Abstract

Branches of mathematics introduced by early childhood include: counting, numerating, geometry, measuring, estimating, patterns, and statistics. Unfortunately, the activity of introducing patterns in Early Age Education (PAUD) institutions still uses traditional media. The introduction of patterns that are part of the mathematical concepts at PAUD institutions must keep abreast of the times. The current development is in the digital era that allows all activities carried out by children integrated with digital media. The current digital era demands all components of society to be aware of digital literacy, including early childhood (AUD). This research is important to do, because of the lack of pattern recognition media for children, so that the results of Patt_art media development will be useful as an alternative media pattern recognition. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of digital literacy-based Patt_art media in introducing mathematical abilities of early childhood. The research method used experimental research methods. RA NU Matholibul Ulum 01 became the experimental group and RA NU Matholibul Ulum 02 became the control group. Data collection techniques to be performed used observation techniques and oral tests. Data analysis techniques used paired sample t test. The results show that: 1) the learning outcomes of the experimental group were higher than the control group; and 2) Patt_Art media is more effective than conventional media.

Abstract

In general, the purpose of teaching young learners is to develop students’ physical aspects, intelligence, social-emotions, personality, language and communicative competence. Addressing the challenge of the 4.0 Industrial age, teachers of young learners need to know well the characteristics of millennial generation and must be adaptive to accommodate the growth of technology to support learning process. Teachers need to support young learners’ witn learning process held in a meaningful and interesting way stimulating the ability of young learners to think critically and creatively. Besides, learning process accommodating rich content of media and opportunities for interaction/ discussion with teachers and peers prepare both, high achievers and low achieversfor lifelong learning. In simple words, meaningful and interesting learning in this study covers some principles as follows; (1) accommodating comprehensible input; (2) accommodating active - collaborative learning, and (3) adopting and adapting online learning sites for young learners. Through this conditioning learning atmosphere, students' affective filters becomes lower and their learning process becomes more effective.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine an increase in communication skills through spinning a yarn method using hand puppets in children aged 4-5 years at TK Kemala Bhayangkari 61 Pulung. This study is a class action research. Data collection needed to support the results of research included instruments of observation and interviews. The data obtained were described descriptively. The subjects of our study were 15 children in class A1. In the first cycle communication skills got results reaching 40%. This has increased compared to the pre-action results. In pre-action, only 20% of children was able to master the aspects of communication skills. Cycle II has improved a lot. Children who were able to master all aspects of communication skills reached 80%. From this research, it can be concluded that the use of spinning a yarn method could improve communication skills in children aged 4-5 years. This spinning a yarn method using hand puppets was able to attract the attention of children so that children were more focused and able to create fun learning.

Abstract

The Indonesian nation has experienced a decline in patriotism for the country. According to Sulton et al. (2020: 299)1, foreign cultures coming with access 5.0 very quickly affect the younger generation. People are starting to leave traditional art as a cultural heritage. One of them is the lack of socialization of musical instruments accompanying Reyog Ponorogo. Efforts to socialize patriotism can start from an early age. This is because early childhood is in the golden age where all information provided can be received easily. In this research, the instrument that was introduced to introduce Cinta Tanah Air character education in PAUD was the Reyog Ponorogo musical instrument used to accompany the Wayang Golek (Rod Puppet) Reyog Ponorogo art performance. The musical instruments, according to Mr. Shodiq Pristiwanto, S.Sn (2020) as Chairman III of Reyog Ponorogo Foundation, include kempul, trumpet, angklung, kendang, seven kenong as the identity of Wayang Golek Reyog Ponorogo music accompaniment. This research aimed to introduce Wayang Golek Reyog Ponorogo Musical Instrument since early childhood. This research method used a qualitative research with data collection using interviews. The results of this research show Wayang Golek Reyog Ponorogo can be used to introduce patriotism since earlychildhood .

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the process and learning outcomes using storytelling methods that can improve the development of listening to children aged 3-4 years in PAUD Ceria Banjarrejo Lampung Timur. The data analysis techniques used in this study are qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Qualitative data analysis is used to collect data through field notes, observation sheets, interview notes, and documentation record. Quantitative data analysis is used to find out the percentage improvement in listening development of children after the action using the storytelling method. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in the development of listening to children using the storytelling method. In the first cycle, an increase of 63% was obtained and increased to 83% in the second cycle. Based on these quantitative data, it is strengthened by qualitative data findings that the method of storytelling can improve the development of listening to children aged 3-4 years in PAUD Ceria Banjarrejo, East Lampung. The implication of the results of this study is that in the process of early childhood learning, it must apply methods and media that are appropriate to the stage of the child's age and be done in a fun way so that early childhood is able to absorb and optimize all aspects of development.
