Abstract

Abstract

Counting is one of mathematics branches that studies about operation, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Arithmetic dice is a dice that is used for counting game. The purpose of this study is to know that Dice Arithmetic is beneficial as an introduction of counting concept for early childhood. This study employed an experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects were children aged 5-6 years. The sample was taken using Purposive random sampling. The result of this study is that there was a significant influence on children when they were introduced to the concept of counting with Arithmetic Dice, compared to children who were introduced the concept of counting by conventional methods or worksheet. Arithmetic dice has principles like a six-sided dice. Each side of the dice is given a picture that can be assembled and the theme of the picture is customized based on the current theme. This study used two dice. Every child played two dice that had been prepared by the teacher. After the dice numbers appeared, the teacher directly asked the children some questions for example what the sum of the two numbers was, which number was bigger from the two dice, what the symbol of the number was.How to citeRohmah, N., & Waluyo, E. Abstract

The aims of the research were to find the effectiveness of the model and identify the differences in the experimental group and the control group. The research was an experimental research of the type of nonequivalent control group design. It examined the cooperative learning model in developing mathematics for early childhood. It is limited to the introduction of mathematics skills in geometry and pattern capabilities. The sampling used purposive sampling, and the number of samples in each group was 30 children. From t-test results, it was found that the mean of the pretest of 47.47 turned into 31.07, so the experimental group increased by 16.4. It was found that tcount = -14.135 with the Sig. (2 tailed) <0.05. It means that there is a difference between the pretest and posttest in the experimental group. The results of t-test of the control group show that the mean of the pretest of 42.60 turned into 31.60, so the control group increased by 11. It was found that tcount = -10.322 with the Sig. (2 tailed) <0.05. It means that there is a difference between the pretest and posttest. However, the differences shown by the increase in the mean of the control group are smaller than the increase in the experimental group.

Abstract

Branches of mathematics introduced by early childhood include: counting, numerating, geometry, measuring, estimating, patterns, and statistics. Unfortunately, the activity of introducing patterns in Early Age Education (PAUD) institutions still uses traditional media. The introduction of patterns that are part of the mathematical concepts at PAUD institutions must keep abreast of the times. The current development is in the digital era that allows all activities carried out by children integrated with digital media. The current digital era demands all components of society to be aware of digital literacy, including early childhood (AUD). This research is important to do, because of the lack of pattern recognition media for children, so that the results of Patt_art media development will be useful as an alternative media pattern recognition. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of digital literacy-based Patt_art media in introducing mathematical abilities of early childhood. The research method used experimental research methods. RA NU Matholibul Ulum 01 became the experimental group and RA NU Matholibul Ulum 02 became the control group. Data collection techniques to be performed used observation techniques and oral tests. Data analysis techniques used paired sample t test. The results show that: 1) the learning outcomes of the experimental group were higher than the control group; and 2) Patt_Art media is more effective than conventional media.

Abstract

Playing is a basic right of early childhood. It is an activity of self-expression without coercion with feelings of pleasure. In early childhood, playing can provide many benefits to childrens’ development. The benefits can develop the moral, motoric, cognitive, language, and social development of children. The benefits of playing is not only felt when being done with a group of friends, but playing alone can also provide benefits for young children early. Certainly knowing the benefits of playing will add a reference for stakeholders in early childhood to insert elements of education in every child's play activities. Unwitting children, play activities that children do can provide an assessment to educators or parents. On what stage will the development of the child stop? The assessment, can be seen when children are engrossed in play and unnoticed by the children that they are being observed of their growing process. Keywords: Play, Growth, Early ChildhoodBermain adalah hak dasar anak usia dini.
