Abstract

Abstract This paper examines the problem of repetition in classical ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān studies and its implications for the development of contemporary scholarship. Repetition rooted in authoritative works such as al-Burhān by al-Zarkashī and al-Itqān by al-Suyūṭī initially functioned as a mechanism of knowledge preservation. However, in later developments, uncritical repetition gave rise to epistemological stagnation and restricted the space for ijtihād. The problem became more complex with the sacralization of classical works, which led academic discourse into the canonization of old narratives. This study employs a qualitative library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach to analyze both classical and contemporary literature. The analysis reveals that repetition in ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān has contributed to the creation of an academic comfort zone, where curricula and discourses remain focused on old issues without the courage to adapt to modern challenges. The paper concludes that revitalizing ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān requires methodological courage to break free from the cycle of repetition. It highlights the contemporary approach of Ma‘na Cum Maghza as a constructive offer to restore ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān as a dynamic, critical, and relevant discipline for contemporary human concerns. Keywords: ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān; Repetition; Revitalization; Sacralization; Stagnation.   Abstrak Artikel ini mengkaji persoalan pengulangan dalam kajian ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān klasik serta implikasinya terhadap perkembangan khazanah keilmuan kontemporer. Pengulangan yang berakar pada karya otoritatif seperti al-Burhān karya al-Zarkashī dan al-Itqān karya al-Suyūṭī awalnya berfungsi sebagai mekanisme pelestarian pengetahuan. Namun, dalam perkembangan selanjutnya, pengulangan yang tidak kritis melahirkan stagnasi epistemologis dan mempersempit ruang ijtihād. Persoalan kian kompleks dengan menguatnya sakralisasi terhadap karya klasik, yang menjerumuskan wacana keilmuan ke dalam kanonisasi narasi lama. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kepustakaan kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif-analitis untuk menganalisis literatur klasik dan kontemporer. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pengulangan dalam ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān telah berkontribusi pada terciptanya zona nyaman akademik, di mana kurikulum dan wacana masih berkutat pada persoalan-persoalan lama tanpa keberanian untuk beradaptasi dengan tantangan kekinian. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa revitalisasi ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān memerlukan keberanian metodologis untuk keluar dari siklus pengulangan. Pendekatan kontemporer Ma‘na Cum Maghza disoroti sebagai tawaran konstruktif untuk mengembalikan ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān sebagai disiplin ilmu yang dinamis, kritis, dan relevan dengan keprihatinan manusia masa kini. Interpretation of Hadith Regarding Ihtikar (Monopoly) In the Perspective of Contemporary Sharia Economic Law

Abstract

Abstract The current global economy faces serious challenges in market mechanisms, including the dominance of large corporations, supply chain distortions, price manipulation, and distribution control by certain entities. This phenomenon bears substantive similarity to the concept of ihtikar in Islam, namely the act of withholding goods to create scarcity and raise prices, thereby causing hardship for the community. Prophetic traditions (ḥadīth) such as "lā yaḥtakiru illā khāṭi'" and "man dakhala fī siʿrinā liyughliyahu 'alaynā fahuwa minnā laysa minnā" affirm a clear prohibition against practices that disrupt market equilibrium. Through a qualitative-descriptive approach and comparative analysis, this study examines the views of classical scholars such as al-Nawawī, Ibn Taymiyyah, and Ibn Ḥajar, and then connects them to contemporary thought on maqāṣid al-sharī'ah, particularly the values of justice ('adl), public interest (al-maṣlaḥah al-'āmmah), and the protection of property (ḥifẓ al-māl). The findings indicate that the essence of the prohibition of ihtikar is highly relevant to the principles of modern price policies such as competition law, anti-trust regulation, and market oversight. Islamic teachings align with the objectives of contemporary regulations to prevent market exploitation, maintain price stability, and protect consumers from economic distortion. Thus, the ḥadīth prohibiting ihtikar possess not only moral and spiritual dimensions but also provide a normative framework for formulating just, inclusive, and public welfare-oriented modern economic policies. Keywords: Ihtikar; Maqashid Syariah; Contemporary Sharia economic Law.   Abstrak Ekonomi global saat ini menghadapi tantangan serius pada mekanisme pasar, berupa dominasi korporasi besar, distorsi rantai pasok, manipulasi harga, dan penguasaan distribusi oleh entitas tertentu. Fenomena ini memiliki kemiripan substantif dengan konsep ihtikar dalam Islam, yaitu tindakan menahan barang untuk menciptakan kelangkaan dan menaikkan harga sehingga menimbulkan kesulitan bagi masyarakat. Hadis-hadis seperti "lā yaḥtakiru illā khāṭi'" dan "man dakhala fī siʿrinā liyughliyahu 'alaynā fahuwa minnā laysa minnā" menegaskan larangan tegas terhadap praktik yang merusak keseimbangan pasar. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif dan analisis komparatif, penelitian ini menelaah pandangan ulama klasik seperti al-Nawawi, Ibn Taymiyyah, dan Ibn Hajar, kemudian menghubungkannya dengan pemikiran kontemporer mengenai maqāṣid al-syarī'ah, terutama nilai keadilan ('adl), kemaslahatan umum (al-maslahah al-'āmmah), dan perlindungan harta (ḥifẓ al-māl). Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa substansi larangan ihtikar sangat relevan dengan prinsip-prinsip kebijakan harga modern seperti competition law, anti-trust regulation, dan pengawasan pasar. Ajaran Islam sejalan dengan tujuan regulasi kontemporer untuk mencegah eksploitasi pasar, menjaga stabilitas harga, serta melindungi konsumen dari distorsi ekonomi. Dengan demikian, hadis-hadis tentang larangan ihtikar tidak hanya memiliki dimensi moral dan spiritual, tetapi juga menyediakan kerangka normatif bagi perumusan kebijakan ekonomi modern yang adil, inklusif, dan berorientasi pada kesejahteraan publik. Abstract

Abstract Service-based contracts such as kafalah and wakalah play a significant role in contemporary Islamic financial transactions and business activities. However, their practical application often emphasizes contractual mechanisms that are not firmly grounded in normative foundations derived from the Qur'an and Hadith. This gap requires further understanding. This paper aims to analyze the urgency of understanding the contractual framework of kafalah and wakalah services through a fiqh-oriented interpretive lens, specifically the works of Wahbah Al-Zuhaili and relevant Prophetic traditions. This study employs a qualitative normative method using textual analysis of Qur'anic verses, classical and contemporary hadith and Wahbah Al-Zuhaili's fiqh-based approach complemented by contemporary Islamic legal literature on service contracts. The findings indicate that kafalah and wakalah are not merely technical legal instruments but embody ethical responsibility (Amanah) and social solidarity (Taawun), and trust as emphasized in the interpretation. Understanding kafalah and wakalah through the perspective of tafsir and hadith strengthens their ethical and jurisprudential dimensions for the application of contemporary Islamic economic practices and strengthens them in modern service-based transactions. Keywords: Akad; Contract; Business; Kafalah; Wakalah.   Abstrak Kontrak berbasis jasa seperti kafalah dan wakalah memainkan peran penting dalam transaksi keuangan dan aktivitas bisnis islam kontemporer. Namun, penerapan praktisnya seringkali menekankan mekanisme kontraktual belum kuat dalam landasan normatif yang berasal dari Al-Quran dan Al Hadis. Kesenjangan ini memerlukan pemahaman yang lebih. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis urgensi pemahaman kerangka kontraktual jasa kafalah dan wakalah melalui lensa interpretative berorientasi fiqh khususnya karya Wahbah Al-Zuhaili dan tradisi Nabi yang relevan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode normative kualitatif dengan menggunakan analisis tekstual ayat-ayat Al-Qur;an, hadits klasik dan kontemporer dan pendekatan berbasis fiqh Wahbah Al Zuhaili dilengkapi dengan literatur hukum islam kontemporer tentang kontrak jasa. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa kafalah dan wakalah bukan hanya instrument hukum teknis tetapi mewujudkan tanggung jawab etis (Amanah) dan solidaritas social (taawun), dan kepercayaan sebagaimana ditekankan dalam penafsiran. Memahami kafalah dan wakalah melalui perspektif tafsir dan hadis memperkuat dimensi etis dan yurisprudensialnya bagi penerapan praktik ekonomi islam kontemporer dan memperkuat dalam transaksi berbasis jasa modern. Abstract

Abstract Inequality in public services and legal discrimination indicate that social justice cannot be understood solely as a theoretical concept; rather, it must be interpreted as a value with concrete direction in social life. This study aims to analyze the meaning of social justice in the Qur'an through Jorge J.E. Gracia’s hermeneutical approach, employing a qualitative method based on library research, with analysis focusing on historical, semantic, and implicative functions. The study centers on three representative verses: QS. al-Māidah (5): 8 concerning the principle of justice, QS. an-Naḥl (16): 90 regarding social solidarity, and QS. an-Nisā’ (4): 135 related to legal equality. The findings demonstrate that social justice in the Qur’an is not an independent concept; rather, it is realized through solidarity and equality as its practical manifestations in social relations. Through Gracia’s framework, the messages of these verses can be understood in context, thereby maintaining their relevance to addressing the evolving realities of social injustice. Abstrak Ketimpangan layanan publik dan diskriminasi hukum menunjukkan bahwa keadilan sosial tidak cukup dipahami sebagai konsep teoretis, melainkan perlu dimaknai sebagai nilai yang memiliki arah nyata dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis makna keadilan sosial dalam Al-Qur’an melalui pendekatan hermeneutika Jorge J.E. Gracia dengan metode kualitatif berbasis studi kepustakaan, menggunakan analisis fungsi historis, makna, dan implikatif. Kajian difokuskan pada tiga ayat representatif, yaitu QS. al-Māidah (5): 8 tentang prinsip keadilan, QS. an-Naḥl (16): 90 mengenai solidaritas sosial, dan QS. an-Nisā’ (4): 135 terkait kesetaraan hukum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keadilan sosial dalam Al-Qur’an tidak berdiri sendiri, tetapi terwujud melalui solidaritas dan kesetaraan sebagai bentuk penerapannya dalam relasi sosial. Melalui kerangka Gracia, pesan ayat-ayat tersebut dapat dipahami secara kontekstual sehingga tetap relevan dalam menjawab realitas ketidakadilan sosial yang terus berkembang. Abstract

Abstract This study examines Quranic Hypnotherapy as a transformative communication model in character education through an interdisciplinary approach integrating Qur’anic studies, communication psychology, persuasive communication, neuroscience, hypnotherapy, and education. The theoretical framework draws upon communication psychology, persuasive communication theory (Hovland and the Elaboration Likelihood Model), intrapersonal communication, transcendental communication, and instructional communication. Quranic Hypnotherapy is conceptualized as a process of internalizing Qur’anic values through repetitive recitation in a relaxed mental state (alpha brain waves), allowing Qur’anic messages to be optimally received by the subconscious mind. This process represents both transcendental communication between humans and God and intrapersonal communication that influences emotional regulation, self-motivation, and behavioral formation. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method based on a literature review of reputable national and international academic sources. The findings indicate that Quranic Hypnotherapy contributes to reducing anxiety, alleviating academic stress, enhancing concentration and learning motivation, and fostering positive character development. Thus, Quranic Hypnotherapy is a transformative communication model that can be operationalized in character education policies. Keywords: Character Education; Communication Psychology; Persuasive Communication; Quranic Hypnotherapy; Transcendental Communication.   Abstrak Penelitian ini mengkaji Hipnoterapi Al-Qur'an sebagai model komunikasi transformatif dalam pendidikan karakter melalui pendekatan interdisipliner yang mengintegrasikan studi Al-Qur'an, psikologi komunikasi, komunikasi persuasif, ilmu saraf, hipnoterapi, dan pendidikan. Kerangka teoritis mengacu pada psikologi komunikasi, teori komunikasi persuasif (Hovland dan Model Kemungkinan Elaborasi), komunikasi intrapersonal, komunikasi transendental, dan komunikasi instruksional. Hipnoterapi Al-Qur'an dikonseptualisasikan sebagai proses internalisasi nilai-nilai Al-Qur'an melalui pembacaan berulang dalam keadaan mental yang rileks (gelombang otak alfa), memungkinkan pesan Al-Qur'an diterima secara optimal oleh pikiran bawah sadar. Proses ini mewakili komunikasi transendental antara manusia dan Tuhan dan komunikasi intrapersonal yang memengaruhi regulasi emosional, motivasi diri, dan pembentukan perilaku. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif berdasarkan tinjauan literatur dari sumber akademik nasional dan internasional yang bereputasi. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa Hipnoterapi Al-Qur'an berkontribusi untuk mengurangi kecemasan, mengurangi stres akademik, meningkatkan konsentrasi dan motivasi belajar, dan mendorong pengembangan karakter yang positif. Dengan demikian, Hipnoterapi Al-Qur'an merupakan model komunikasi transformatif yang dapat dioperasionalkan dalam kebijakan pendidikan karakter. Abstract

Abstract Generation Z, having grown up in the digital age, faces significant psychological challenges, including increased anxiety, depression, and identity crises. While contemporary psychological frameworks address these issues, they often lack the spiritual dimension crucial for holistic well-being among Muslim youth. Therefore, this study investigates the integration of Tafsir Al-Mishbah by M. Quraish Shihab with the recovery theory by Sonnentag and Fritz (2007), specifically focusing on the mental and spiritual well-being of Generation Z. By using a qualitative approach with descriptive-interpretative analysis, this study illustrates how Shihab's contextual interpretation of the Qur'an provides a robust spiritual framework for managing modern psychological pressures. The research demonstrates that the four dimensions of recovery—psychological detachment, relaxation, mastery, and control—can be deeply aligned with Islamic practices. Specifically, these dimensions correspond to prayer (sholat), remembrance of Allah (dhikr), the obligation to seek knowledge, and managing leisure time according to Sharia principles. The findings suggest that integrating spiritual practices with contemporary recovery theory can significantly foster emotional resilience, offering a comprehensive approach to mental health recovery that encompasses both psychological and spiritual dimensions. Keywords: Generation Z; Islamic spirituality; Mental health; Recovery theory; Tafsir Al-Mishbah.   Abstrak Generasi Z, yang tumbuh di era digital, menghadapi tantangan psikologis yang signifikan, termasuk peningkatan kecemasan, depresi, dan krisis identitas. Meskipun kerangka psikologis kontemporer berupaya mengatasi masalah ini, pendekatan tersebut sering kali kehilangan dimensi spiritual yang sangat penting bagi kesejahteraan holistik pemuda Muslim. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menyelidiki integrasi Tafsir Al-Mishbah karya M. Quraish Shihab dengan teori recovery oleh Sonnentag dan Fritz (2007), dengan fokus khusus pada kesejahteraan mental dan spiritual Generasi Z. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan analisis deskriptif-interpretatif, studi ini menggambarkan bagaimana tafsir kontekstual Shihab terhadap Al-Qur'an memberikan kerangka spiritual yang kuat untuk mengelola tekanan psikologis modern. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa empat dimensi pemulihan—psychological detachment, relaksasi, mastery, dan kontrol—dapat diselaraskan secara mendalam dengan praktik Islam. Secara spesifik, dimensi-dimensi tersebut berkorespondensi dengan ibadah shalat, dzikir (mengingat Allah), kewajiban menuntut ilmu, dan pengelolaan waktu luang yang sesuai dengan prinsip syariah. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mengintegrasikan praktik spiritual dengan teori recovery kontemporer dapat meningkatkan ketahanan emosional secara signifikan, serta menawarkan pendekatan pemulihan kesehatan mental yang komprehensif mencakup dimensi psikologis dan spiritual.
