The Augmented Reality camera effects feature on Instagram provides users with the freedom to create, experiment, and share visual content without limitations, thereby presenting diverse self-images. Remarkably, Indonesia, ranking fourth globally in terms of Instagram users in 2022, demonstrates remarkable adoption of this AR camera effects feature, indicating rapid adoption of new media technology. This research investigates how users engage with this technology to redefine their identities and transcend traditional human boundaries. Through a desk study method, this study analyzes the "Camera Effect" feature on Instagram as a focal point for understanding the phenomenon of self-representation and exploring the concept of posthumanism. By referencing Frank Webster's theory of information society and the posthuman concept in literature, this research reveals that the AR feature on Instagram is a powerful cultural medium for self-representation, overcoming limitations between humans and technology in Indonesian Society. Self-representation becomes pivotal in posthumanism, and AR technology enables exploration and experimentation of diverse identities and expressions. Thus, Instagram's AR technology provides users with new ways to represent themselves, transforming the paradigm of representation and self-identity.

Abstract

Information about tourist attractions is the right of tourists protected by tourism laws and consumer protection. One approach used to fulfill consumer information is through User Generated Content (UGC). This approach serves as virtual branding activities to promote tourist attractions. The content presented must be able to attract visitors' interest. Therefore, there needs to be an effort by tourism managers to provide facilities and tourism infrastructure to ensure visitor comfort. The experiences of tourists will become content published on social media or applications used in User Generated Content (UGC) activities. The purpose of this research is to analyze the motives behind visitors' communal experiences and to analyze the challenges faced by tourism managers in dealing with User Generated Content (UGC) activities. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The results obtained indicate that the main motive consciously and collectively built for UGC is to share useful information about tourist attractions through citizen journalism activities. Other results show that the challenges faced by tourism managers in dealing with UGC activities include enhancing facilities, improving tourism accessibility, and increasing cooperation to generate more UGC content by actively involving the community through local activities. One successful example of cooperation is through empowering local residents in the traditional weaving handicraft activities typical of Lombok, which are part of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Abstract

In the context of health communication, support groups are believed to act as a protective measure against detrimental physical and psychological effects for patients by promoting adaptation both endocrinologically (related to hormones), cognitively, and behaviorally. Such adaptation also brings benefits in enhancing the immune system, adherence to medication consumption, and improving patient health. Support groups are crucial for patients, especially those with similar conditions, as there is a higher level of empathy, mutual information sharing, messages of hope and inspiration, and a platform for expression to enhance the life expectancy of patients with chronic diseases. These support groups emerged since the 1970s, constituting an integral component of healthcare. The existence of support groups is closely linked to helping improve health outcomes and reduce patient mortality rates. The diagnosis given by doctors to individuals can be a traumatic event. In such conditions, effective support systems are needed. These support systems can include friends, family, doctors, or other patients who have experienced similar illnesses. The similarity among members of the support group makes them a "support system" capable of providing both physical and psychological benefits and increasing adherence to the treatment process. The difficulties experienced by patients and their families in managing chronic diseases become highly complex when they do not receive support from their social environment. This motivates the existence of online support groups, which provide them with the flexibility to exchange information and discuss their health problems. To achieve the goals of this research, the researcher used content analysis with the object being the posts of HGM Community  from September to December 2022, while the unit of analysis used was proportional analysis unit. This research found that the most frequently used form of support by group members was instrumental support. The results from 149 posts in HGM Community posts obtained in this study showed that instrumental support with the category of "problem-solving" was the most commonly found.
