativity of grade X students on biotechnology vertical hydroponic farming material. The research method used was quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group design, which was conducted in Class X SMAN 1 Ciracap in Sukabumi Regency as many as 60 students consisting of 30 experimental class students and 30 control class students. Data collection was conducted using initial and final tests for creative thinking skills and observation sheets for student creativity and student response questionnaires to the PjBL-STEM Jigsaw strategy model. Quantitative data from the study were analyzed using SPSS-25 and qualitative data were processed using descriptive analysis. The experimental class received PjBL-STEM learning treatment with jigsaw strategy, while the control class used PjBL. For the first time learning model applied in class X, PjBL-STEM jigsaw strategy is effective in improving students' creative thinking skills and creativity. The prominent creative thinking skills are shown in the fluency and originality indicators. Based on the observation, the implementation of the PjBL-STEM model of jigsaw strategy directs students to the steps of inquiry, engineering design, production process, and communication much better than PjBL.

Abstract

The context in science learning needs to be linked contextually and be interdisciplinary so that learning becomes more meaningful. This research aims to analyze the local wisdom of the people of Magelang Regency in making pottery as a science learning resource containing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) on temperature and heat. The subjects of this study were pottery artisans in Kragilan, Donorojo, Mertoyudan, Magelang, Central Java. The research design used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in literature and field studies (interviews and documentation). The data in the research is qualitative, namely the results of interviews and identification of local wisdom in making pottery in Magelang Regency, which can be used as a science learning resource with STEM content. In addition, qualitative data analyses local wisdom in making pottery in science learning resources with STEM content on science material. This research shows that local wisdom in making Magelang pottery, especially roof tiles and braziers, is appropriate to the science learning context. The process of making pottery can be internalized in science learning as a science learning resource containing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) for teaching Temperature and Heat material.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the literature related to the application of self-assessment in improving character quality, 21st century abilities, and physics learning outcomes. The method used is library research or literature study by collecting international and national articles over a 10 year range (2013-2022). This research begins by analyzing appropriate assessment in 21st century education and its real application in the education sector. The research results show that the implementation of self-assessment is not yet comprehensive in every school and level of education. High school in grade X is a school that often implements self-assessment in learning physics. However, self-assessment does not only play a role in improving physics learning outcomes, but also improving the quality of student character, Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), scientific attitudes, knowledge and (intellectual) skills, student attitudes, critical thinking skills in scientific literacy, TPACK for prospective physics teachers, students' scientific literacy, students, honest attitude, responsible attitude, and student cooperation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve students' Mental Models and Mental Modelling Ability in the context of electrical circuits by using the House Installation Model as a laboratory learning instrument. The problem-solving-based laboratory learning model was applied in this research. The research method utilized a descriptive qualitative research design with a pretest-posttest design. The research results showed that 75% of students experienced Mental Models improvement in the context of electrical circuits, with 15% reaching level 2 and 60% reaching level 3. The improvement in Mental Modelling Ability was also significant, with 80% of students experiencing improvement, 21.7% reaching a moderate level, and 58.7% reaching a high level of Mental Modelling Ability. These results suggest that problem-solving-based practice learning models can effectively improve students'  Mental Models and Mental Modelling Ability in the context of electrical circuits.

Abstract

One of the four nutritional problems in Indonesia is Iodine Deficiency. Iodine deficiency is a set of symptoms that occur due to continuous lack of element Iodine and long period of time. Iodine is needed by everyone, especially during the growth period. Iodine deficiency will cause impaired physical growth and low intelligence the quality of human resources is getting worse. This study aims to analyze the behavior of mothers under five towards Iodine Deficiency Disorders. This Research There are three data collection methods that are often used in qualitative research, namely: 1) participatory observation 2) in-depth interviews and 3) focus group discussions. That The population is a survey of 30 housewives who were interviewed, 25 of whom did not understand GAKI and did not understand the benefits of iodized salt. They taken by propositional stratified random sampling. Data collection is done in the form interview, observation and salt test. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that of the 30 housewives who were respondents, 30 of them had insufficient knowledge of IDD.

Abstract

This article reported design of FBG Sensor layered by 2D Graphene Material. In this research, the FBG was coated with single layer graphene material, then the outher FBG has been coated with Aluminium, Chromium Oxide, PMMA, and Silica. The finite element method was used to analyze the profile  of each coated-FBG with a thickness of 20 µm. Furthermore, the sensitivity of each designed coated-FBGs for the temperature measurement was calculated in the range of 25 oC – 300 oC. Design and analysis of coated FBG found that the FBG coated with graphene then layered by PMMA material has the highest sensitivity of 406.4 pm/℃. Although the sensitivity was 395.73pm/℃ for PMMA material. It was followed by Aluminium coating material which yields the sensitivity of 71.367pm/℃. The Silica and Chromium oxide yield the same sensitivity of 13.73pm/℃. Furthermore, the simulation results shows that the design of coated FBGs with a Gaussian apodization has the narrowest FWHM width of 1.3 nm. While the Tanh and Uniform apodization yield FWHM width of 3.724 nm and 3.732 nm respectively. Certainly, the best FBG design for high temperature sensor was proposed by FBGs coated by graphene and layered with PMMA material with Gaussian apodization
