Abstract

Education in the 21st century demands the readiness of students to face the ever-evolving era. This study aims to determine the effect of using context-based physics learning videos on the critical thinking skills of class XI students at SMA N 1, Suliki District. Students' critical thinking skills at SMA N 1 Suliki District are still low because the use of instructional media has not honed students' critical thinking skills. One solution to this is through the use of context-based physics learning videos. This type of research is quasi-experimental. Posttest-Only Control Design research design. The population in this study were all students from class XI SMA N 1 Suliki District for the 2021/2022 academic year. The process of taking samples is carried out through a purposive sampling technique, namely choosing two classes with the same average. The data collected is from students' critical thinking skills, including "interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference". The data was obtained using a written test instrument in the form of essay questions with as many as 8 items. The data analysis technique used in the hypothesis test is the t test. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the average ability of students' critical thinking for the experimental class was higher than the control class. The results of the t hypothesis test obtained a calculated value with a magnitude of 2.729 and a critical value for the significance level at α = 0.05, and 67 degrees of freedom obtained a value of 2.293. Because the calculated value is greater than the critical value, the hypothesis is accepted at a significant level of 0.05. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that using context-based physics teaching videos has an effect on the critical thinking skills of class XI students at SMA N 1 Suliki District.

Abstract

Teachers' Teaching materials are still limited, such as simple worksheets or textbooks. The available teaching materials are not yet integrated with the verses of the Qur'an and are not technology-based. One of the technologies currently being developed is Augmented Reality (AR) which can convert 2D images into 3D ones. AR is an innovation used to reduce the weaknesses of books and e-learning and can assist in visualizing things. Therefore, developing an integrated physics learning module using Augmented Reality with Al-Qur'an verses on fluid material is necessary. The type of development research used was the 4-D model, namely definition, design, development, and dissemination. However, this study is only in the development stage with limited trials. This study aims to produce an integrated physics learning module using AR based on Al-Qur'an on fluid material for senior high school that is valid and practical. Validation was obtained from some aspects, which are contents, media, and Al-Qur'an interpretation. The results showed that this module is very valid based on these three aspects (92% for contents, 83% for media, and 92% for Al-Qur'an interpretation). Practicality was obtained by a limited trial with students and physics teachers of MAN 2 Payakumbuh. The results obtained in this study are 89% for students and 91% for teachers. It means that this module is very practical. So, this module is very valid and practical for use in learning by teachers and students. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the integrated physics learning module uses Augmented Reality with verses of the Qur'an in fluid material that meets the requirements with very good quality and is very suitable for use as a supporting teaching material in learning. The implications of this research will positively impact the development of Physics learning media in the future; using media learning based on augmented reality (AR) can provide information for educators on how to use appropriate learning media in the learning process.

Abstract

One of the most difficult chapters in physics is alternating current circuits. This material is also one of the materials tested in the university test. This is because the material requires a fairly complicated mathematical approach. Additionally, the alternating current circuit textbooks that have been used so far still use too high language. Therefore, the researchers need a simple way that can facilitate students in solving alternating current circuit problems and be packaged in a textbook. A simple way to solve alternating current problems can be done using the Pythagorean theorem. This is because the two are identical. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to develop a textbook on alternating current circuit material accompanied by a solution using a simpler method, namely the Pythagorean theorem. This study uses a research and development model with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) stages. There were five research instruments used: (1) validation sheets; (2) teacher interview sheets; (3) teacher and student needs sheets; (4) test sheets; and (5) student response questionnaire sheets. The developed textbook has been validated by two experts and one user with a percentage value of 89.13%, so it is in the very valid category. In addition, based on the results of field tests on 34 class XII students of Senior High School in Jember, it is known that the developed textbook obtained an effectiveness percentage of 83.46% with an N-Gain value of 83.46. The textbook is in the high category and has a response questionnaire percentage of 80.3, so the developed textbook received a very positive response from students. By using this textbook, students can solve alternating current circuit problems more effectively and efficiently.
