Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the ability of teachers in identifying, integrating and evaluating the implementation of character education in teaching and learning activities. This research uses a single case, so that the relevant research strategy is a case study. Data gathering techniques using the technique of nontes (now, observation, interviews, and documents). To check the validity of the data used triangulation of methods and sources. The results obtained from this research, the cultivation of the values of character education in social science subjects which is conducted by the teacher to the learner is found almost balanced between frequent and sometimes embed. This is shown by the percentage of students who said that teachers often impart the character values in the form of granting or giving examples of the Queen to learners as much as 43%, sometimes there are also teachers who instilled the values of character with insert to content learning is evidenced by the 45% of students says sometimes teachers inculcate character to students, 10% of the students said the teacher always instill the value of character, 2% of students said the teacher never imparts character values. Based on the results obtained in this study, it can be concluded that the cultivation of the values character education can be integrated through the study of subjects social science in particular history in Senior High School 3 Semarang

Abstract

The objective of research was to find out: 1) the effect of GI and TGT learning method types on the student’s critical thinking in history learning in Public Senior High Schools in Pati Regency, 2) the effect of learning creativity on the student’ critical learning in history learning in Public Senior High Schools in Pati Regency, and 3) the effect of interaction between learning method and creativity level on the student’ critical learning in history learning in Public Senior High Schools in Pati Regency. The research method used in this research was an experimental method with a 2 x 2 factorial design. Based on the result of research, it could be concluded: (1) There was a significant effect of GI and TGT method uses on the student’s critical thinking in history learning. The result of research showed that the student’s critical  thinking ability in history learning using GI method, the students obtained better mean score (mean = 71.83) than that of those using TGT method did (mean = 65.36). (2) There was a significant effect of high and low student learning creativity on the student’s critical thinking in history learning.  The students with high creativity had higher mean score of critical thinking (mean = 72.03) than those with low critical thinking had (mean = 64.93). (3)There was no significant interaction of effect between learning method and student creativity to improve the student’s critical thinking ability in history learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research to improve learning activeness and critical thinking ability of college student in Learning History Courses in South Asia 1 by implementing  Problem Based Learning Model with variations of environmental conditioning (seating) at History Education Program FKIP UNS Year 2019.This research is a classroom action research (CAR). The research is conducted in two cycles which each cycle consists of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subject of this research is college taking South Asia History Courses that consists of 42 college students. The data sources from lecturer, college students, learning process, and document. Data collection techniques are conducted by using observation, documentation, and interviews. Validity test technique uses triangulation which are triangulation of data or source and triangulation method. Data analysis uses interactive analysis. The research procedure uses a spiral model.The results show that: 1) the implementation of Problem Based Learning Model with variations of environmental conditioning (seating) can improve college student learning activeness. College students' learning activeness through pre- cycle observation is 28% or 12 college students, increase into 52% or  22 college students the cycle 1 and in the cycle II increases into 78% or 33 college students. This result has exceeded the set target which is minimum 75%. 2) the implementation of Problem Based Learning Model with variations of environmental conditioning (seating) can improve critical thinking ability of college student in Learning History Courses in South Asia 1 at History Education Program FKIP UNS Year 2019. Critical thinking ability of college student through pre-cycle observation is 61,4% or 26 college students, increases into 78,2 % or 33 college students in the cycle I and in the cycle II increases into 84,1% or 35 college students. This result has exceeded the set   target which is minimum 80%.Based on the results of research, it can be concluded by implementing Problem Based Learning Model with variations of environmental conditioning (seating) can improve learning activeness and critical thinking ability of college student in Learning History Courses in South Asia 1 at History Education Program FKIP UNS Year 2019.

Abstract

Researchclass action aimstoundertand how the model thediscovery learning in learning social science to improve critical thinking n Junior High School 1  Surakrta grade IXG 2017/2018. The method of this research is a descriptive qualitative research result from the cllass in the form of treatment with subject of the research is grade IXG totaling 32 students, comprising 12 men and 20  women. Research data obtained from the observation of learning activities, the informant, documents and photographs of the value of the activities. Minimal standart pass social science class IXG 8,0 with Minimal standards clasikal 85%. After treatment for 3 cycle increased results achieved is the value ot test the ability of  think critically in cycle I : 62,50 %, cucle II : 81,25 %, and cycle III : 90,63  % wort average ciycle I : 76,92, cycle II : 80,76 and cycle III : 85,00. The value of the cycle capacity to critical thinking in discussion on the cycle I : 59,38%, cycle II : 84,38% and cycle III : 90,63%. The average value of students in cycle I : 81, cycle II : 83 and cycle III:88. Minimal standarts pass in cycle I : 78,12%, cycle II : 87,50 % andcycle III : 93,75%.

Abstract

This research is a need analysis in nature by developing finding, yielding, and improving a History learning media as well as testing the effectiveness of the product so that it becomes more effective, efficient, meaningful, and up to date. The product expected is a History learning module based on the temple sites in Central Java, namely: Ngawen temple, Mendut temple, Selogriyo temple, and Candi Asu Sengi temple, which is packed in an Interactive Media to improve the students’ learning result and historical variety awareness.This research used the Research and Development (R&D) method. Its procedure included (1) preliminary research, (2) learning media development, (3) learning media implementation, and (4) learning media (developed product) testing. The subjects of research were the students in Grade X of State Islamic Senior Secondary School of Magelang City, and the objects of research were the students’ learning result and cultural diversity awareness. The development of the interactive learning media based on the temple sites in Central Java is tested with validity testing by learning material expert and learning media expert, one by one testing, and field testing. Each has the average score of greater than 4, meaning that the developed learning media is good and feasible to be used as a research instrument. The result of the effectiveness testing shows that the learning result of the students instructed with the interactive learning media based on the temple sites in Central Java is better than that of the students instructed with the students’ Worksheet as indicated by the result of the Wilcoxon test where both the experimental group and the control group have the p-value = 0.000 (p < 0.05). Thus, there is a significant difference between the experimental group’s score difference (17.5 ± 9.806) and control group’s score difference (7.67 ± 8.412); the former is greater than the latter.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to determine the increase of activeness and learning outcome of social science in grade VII G in SMP N 1 Jaten by applying Team Games Tournament learning methods and also crossword puzzle media on the theme of social cultural diversity. This research is a classroom action researches which is conducted in SMP N 1 Jaten while the object of this researches is students in grade VII G with number of 34 students consisting of 18 male and 16 female. Data collection is conducted by observation and that observation is applied for the teachers and students, the test is done on each cycle and document analysis. Researches process is carried out in three cycle including planning, implementation, observation and reflection steps. The results of this research show that: 1. the activeness of students have increased from pre-cycle to cycle 3. These results can be seen from results of observation sheets of students conducted by researchers and supported by subject teachers. Student activeness in cycle 1 is at 58.82% at the time of delivering material, then cycle 2 becomes 14.70% (5 students) and cycle 3 is (34 students/ 100%). The activeness of group activity cycle 1 is 26 (76.47%), cycle 2 is 27 (79.41%) and then cycle 3 is 100%. While, at time in doing question test cycle 1 is 2 ( 58.82%), cycle 2 is 5 (14.70%) and cycle 3 is 18 (52.94%) The conclusion of this research is that there is an increasing of activeness and student learning outcomes through the use of Teams Games Tournament methods and also crossword puzzle on the theme of social and cultural diversity in SMP N 1 Jaten academic years 2014/2015.

Abstract

Research class action aims to understand how the model the problem based learning (PBL) in learning social science by visualization Gula Gondang Winangun museum to improve critical thinking in Junior High School 1 Surakarta grade VII 2013/2014. The method of this research is a descriptive qualitative research results from the class in the form of treatment with the subject of the research is grade VIII H totalling 26 students, comprising 10 men and 16 women. Research data obtained from the observation of learning activities, the informant, documents and photographs of the value of the activities. Minimal standards pass social science class VII 8,0 with Minimal standards klasikal 85%. After treatment for 3 cycle increased results achieved is the value of tests the ability of think critically in cycle I: 63.38 %, cycles II: 80.76 % and cycle III: 92.30 % worth average cycle I: 76.92 , cycles III: 80.72 and cycle III: 85.0.The value of the capacity to critical thinking in discussion on the cycle I: 73.07 %, cycles II: 81.25 %, cycles III: 87.5 %. The average value of students I: 77.31 cycle , cycle II: 80.38, cycleIII : 84.81. Minimal standards pass  in cycles I: 69.23%, cycles II: 79.92% and cycles I: 88.4%.

Abstract

This research aims to find out: (1) Problem Solving Learning and Project Based Learning of Learning Out Comeshistory, (2) The difference effect between students who have high Creativity, medium and low creativity of learning out comes history, (3) the interaction effect between the uses of learning model with creativity in learning out comes history. This research is quantitative research with experimental method. The populations in this study are all students of SMA Negeriall-Surakartain 2015/2016 Academic Year. Sampling was done by cluster random sampling technique. The research sample are 68 students, they are: 35 students of experiment class Problem Solving Learning of experimental class SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta, 33 students ofcontrol  classProject Based LearningSMA Negeri 3. The instrument uses to collect the data are questionnaires creativity and learning out-comes history test. The test instrument tryout involves content validity, difficulty level, differentiating power, and reliability. The tryout of interest questionnaires instrument involved content validity, internal consistency and reliability. Prerequisite includes tests of normality and homogeneity. The Hypothesis test is use two-way analysis of variance 2x3 with different cells. The results of the research show that: (1) There is differences between the effects of the use of learning modelProblem Solving Learning(PSL and Project Based Learning (PBL) on the learning out-comes history. This is evidenced by Fcount&gt; F table (14.116&gt; 5,66) at the 5% significance level. (2)The difference effect between students who have high interest and low interest of learning achievement history. This is evidenced by Fcount&gt;Ftable (3.838&gt; 5,66) at the 5% significance level. (3) There is no significant interaction between the learning model and interest in learning achievement of history. This is evidenced by Fcount&lt;Ftable (1.076&lt; 5,66) at the 5% significance level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the narrative of nationalism in the textbook of the History of Indonesian High School Grade XI. The problems raised are (1) What is the understanding of nationalism in the Indonesian History textbook for high school students? (2) What is the understanding of nationalism, according to Ernest Gellner in Indonesian textbooks? (3) How teachers and students understand nationalism in the Indonesian History textbook? The research method used is that content analysis is a method for collecting and analyzing the text's content. The text referred to in this study is the Nation and Nationalism in the textbook of Indonesian history for grade XI. The approach used is nationalism. While the theory used is Ernest Gellner's theory, the will theory, mentioning that the soul, taste, and will are a subjective factor, cannot be measured by objective factors. The results showed that the textbook examines about as among them (1) politics for prosperity and glory. (2.) Political Youth (3.) Revolutionary nationalism.

Abstract

Research development aims to: (1) described teaching history in senior high school district Pulau Rimau; (2) described the development of material based history of Peristiwa Front Langkan to improve people nationalism; (3) described the effectiveness of material based history the front ledge to improve people nationalism students.Research conducted is research development (Research and Development) using methods of Borg and Gall .The method includes: (1) the study introduction , namely the literature study, field studies, and findings teaching needs; (2) developmental stage covering the prototype design, validation expert, the trial one by one, and trial to more participants; (3) the step of experiment the effectiveness of covering test whether material and feasibility history.The research results show that: (1) teaching history still focused on one source the textbook without any additional or other sources a supporting, the curriculum is using KTSP curriculum, teachers have not have sufficient knowledge about the development of teaching materials; (2) The teaching materials developed with follow a procedure the development of which adapted to a syllabus, validation three experts who put a value the average score 4 for a category “good”;  trial one by one done on five students and fifteen students, the revision related the literature and grammar; the results of the tryouts broad shows differences in average between class control and class experiment where class experiment more better in terms of achievement and nasioanlisme; (3) the implementation of teaching materials history based Peristiwa Front Langkan to improve nasioanlism proven effective, proven from the acquisition value post-test on class control and experiment to aspects level of achievement with significant 0,000 < 0,025 and than nasionalism aspect with significant 0,000 < 0,025. Shows that Ho rejected which means there is a difference in positive and significant .
