Abstract

The growth rate of the cosmetics industry shows good development, reaching 9.39% in 2020. With so many cosmetic products in the market, consumers must be more careful in choosing the cosmetic products. In addition to the safety factor, the halalness of cosmetics also needs to be considered, especially for Muslim consumers. This research aims to create a halal detection model in cosmetics by implementing one of the deep learning methods, namely convolutional neural network (CNN). .Previous research has successfully created a halal detection model on Korean cosmetics using CNN with an accuracy rate of 95.56%. This research intends to develop previous research by adding classes and the number of datasets. CNN will be used to create a halal detection model in cosmetics by learning the input features in the form of the image of cosmetic ingredient to determine its halalness. Classification is done based on two classes, which are Halal and Shubhat. The results show that the CNN model gets an accuracy value of 98.66% with a loss of 0.0615 in classifying the halalness of cosmetics. Model testing using the testing dataset gets an accuracy value of 98.67%. The F1-score value in each class is 98.66% for the halal class and 98.67 for the shubhat class. The CNN model that has been created is appropriate because it shows high accuracy and low loss on training, validation, and testing data without experiencing overfitting or underfitting,

Abstract

The level of competition in market, particularly in the bakery industry, has become more intensive notably post the pandemic Covid-19. Meanwhile, the strategy implemented by the bakery businesses tends to be on the red ocean, the market in which each business competes each other exhaustively in order to win a market share and destroy others. BL is one of the bakeries in Langsa, Aceh Province. BL’s business has been declining gradually and facing intensive competition in the industry. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to design a business development strategy for BL to create a new uncontested market space by applying value innovation. The process of value innovation is implemented with the approach of Blue Ocean Strategy (BOS) and its application Blue Ocean Studio. The result of this research is a new strategy adjusted to the needs of the three tiers of noncustomers by eliminating the service factor whenever the customers choose the product, and eliminating the factor of strategic location; reducing product variation; enhancing texture and flavor variants, hospitality service, cleanliness and comfort, branding, and attractive bakery design; creating delivery services, products distribution, healthy products for diets, and providing seating facilities as well as coffee corner in the bakery.

Abstract

The automotive manufacturing industry is experiencing significant development and has increasingly complex market demand dynamics. The industrial transformation resulting from these developments has had a significant impact on several automotive manufacturing companies. The value of production efficiency, on-time delivery, and product quality means that companies must have the right strategy in meeting customer demand. Fulfilling customer requests can be realized by opening new adequate facilities. Factory layout and facility design can be a key factor in achieving this goal, especially in the production of front door components model. This research aims to comprehensively detail the design of the factory layout and facilities using the CORELAP method. CORELAP implementation involves collecting supporting data, including Operation Process Chart (OPC), Routing Sheet, Floor Area Requirement, Activity Relationship Chart (ARC), and Activity Relationship Diagram (ARD). The CORELAP method prioritizes spatial relationships to ensure that closely related facilities are strategically located. Design This layout design was created to provide an overview of the strategy for structuring production facilities and their supports to produce an effective and efficient design. Apart from the overview, the analysis carried out can also provide space for stakeholders to be able to utilize the CORELAP strategy in creating new factory layouts and facilities to support improving the company's work performance and meet customer satisfaction. The cost of material handling is calculated to determine the expenses involved in establishing a production facility for car front doors, totaling IDR 763,959. This cost is approximately 10% lower than the current material handling cost, which is IDR 856,888. The results of this research are design proposals that can be utilized or taken into consideration by industrial stakeholders.

Abstract

Company performance is supported by employee productivity, so an ideal workload is one way to maintain good company performance. PT. XYZ is a company engaged in financial services. Interviews with several employees revealed overlapping work, despite each having their job description. This imbalance in employee workload potentially leads to excessive workloads. This study aims to determine the workload received by PT employees. XYZ and choose the required number of employees based on workload calculations. This study uses the full-time equivalent (FTE) method, which analyzes workload based on employee working time converted into an FTE index value. The results show that 17% of employees have an inload workload, 33% are overloaded, and 50% are underloaded. When evaluated based on the field of work, workload equalization needs to be carried out. The separation of work involves adding two employees in the General and Participant Service division and one employee in the Administration and Membership division and reducing two employees in the Finance and Accounting division. Equalizing the workload needs to be done to help employees be more effective and productive in their work.

Abstract

Maintenance of an aircraft requires reliable and responsible manpower. Manpower and manhour are needed to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. C-Check maintenance requires a long time for the aircraft to operate again. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the task card in the maintenance personnel group based on the required task card manhour. Simulation of task card distribution is needed to find the optimum C-Check work group. The method in this study uses Vogel's Approximation Method (VAM) as the main calculation and Northwest Corner (NWC) as the comparison, where VAM and NWC are included in operations research. This study aims to simulate the distribution of C-Check maintenance task cards by adjusting the manhour of the personnel group and the manhour task card required so that the maintenance personnel group can perform the task optimally. The analysis results obtained are manhour requirements in the task card group as demand, the ability of each maintenance personnel group as supply, and the multiplying factor between actual and maintenance program as transportation costs. The results of the calculation of manhour distribution using the Vogel's approximation method (VAM) calculation obtained a total manhours of 724.5 manhours and for the northwest corner (NWC) calculation obtained a total manhours of 902.8 manhours. Thus, the VAM calculation results in cheaper manhour costs compared to the NWC calculation.

Abstract

Business process is an essential aspect of a company and must be managed continuously using Business Process Management (BPM). To support BPM implementation, many researchers have developed maturity models that can measure the existing implementation and provide improvement roadmaps to a company. However, most of the maturity model research have not taken SMEs’ context into consideration in developing the maturity model even though they have distinct characteristics than large companies. The maturity model that is specifically designed or applied in SME context is scarce and underdeveloped despite the importance of SMEs to developing countries such as Indonesia. This research aims to explore the development of BPM maturity research in SMEs and analyze its research focus and purpose of use, using a systematic literature review method. Based on the result, the research on BPM maturity in SMEs is limited, with only 14 articles since 2005. The number of articles has decreased in the last five years. Most of those articles focused on applying the maturity model in a real-life context and mostly served a descriptive purpose only, thus unable to provide improvement roadmaps for companies. Therefore, further studies should explore this research topic by developing a maturity model of BPM specifically designed for SMEs with a prescriptive purpose of use.
