Abstract

Toxic relationships are dangerous. Toxic relationships are often found in dating relationships. The cause of a toxic relationship is when in a relationship there is intimidating behavior towards their partner, being rude, reluctant to blame and winning alone. The social phenomena of toxic relationships or toxic relationships above become ideas in the creation of works. The creators interpret the atmosphere and emotions experienced in dating such as joy, sadness, anger, chaos and moral messages about dating as important parts that can be expressed. In developing the work, the artist uses the local idiom of the Senandung Jolo tradition. The creation method used in the cultivation is based on the testimony of the creative thinker Graham Wallas (1926) in the book Psychology of Art by Irma Damayanti it is stated that there are three stages, namely the data collection stage, the observation stage, and the work embodiment stage. The author interprets that a toxic relationship always begins with harmony, but there is also an emotional imbalance with the big title Composition KauAku, which consists of three works entitled "Selaras", "Kentara" and "Swantantra" with world music approach.

Abstract

Synchronization between visual animation and music has been widely known as mickey-mousing. Notable old animation films have used this particular technique to reinforce action with a musical flourish and convey a certain meaning. Furthermore, animation music is commonly based on popular music, such as The Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 in Rhapsody Rabbit. The music is utilized not just as a scoring aspect but to dictate every Bugs Bunny's action when playing the piano. This research aims to study the implementation of the mickey-mousing technique in Rhapsody Rabbit film. It uses a qualitative content analysis approach to analyze visual and aural aspects—primary data is sourced from the Rhapsody Rabbit film and the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 music sheet. Secondary data is collected from literature studies related to the topic. Data collection is conducted through observation, interview, and documentation study. The data is analyzed using Klaus Krippendorf's content analysis technique which divided into six steps. The result of this study is that the mickey-mousing technique is implemented through a combination of a fast pace of visual and musical play altogether. Animation adapts to several parts of the musical composition so that articulation, illustration, and accentuation occur as a function of the mickey-mousing technique.

Abstract

Dance performance is not merely a sequence of artistically arranged movements. Instead, a dance performance serves as a cultural communication medium between the creator and the audience. In the presentation of dance, expressed through each movement, there is meaning that goes beyond the physical aspects alone. Whether through harmonious movement or the selection of specific themes, a dance performance acts as a window that opens the audience's view into the world of emotions, values, and stories intended by the creator. The Bubuka Lawang Dance during Nyiar Lumar in Kawali, Ciamis Regency, West Java, showcases a community that continues to preserve and uphold its culture through Nyiar Lumar activities held every two years. Since 1998, Nyiar Lumar has been organized with the aim of building social solidarity through artistic activities in public spaces. This article aims to describe the research findings on the presentation of the Bubuka Lawang Dance during Nyiar Lumar in Kawali, Ciamis Regency. The research method employed is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The results reveal three stages in Nyiar Lumar: ngawalan (Opening ceremony), lalampahan (Journey), and magelaran (Performance). Additionally, there is a distinctive dance always featured during Nyiar Lumar titled "Tari Bubuka Lawang," with a different concept each year. Nyiar Lumar is closely related to the historical event of the Bubat War, which serves as the theme for Nyiar Lumar. The stage concept utilized is an outdoor stage with lighting relying on torches and candles. The movements are categorized into locomotion, pure movement, and symbolic gestures. Nyiar Lumar has become a biennial event to commemorate the history of West Java, Indonesia.

Abstract

Culture is the characteristic identity of any group or community, which is upheld within its boundaries. Culture as a product of human thought records community traditions in various ceremonies such as births, funerals, agricultural rituals and musical performances. One of the ingrained traditions is the Washing the Floor custom in Daik Village, Lingga Regency, Riau Islands Province, which is carried out before giving birth. This qualitative research conducted in Daik Village immersed researchers in the local community, aiming to understand the social significance and evolution of the Basuh Floor tradition. By demonstrating solidarity and actively participating with the locals, the researcher aims to gather accurate information for this study. The results reveal the tradition's connection to animist beliefs and its role in protecting against mystical forces. Despite modernization, the decline of these traditions reflects changing attitudes towards childbirth practices and health care. This study underscores the importance of preserving cultural heritage amidst societal change. Despite its decline, the Basuh Floor tradition remains an integral part of the cultural identity of Daik Lingga Village and the Riau Islands as a whole. It serves as a symbol of cultural continuity and resilience, reminding the community of their heritage and providing a sense of belonging and identity. Additionally, it underscores the importance of understanding and preserving cultural practices, not only for their symbolic value but also for their role in maintaining social cohesion and collective memory.

Abstract

The Ramayana story reliefs in the Prambanan temple, which are considered artifacts of the past, not only present information about the heroic Ramayana story, but also present a way of drawing that was considered modern at that time. The way of drawing done by the carvers is very distinctive, which is very different from the modern way of drawing or the Western naturalist-perspective-momentopname drawing system. With the typical way of drawing, the carvers can tell many events in one relief panel. The scenes depicted in the relief panels are the embodiment of selected scenes in the Old Javanese Ramayana literature. The transformation from literature into a relief story is similar to a movie derived from a novel. Filmic in the relief of the story can be seen in the selection of the right scene in the literature and the series of scenes arranged into a unified story. The carvers at that time tried to draw the character of each character according to their imagination and used a unique way of drawing. This way of drawing is used to examine the reliefs of the Ramayana story at Prambanan Shiva temple. This research uses qualitative methods and data is obtained through observation and literature review. Research to reveal how to draw the main character and the arrangement of each object based on the Old Javanese Ramayana literature. From the results of the analysis, it can be seen that the previous sculptors have described the character and relief depiction of the Ramayana story by adjusting to the existing literature. The Ramayana story reliefs in the Prambanan temple, which are considered artifacts of the past, not only present information about the heroic Ramayana story, but also present a way of drawing that was considered modern at that time.
