Abstract

This study aims to develop learning devices, especially in the evaluation section of science learning in junior high school, which in turn after being implemented in the classroom is expected to develop 21st century skills of students. In particular, this study aims to, 1) identify science learning evaluation tools made by teachers so that they obtain a clear picture of the profile of the evaluation tool, 2) develop a junior high school science learning evaluation tool that supports 21st century skills. This research includes development research in four stages, namely: decide, design, develop, and evaluate. The results of this study indicate that the tools developed by the teacher are in complete category, the learning objectives are clear, although the stages in part still need to be improved. Learning evaluation instruments developed by the teacher have met the principles of assessment, the presentation is in accordance with the curriculum, the sentence in the question is quite communicative, uses good and correct language and does not cause multiple interpretations. However, the majority of questions made by teachers still measure low-level thinking skills. This is because teachers have not been trained in developing questions that measure high-level thinking skills. An evaluation tool that was then developed together with the teacher was intended to perfect the shortcomings of the previous evaluation toolKeywords: 21st Century Skills, Learning Evaluation Tools, Middle School Science

Abstract

Abstract: The Scented volatile compound has a huge market as its wide applications in daily life. The extraction of this compound from natural resources produces a very low rendement. Microbes synthesize secondary metabolit might resemble of their host have been explored from scented natural resources (flowers: Damask rose, Jasminum sambac and Plumeria acutifolia); cymbopogon, muntinga calabura L and leave of Panadus amaryllis).  It was found 12 bacterial and 14 fungal scented isolates that were various in terms of scent types and intensities. They were bread starters like the smell, alcohol like the smell, sweet sugar like the smell, salaka like the smell and fresh sugarcane juice like smell. Several isolates emit original host like the smell in very low intensities. Persistency scent test showed that the scents were persistently emitted when cultured on PDA medium.  Key Words: Scented volatile; Damask rose; microba; exsplorasi

Abstract

Abstract: Teaching is a teacher’s daily job. Nevertheless, it turns out that teaching students about how they should study is not easy. This research is included as Research and Development—also known as RnD—which aims to give an actual example of how to teach and to floating and drowned concept in a simple way through Curriculum 2013. The result of the research, which is a student-oriented learning design and learning structure which in turn is an implementation of scientific approach, is the output resulted from a long term study, development and experience obtained by the writer team through teaching and training a number of supervisors, school principals, and teachers in various areas of Indonesia. The responses for this teaching model obtained from the teachers have been very positive, whereby 95% of teachers claimed that they are very interested in the design, and only 5% claimed that they are mildly interested. This thus indicates that this teaching model can become a model to be referred to in teaching using a scientific approach in Curriculum 2013. Keywords: Student Oriented Model, Floating and Drowned
