Abstract

Children's numerical literacy skills have not developed optimally. This can be seen in learning, where although children can mention numbers 1 to 20, they still have difficulty recognizing number symbols and matching the number with the number symbol. This condition is caused by the lack of use of technology-based learning media specifically designed for children. This research aims to develop QR Code-based smart box media to improve early childhood numerical literacy skills. This research method uses the Research and Development model from Borg and Gall. Validation was carried out by 3 experts, the test subjects were Pertiwi 1 Padang kindergarten students. Data collection techniques using interviews, questionnaires, and observation sheets. Data analysis was carried out validity analysis, practicality analysis, and effectiveness test analysis using SPSS V. 25. Based on the results of the analysis, the QR Code-based smart box media has 96% instrument validation test results, 90% media validation test and 92% material validation test with very valid eligibility criteria. Based on the calculation of the N-Gain test results of 0.52, meaning that the development of QR Code-based smart box media to improve early childhood numerical literacy skills is in the medium category. Furthermore, a paired sample t-test was conducted with the results of sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05 with α = 0.05 which means that there is a difference in the average value between the pretest and posttest scores of numerical literacy skills in early childhood. It can be concluded that the development of QR Code-based smart box media is effective for significantly improving the numerical literacy skills of early childhood in kindergarten.

Abstract

Social changes and technological developments in the modern era have had a significant impact on adolescent behavior, including in the sexual aspect. Sex education is one of the strategic efforts to prevent free sex, which has the potential to cause various risks such as unwanted pregnancy, the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, and mental health disorders. This study aims to examine the role of sex education in preventing free sex in adolescents in the Modern Era. The type of research used was a literature review, with the collection of articles from two main sources, namely Google Scholar and Garuda. Inclusion criteria applied included articles published between 2019 and 2024, in Indonesian or English, and articles available in open access or full text format. Based on the analysis of articles that meet these criteria, it shows that sex education carried out comprehensively through schools, families, and communities can improve adolescents' understanding of body boundaries, reproductive health, and the consequences of unhealthy sexual behavior. However, the main obstacles such as cultural inappropriates, lack of parental literacy, and the negative influence of digital media are still a challenge in its implementation. The conclusion of this study confirms the importance of multi-stakeholder cooperation in designing sex education programs that are relevant and based on moral and religious values. The development of digital-based education technology is also an opportunity to reach adolescents in various layers of society.

Abstract

Flood disaster risk reduction in Indonesia still focuses on structural measures with limited research examining community adaptation models. Adaptation models play an important role in planning future disaster mitigation actions. This study aims to determine the response and adaptation model in managing flood disasters by the people of Kampar Regency. Data collection was done by interviews, questionnaires on physical adaptation and social adaptation and questionnaires then FGD (Focus Group Discussion) and analyzed with AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process). The results show that the level of flood vulnerability from the analysis of the flood vulnerability map in Kampar Regency shows that most of its areas are in the flood-prone category, Land characteristics at four sample points in Kampar Regency show significant variations. As seen in the flood vulnerability map, there are land characteristics of high hazard zones, land characteristics of medium flood hazard zones, land characteristics of low flood hazard zones and flood-free flood hazard zones, and formulating an Adaptation Model using the AHP approach through Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The results of the analysis show a pairwise priority value for land characteristics (0.03), and the level of flood vulnerability (0.03). The weight of the criteria shows land characteristics (0.105) and the level of flood vulnerability (0.258). Indicates the highest alternative is to assess the ability of the soil to absorb water. This alternative can reduce the risk of flood disaster in the study area. These findings indicate the need for special attention to flood-prone areas in Kampar Regency, Riau Province.

Abstract

This research highlights the potential of anionic polyacrylamide as a main treatment agent for liquid waste from educational laboratories, particularly in the removal of copper ions. This study using experiment with varies the concentration of anionic polyacrylamide with 3, 5, and 7% weight per weight. The initial concentration of copper in liquid waste was very high ranging between 600 mg/L. The findings indicate that the application of anionic polyacrylamide in wastewater treatment significantly reduces the concentration of copper ions, especially in wastewater from educational laboratories. Specifically, anionic polyacrylamide, at a concentration of 3% w/w, effectively removed almost all copper ions from the wastewater found in analytical chemistry laboratory and also achieved the quality standard of treated wastewater for copper parameter. The pH of the treated wastewater is critical in determining the overall effectiveness of the treatment, with a higher pH resulting in more effective coagulation of copper ions. The effectiveness of the treatment is influenced by the pH of the wastewater and the concentration of the polyacrylamide used. Further studies are needed on other types of heavy metals that can be coagulated using this method in order to gain a more comprehensive understanding.
