Abstract

This study aims to: (1) determine the level of understanding of STKIP Weetebula students on RPP components, and (2) the ability of STKIP Weetebula students in preparing lesson plans. This research was conducted in Sumba Barat Daya District, East Nusa Tenggara. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research subjects were taken by purposive random sampling technique, as many as 40 people from 130 students spread over 4 study programs. Data collection uses an open questionnaire instrument and RPP format equipped with SK and KD according to the sub-field of research. The conclusion of the results of this study is first, students' understanding of the Learning Implementation Plan or RPP component is basically good, but in practice, students need to be trained to implement RPP. In addition, students 'understanding of the learning model needs to be improved, this is in line with the results of the students' work in preparing the student lesson plans, not paying enough attention to the model steps. Second, the ability to prepare lesson plans. Students in preparing lesson plans are generally good. The weakness of the student lies in the ability to describe KD in the form of indicators not yet answering the minimum KD standards, learning objectives have not shown goals that can be measured and achieved, to differentiate indicators from objectives, students only add student subjects, and use the same operational verbs for all purposes learning no mention of the forms of apperception activities carried out. At the core activities, the learning steps are not in accordance with the stages of the learning model, and in the final activity there is no explanation of the direct or indirect benefits of the material being taugh. Keywords: Student understanding, Learning Implementation Plan

Abstract

Learning must be focus on creating conceptual change in students. One of the alternatives is using CCM-CCA-based learning devices because CCM-CCA is a learning model that can create cognitive conflict as a condition for conceptual change. This research is directed to develop learning devices based on CCM-CCA that can improve conceptual understanding. The learning devices developed to consist of LEU (Learning Events Units) and SW (Students’ Worksheet) for Newton's Law material about motion and work-energy. The results of the validation of learning devices (LEU and SW validation) indicate that these devices are valid in content and construction so that they are suitable for the learning process. Based on the results of the implementation of the device and the test results, it was concluded that the CCM-CCA-based learning device was able to improve conceptual understanding. The increase was obtained through an N-Gain analysis with an N-Gain value for LEU of 60.44% and SW of 54.01%. The percentage of the N-Gain score is included in the increase with the medium category.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive electronic student worksheet (eLKS) on electromagnetic induction material with a scientific approach using 3D PageFlip, Camtasia Studio 8, and Adobe Flash Professional CS6. The research design used is a research & development design with instructional design procedures that refer to the ADDIE stage as a fundamental process in developing learning resources. The revision process is carried out through formative revisions based on data obtained from an individual, small group, and field trials. The results of the validator assessment of the validity of electronic student worksheet products were analyzed with the Cohen's Kappa formula and obtained k = 1.00 (valid) for the material and k = 0.89 (valid) for the media. The results of the implementation to 177 students and Level 1 evaluations showed that students had a good perception of the content and the media of eLKS. They also perceive that they are involved or participate in learning using eLKS. Level 2 evaluation results that use the independent-sample t-test method to compare the average scores of students who learn using eLKS and who don't use eLKS, show that there are significant score differences for learning with eLKS (M = 73.87, SD = 22.56) and learning does not use eLKS (M = 27.73, SD = 15.51); t (54) = 10.51, p = 0.00 (two-tailed). The difference in the mean value of 46 (95% confidence level) is large (eta squared = 0.58).

Abstract

Students must be able to think at a high level in order to meet the requirements of the 21st century, including the ability to think critically. The mastery of student concepts about a material being studied influences the ability to think critically. The thing to remember is that all forms of critical thinking would not be possible without the main component of mastery of concepts. The purpose of this study is to describe the ability of critical thinking and mastery of the basic concepts of science among SMPN students in Central Lombok Regency. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive research with survey methods. Critical thinking tests and mastery of concepts by students using multiple choice instruments. The results showed that the average results: a) The critical thinking skills of nine high school students in Central Lombok were 71.69% with high criteria. The second critical thinking indicator, which provides further explanation, achieves the highest score in comparison with other indicators. b) Control of the basic concepts of natural sciences students with 76.20% with high criteria. The first indicator for controlling the concept is remembering who scores the highest score compared to other indicators
